I have a little studio with multiple apollo interfaces and rack units (all for mac), and something weird ive never seen before happened to my oldest and back in the day most used apollo, a og silver windows apollo twin usb:
The LEDs suddenly were very dim and flickering and it had phantom inputs on every single button and knob on the unit, making it completely unusable. Muting and unmuting itself, changing mic to line, putting phantom power on and off etc. It got worse and worse over a few hours, until suddenly all knobs stopped working and all LEDs went out.
Now the unit looks like its off, but the phantom inputs stopped so it works perfectly again (you just have to control it via uad console, which i did anyways)
Does anyone have experiences with this? is it repairable?
im fine using it like this if not, also i mostly work on mac with other apollos these days, but it controls audio on the gaming rig
to be fair it was used daily for 10+ hours since like 2017, i cant complain too much
Im not using subwoofer, im in a small but treated room and working on mixing music professionally.
I like the Dynaudios, but for some reason (maybe because theyre two-way) everything sounds weirdly wide on them, even when its supposed to be very mono. At least compared to other speakers. I used a friends neumann kh120 recently and they sounded much more tight and mono (which in turn makes stuff thats supposed to be wide sound wider). This, and that the bass is pretty rolled off and the highs kinda hyped, is what i dislike about the lyd-7. The transient response is amazing and their price to performance ratio is insane.
Now from reading online, pretty much everything i have issues with on the lyd-7 would be solved by the kali in8v2, but as theyre cheaper than the dynaudios, and generally kinda cheap, i wonder if all the love for them on the internet can even remotely be factual
any experiences?
I listened to Endless in its entirity for the first time today (being a spotify user i didnt have access to the full experience on apple music for the last 10 years and i didnt want to watch the colored worse quality youtube upload).
Now i do think its very good, and it has some absolute gems on it, but i also think it has way more tracks that sound like unfinished ideas or throwaways compared to blonde, which is absolutely perfect and incredibly polished from front to back in my eyes.
Not saying Endless is bad, but in my opinion you can tell it wasnt the main focus of the rollout back then to say the least.
However now and then i see people commenting on this sub that they like Endless better than Blonde and Channel Orange, and while thats valid ofc, im curious as to why
is it the rawness of it? what about Endless makes you like it more than Blonde?
Ive been listening to "Ivy" by Frank Ocean, and ive been wondering how to recreate this effect as close as possible- whenever he goes into higher register with his voice on the track, theres what sounds like either a very short slapback delay or haas effect delay that feeds into a subtle plate reverb or something similar.
Ive tried to replicate it for hours at this point but i cant get it right. I mostly tried fiddling with all kinds of settings on Valhalla Delay and then feeding that into a plate reverb, as well as some Eventide H3000 configuration but even without the reverb i cant get the timing quite right
any ideas? maybe someone knows jeff ellis and can ask?
No but honestly, id be very happy if someone with more experience with effects like this could help me out here

it starts around 30 sec in
assuming you ban malphite and renekton respectively
fiora has less early agency and gets dove easier in my experience
riven has way more early agency but needs to focus on bursting squishies and proxying if vs a tank, which makes the game infinitely harder if your team doesnt have anything that can deal with tanks
but which one is better for blind picking?
I usually play Fiora/Jax/Olaf (85% of games on Fiora) currently in E1 with a rather stable 64% wr over 116-ish games
Now, ive always wanted to play Riven since i picked the game up in 2015 and i think my fundamentals are good enough and in normals my wr with her is also around 60%, but when i made a new account to learn her every single game is way harder than any emerald or low dia game i ever saw and im sitting at a hard 52% wr (im assuming its some kind of smurfqueue as it doesnt match the visual rank at all but idk). My brain wants to play riven like fiora and that obv doesnt work
How the fuck do i learn riven fr (note im not a complete new player to riven i got around 800k mastery)
35% crit for free, a gazillion AD, ignite and insane sustain
how in the world do you play against that?
