Hey y'all. I've seen the latest dev diary and just felt like writing a quick note! I intend to keep posting vistas, same as I have been for the past several months. Note that this is a fun experience and personal challenge for me and not in any way a dig at the devs. I've gotten some accusatory comments in the past, so I'm just reiterating. I respect what the dev team at hinterland do. I love that they periodically update us on the state of the game. I just want to practice my photography, explore cool landscapes in the game, and see how far I can get.

A little about me: I have some health issues that leave me occasionally bedridden, as well as other mental health challenges which I won't get into here. I found the long dark back in 2021 after a really difficult and miserable time in my life, and it became a great way for me to temporarily escape the world and put my mind in a place of calm and healing. I want to share what the game means to me with my posts. I play mostly on pilgrim because it's calming and peaceful, almost meditative. I never want anyone to feel that what I'm doing is to cause an uproar or cynically try to farm karma.

I keep a tally on my posts for the same reason we all keep an eye on the day counter in our games: for the personal challenge. But I've been really pleasantly surprised at how much steam this series has picked up. there are regulars in my comment section and those people are the best. It always makes me smile seeing you guys. And it's always nice to share something that resonates with people. Having said that, I always welcome feedback on my posts! and if the mods ever asked me to change something or stop doing this, I would. but so far, it seems like they're okay with it 🙂

Side note uhhhh --- some people have mentioned they want to see longer versions of some of these. I want to do something like that but I am limited by the fact that I play on switch 😅. I do have a (admittedly low-end) PC, but due to my health issues, and the fact that I work a full time blue-collar job, it's a lot easier for me to play lying down, or during my breaks at work. I would love it if someone with the time and the capability wanted to help with getting something like that set up. If anyone is interested, please DM me!
