What makes Lily the “worst,” in the game?

Bear in mind: I don’t play the character. However, I do find that discussions about best-characters and worst-characters yield a lot of knowledge about the game and its mechanics. Hence why I ask. :)

This “she’s the worst,” idea is a sentiment I hear thrown around quite a bit, but I never knew why.

✨ The Dream Team ✨

They’ve been my favorites ever since I was a kid. Even tried using the team on Showdown a few times to…little success. I’ll just stick to single-player. 🤣

Slowly gaining my confidence back and enjoying the game again. :)

I took a long break at the start of the year due to a number of factors; one of which being severe ranked-anxiety. The game felt like a chore, and not like a game. Clips and tournament-streams were enough for me at that point, as well as a lot of time in the lab.

However, over the last week or so, I’ve started jumping back into casual matches and…have had a lot of fun with it! Put on some tunes, try out what I practiced, and see what works and what doesn’t. Just this evening I ran a set with another Chun and found myself analyzing, thinking, and reacting to what my opponent was doing instead of just letting the noise in my head get to me.

Steam will be down for maintenance by the time I get home tomorrow, but come Wednesday…I may just queue-up ranked again and start the grind anew.

So, for anyone feeling anxious and hearing those voices saying, “I can’t do this!!” in your head…you totally can. :)

Take your time, give casuals a shot (you’ll get stomped by people way-higher rank than you, and you’ll stomp people way-lower; which breaks-down a lot of the nerves in my experience), and see what happens! You’d be surprised just how confident you can become.

See you in the streets, my dudes! ❤️‍🔥

How can I address my performance/ranked anxiety in gaming?

Hey all!

Recently, I've started to feel much-more anxious about playing ranked games in Street Fighter 6 and it's actively harming my enjoyment of the game. When I watch others play, the game looks very-fun and I can feel the urge to jump-in myself; however, once I set myself up to look for matches in the game, and see that little 'searching' icon on the bottom of the screen, my heart starts racing, I tense-up, and all the practicing I've done seems to disappear. I was able to play for months and months when I first picked-up the game, but now things feel more...consequential, for lack of a better term.

It should be noted that I don't feel this anxious about most-anything else in life (one other example I can think of, but that's for another post). I don't feel my worth or value as a person is attached to my rank in a video game, but I do tend to be harsh on myself when mistakes are made after much-practice.

What are some ways I can slowly start to relax and have fun with this again; and recognize that it really is just a game?

I feel stuck in the dating-world and it’s becoming very frustrating

Hey everyone and happy Friday!

I’m a 29 year-old man who’s recently reached a point of confidence in himself after many, many years of self-doubt and loathing. In that spirit, I’ve decided to try and start dating again; but I’ve noticed that much of the “advice,” I hear regarding dating is contradictory. There’s a few things, but I’ll keep it to one for now.

On one hand: I’m told to approach (and, of course, be respectful about it), on the other: I’m told approaching in public isn’t exactly appropriate anymore; neither is approaching at work, or even in third-spaces where people just want to do their own thing.

This back-and-forth of: “you should approach but you shouldn’t,” is frustrating me. The last thing I want to be is an inconvenience or a burden; and I’d just reached the point where I no longer thought I was either of those.

Is it a good idea to approach anymore, or is it not? And if it is…what happens when nobody around me displays any signs of wanting to be approached?

Which technique is being used here?

Hey everyone! I was listening to this and around the 1:06 mark heard a very-aggressive sound coming from what I believe was the bones(?). Could someone please tell me what this technique is called and how I might go about notating it? Thanks so much!
