I bought the game yesterday, and I have played some games similar to this like Ready or Not, and SCP 5k.

Managed to beat a few different missions, and I have a few questions so far:

1. Are explosives meant to look like nothing? I keep trying grenades and they seem to work ok, even if the visual effects are lack luster, but the grenade launcher had no effects to talk about... And it constantly kills people through walls.... Feels cheap and jank.

2. I did a mission in a forrest to kill a specific guy in a small military camp area... Well, I did.... But would it will the game to tell you that you have to press F to confirm the kill and then you can leave?

3. How do I know when a mission is done and I can head to evac? I kept clearing and exploring and didn´t realize I was done for a while, wasting time.

4. I just learned about the little computer you get by holding M.... Wow, that would have helped to know. Did I miss an obvious hint somewhere whats going on.

I feel like the gunplay is very well done, and the game is good, but it needs polishing even if it´s target audience is gun nuts, it should not be an obstacle to enjoy the game.

As of now, it is sitting on Steam at mixed... And I agree.

I, like most of you love DRG. From the characters, voice lines, and missions. I avoided any leaks official or not and waited for launch to actually get my hands on it.

I personally, dislike Omega (specially in comparison to mission control) and hate all the new characters design and voice. From filters on the tutorial, glitchy filters on omega voice, and the downgrade of all the voice lines, specially the females... But I think this was asked by the community even though Im left scratching my head and can´t wait to unlock anything that covers their face.

When I was playing DRG I was pressing "v" to rock and stone even when I was solo with bosco. It was a feature wanted in any other game I played!

And now... Here I am playing with no voice audio because of how bad they are, and praying mod support brings back DRG phrases soon.

That was just subjective opinion, there is probably going to be tons of people that like the new and shiny thing. Let´s talk gameplay.

You start the game and unlike DRG where you choose your difficulty you are comfortable with and just keep on gaming, here you progress through depths.

The hazard 1 equivalent sat me down quick... Im talking from someone who has hundreds of hours on DRG, and usually enjoy Haz 4 and deep dives. Being a rogue lite any time I went in to the mission and was staring at three options I didn´t like I just felt like closing the game...

The new armor system is really cool, but... Where is my energy shield? Really? All this does is make it so Im either not full HP, or not full armor and now not optimally set up. Terrible.

Me and a friend did the first run, and the timer kept getting in our way, and any time it went over the 75% range, we wanted to call in the elevator, so instead of exploring the map, we just kinda hovered in case of danger close to it.

On one of my solo runs I got a crazy set up where I was hitting for 4k dmg. Super strong and yet, I kept dying. Getting ressed by "Boscon´t" with no way of getting armor and no red sugar in sight. I still managed to "win" after 50 minutes but it did not feel right. I hated it. I kept thinking "this is hazard 1... HOW am I this bad?"

I really don´t want to imagine the game where there are more elite enemies, as it stands it was already exhausting just dealing with the ones I did.

Because it is Ghost Ship Games, I think they can pull it off, but this is a rocky "launch" that I wasnt expecting from them tbh.

The GOOD:

I typed way too much negative stuff gona sit down and think about what I enjoyed... I feel like the weapons are all potentially good, and most if not all sound and look amazing (Not the grenades, no idea what they did to those...). The actual SKILLS on the character seem pretty cool, might need balancing like is guardian only giving the first 50% of armor good enough? The hub area is cool, including the new gym.

TLDR:
Art direction bad, voice lines bad, gameplay down to luck, long and stretched out, mission timer bad, tutorial filter bad, difficulty curve bad, weapon design good, weapon sound good, character skill design good, Ghost ship Games good.

So, for context. I DON'T use Home page youtube. I exclusively use my Subscriptions tab.

I am happy to watch ALL LTT videos, hell even most of short circuit. But now that Duke Luke is 50/50 , as per Linus explanation, I need to go to the NEW ( /old lmg clips) channel... Ok, it has been renamed to the WAN Show, I can live with that. I watch all WANs after all thats no problem right... ?

WRONG! I keep getting clips about the episode I have literally already seen! It's like its just extra clutter, of something I have already seen in my highly curated subscription tab.

Im literally thinking on a work around... Do I unsub and just remember to tune in every Friday? Do I maybe just use Twitch for WAN from now on? (eew guys, look at what you are making me consider)

Is it so much to ask that there is a channel, that is literally JUST the god damn WAN SHOW?
