43 min video essay on Turok 3 (Jake's Save Room)

Hey all!

a month or so ago I shared the video I made on turok 2 and people seemed to really like it. Last night i finished and uploaded one on Turok 3.

Its not a review or me trying to argue a point, just talking about the game. What it was, what it was doing, how it was received, the plot, etc.

If you check it out I hope you like it!

Hi ! Im Jake - Ive grown a pretty successful retro documentary channel

Didnt even know this sub existed. but, hello im Jake! I run jakes save room.

I do video essays/documentaries on older games. not reviews, or arguing some point.

Just talked about the game. What the devs were trying to do, what the landscape looked like at the time for the game to come out in. the different mechanics and systems in the game, how they work and what they do for the player. Like why this pacing choice causes panic and why that adds to the experiance. things like that.

Also go over the plot and the reception at the time/ if it had a lasting impact on the industry.

Been doing this for almost 2 years now, have millions of long form views, 100s of thousands of watch hours and coming up on 20k subs.

New stalker in the zone

Hey all!

Im not new to the series but I am new to GAMMA. I played through SOC again recently for a video essay and it really gave me the itch to jump deeper and try gamma.

I have it set up and running but are there additional mods worth downloading? Can you add more mods to it? I assume so. Im also kinda new to modding outside of the steam workshop lol.

My goal is to make it as realistic as possible. Im on my first run and doing survivalist. Beat my ass and drag me through the mud is what im looking for.

but small things like weapon animations, visual things or just anything to make it even more realistic.

I am having a blast so far though.

Need people for Turok 2

Hey everyone!

I have a decent sized youtube channel, about 20k subs. Im working on a video essay/retrospective style video for Turok 2, using the remaster.

I would like to talk about the addition of PVP but its pretty clear im not going to find a full lobby so i cant record the Broll unless i find some people.

Youd just have to be okay with your game name showing up. for reference on that the last Turok 1 video got around 100k views so people will see it.

If you wanna check out the channel prior to giving an answer its Jakes Save Room on youtube

49 Min video essay on Turok Dinosaur hunter ( Jakes Save Room)

Hey all!

I do video essays on older games. They arent reviews or trying to argue a point just pretty straight forward what the game was and how it felt to play, like going over the fog and what it does for the experience. Things like that.

The channel is fairly successful so I'm confident with the quality.

If you check it out I hope you like it

The journey so far (youtube)

starting this off with I know youtube is more of a part time job when you actively make content but if you angle the channel to be evergreen those previous videos do become passive because theyre just there months later getting ad rev.

I started a youtube channel about a year and a half ago. I do video essays / documentaries on games. I record the game start to finish for broll, write the script, do the narration, edit, etc.

I know there are some who have blown up way faster than me but within this time ive grown to almost 17k subs, almost 2 million views overall and a super loyal community.

I do retro games mostly, so the same kind of person that will watch it today will be the same kind that will watch it 5 years from now.

This makes each video compound, I have 85 (and growing) ad rev generators. plus the paid memberships

I was monetized around 7 months into doing this and recieved my first decent payout around 9 months in. The peak for me seems to be around the colder months, last nov i brought in 1200, last month was 900.

Just wanted to share, im proud of it and excited to see where it will be in another year

28 minute video essay on Sly Cooper 1 (Jakes Save Room)

Jakes save room is a channel that talks about games like theyre time capsules. instead of reviewing them or simply breaking them down we look at what the devs were trying to do. then how it actually felt to play. The goal is to really take you back to the moment you played the game.

This was also my step moms favorite series and I've dedicated the video to her as she passed away recently.

If you check it out I hope you like it

37 minute video essay on Shadows of the Damned (Jakes Save Room)

Jakes save room goes over what the game was, some history on its development, how it feels to play through its mechanics, its pacing and level structure, looks back at reception when it came out and looks at where it stands today.
