Is the MX advance lever always this wobbly?

I’m in a little bit of a dispute with the CLA tech working on this camera (it will probably work out so I won’t name and shame) so I just wanted to check if the advance lever on the MX is always this loose? See video.

Pentax MX lack of edge sharpness in viewfinder

I recently bought and had serviced a Pentax MX, but am somewhat disappointed to find that the viewfinder, although sharp in the middle, loses sharpness quite visibly toward the sides, especially compared to my two Konica SLR's (a T3 and a T4). The lens (Pentax M 50mm 1.7) is not the problem; I've tested it on my Sony A7II, compared it to the Konica 50mm 1.7, and also shot a short test series on film before sending it for CLA. Both digital and film photos looked fine. Is this a thing with MX:es or might there be a problem with the mirror, the matte screen or the prism?

Which is the smallest 35-70mm vintage zoom?

Just out of purely academic (well...) interest, which 35-70mm vintage zoom is the tiniest?
As a first competitor I offer the Konica Hexanon f35-70mm 3.5-4.5 which as you can see is only 6cm when fully retracted.

Some travel advice for visitors to Rome

Much advice is given in this sub about what to do or not to do as a tourist in Rome, but one thing I seldom see mentioned is dress. If you don't want to be easily spotted as a mark, dress like the locals! Don't walk around in shorts and Hawaii shirts, crocs and baggy T-shirts. Roman men dress casually but smartly: an open shirt, or a well fitting quality tee, a suit jacket or sweater slung across the shoulders, nice trousers or well-tended jeans, cared for sneakers or (preferably) leather shoes. Women too wear light summer dresses or casual but stylish tops.
Obviously there are very badly dressed Romans as well but they do not dress like tourists. So try to be a visitor, not a tourist, in Rome and you'll probably get a new perspective on the city.

EDIT: I obviously ruffled some feathers both with presumptive tourists who seem to think I'm a snob, and local Romans who apparently get offended at the thought that a foreign visitor could slip under their radar.
Its fine! I just wanted to offer some advice for not looking too much like a mark in the Roman touristscape.

Photo (only) printer recommendations

For years I have been printing my photos on a rather simple Canon Pixma IP7250 inkjet. I find the output subjectively excellent if occasionally a little random with colour cast which is most noticeable in black and white prints. However, the printer lacks flat paper transport which makes using high quality paper like Hahnemühle photo rag baryta difficult to use, and it also uses dye based ink (apart from pgblk). So my question is: is there a reasonably priced inkjet that most importantly has flat transport and preferably also uses pigment based ink, while producing images at least as good as the IP7250?

Service for Konica Hexanon 135mm 3.2 in Europe?

I am looking for a good reputation tech in Europe who can clean up the oily aperture blades of a Konica Hexanon 135/3.2 lens. I've cleaned a few other lenses myself but since I can't find a schematic for this particular model I thought I'd better leave it to a professional. I appreciate any suggestions! (Also posted in r/Konica ).

Best third party teleconverter for Konica AR?

As the Konica 2x teleconverter seems quite rare and expensive I'm looking for tips on other high-quality teleconverters for the AR system. I know there will always be some image degradation but they're handy for those few vacation shots where you don't feel like schlepping around your 200.

Don't give up on a thin negative

I shot some ortho film with an orange filter for an experiment but misjudged the exposure by several stops (lower row, upper row normal exposures for reference). Really did not expect to get much out of them but there were surprising amounts of information in these extremely thin negatives!

Is Ferrania gone - again?

Ferrania supposedly restarted last year after a takeover by the somewhat less reputable Jake Seal. After much trumpet blowing about getting back on track and even compensating those sinking their money into their earlier failed kickstarter all went quiet again. Their last website post is from November and the last Instagram post is from February (and is just an image repost). Does anyone have any news on this? I wouldn't mind that much except I really really like their Orto 50.

EDIT: I'm very happy to see I was probably wrong in my pessimism although Ferrania's new films doesn't seem to have reached Scandinavia yet, nor northern Europe in any great numbers.
