Pearson and NYSTCE

OMFG I HATE THEM.

I’m sorry, but I had 3 tests scheduled yesterday at 9:30am in Westbury. I prepared, showed up a half hour early, only to be greeted by the rudest worker I have ever encountered. She told us the system was down and no one could test. Initially told us to wait 30-60 minutes to see if it would work, then after 45 minutes passed and some
Very nasty words exchanged between herself and another woman who needed to take a test, she kicked everyone out and called the police to remove us. Truly truly the most insane thing i have ever experienced.

Called Pearson, and they said the worker didn’t note anything about an outage, and that nothing shows on their end and so until that is submitted, they can’t do anything for me. Also called NYSTCE, which omg why is it impossible to get a human on the phone, and they were even worse. “Sorry mam I don’t mean to be unsympathetic to your situation, but all you can do is fill out a complaint and file for a potential reimbursement to enter so you don’t have to pay for the test again but it could take 4-6 weeks, so you probably should just pay for the test and then try to get your money back later.” Like nope. I don’t have ANOTHER $180 to shell out. WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY? I just can’t get over the lack of ownership to their mistake and that it’s my burden to be on hold for two hours to just be told, sorry can’t do anything.

Between dealing with these offices and the DOE and the UFT, and all the hours I have spent on hold listening to stupid hold music, my god it’s taken years off my life.

If you’ve made it this far, I’m sorry you’re still reading this 😂

Bed sharing question

For parents who allowed their kids to sleep in their bed when needed, how did the cycle end and you child get back into their own beds?

For more context, my son who is 2.5yo has always struggled to sleep through the night. We have tried all the things…the chair method, frequent check ins, closing the door, keeping the door open, getting a new bed to make sure he has enough space, hanging out in his room during the day and playing so he is more Comfortable in there, cutting tv and sweets before bed…

The kid wants comfort and it gets to a point where it feels neglectful to just leave him because he gets to a point of distress, and it’s every night. 3x a night if I bring him back in his bed and sneak out. So for my sanity, we just gave up and after trying to get him back in his bed 2 or more times, we usually just put him in our bed.

So my question for people who did this, how long did it last for you? Did your kid eventually just stay in their bed one night and never turn back?

I need to know that this isn’t going to last forever because TBH I’m spiraling that I’m never going to
Sleep ever again and that there is permanently going to be toddler feet kicking me all night.

Bonus question: when do we as parents just like not have to think about our children’s sleep anymore? When do they become people we need to wake
Up, and not people who wake us up all night long?

Dream street in documentaries

Currently watching boyband confidential, and I’m wondering why Dream Street is never included in any of these documentaries. They seem to fit the mold for being managed by Lou Pearlman, taking him to court, having kind of a tragedy occur.

I know they weren’t a HUGE boyband, but curious if anyone has insight on this ?
