Can someone please tell me what was any of that?

So, I just watched Angel's Egg. Beautiful artwork, beautiful music. The plot? What hell was any of that? Don't get me wrong, I didn't dislike it, but I can't say I liked it or loved it if I don't know what happened at all. Can someone explain it to me?

Who's the guy, is the world the ark, what's that giant eye thing, why'd he break it, why does she have it, who's the girl, is that an angel skeleton petrified into the wall, why are all the fishermen stone until the fish arrive, what are those fish, what exactly happened to her when he broke it, what's up with all the water flasks, why are there so many eggs after she yeeted herself into a chasm (and died?), what's up with the convoy of tank things he was apart of and left, why was there nothing in the egg, he had many opportunities to destroy the egg before then so why didn't he do it earlier, what's up with the trees, this seems like a world where The Flood from Genesis in The Bible never ended but why does look like that and why didn't it end, what is that thing he has, why is her hair white, why is his hair white, where's the sun?

Is The Anime Mononoke On Netflix Good?

Is the 2007 anime "Mononoke" any good? All I know is that its artstyle is kinda unique but I don't know if its bad-unique or good unique or if its story is any good? There's also the anime trilogy recently made, are they any good (after I get through the 07 show, of course)?

Probably not the Right Subreddit but...

Netflix has the 2007 anime "Mononoke" and the movie trilogy. Are they any good? I want to know before I start watching so I don't waste my time.

Seath

Why does Seath have a library of millions of books he can't even read? Yes, I know Gwyn made him duke or whatever (duke of what, exactly, dukes own land and collect taxes from it, he just has a tower that probably smells like body odor?), that's not the question. Why does Seath have a library at all? He's blind and he can't even traverse the passageways or use the stairs or use the elevator, he's too damn big to even open the books. And lets say somehow he CAN see and he CAN traverse the passageways and stairs and elevators, he still can't read, he's a dragon, he's illiterate. There is only 1 language across all 3 games, you see the script of said language in summon signs (lowkey looks like if Hebrew and Mandarin were in a blender) and all we've seen Seath do is scream so I'd assume that's ALL he can do and thus he's illiterate. Lets say he IS literate and is NOT blind, at his size could YOU read the print of a human-scale book? No.

The Duke's Archives is a fantastic area with a very cool cave at the end and a cool-looking easy boss, but it makes NO sense.

Aura

What Dark Souls boss (the entire trilogy) has the most aura? Criteria for aura are these:

  1. Lore of the character.
  2. Design/aesthetic/style.
  3. Attacks/moveset
  4. Voicelines if they have any.
  5. Cutscenes; intro cutscene, phase-change cutscene, or outro cutscene.
  6. Their music.
  7. Battle venue.

Who has the most aura? It doesn't have to be a humanoid boss, btw, it can be a beast/monster.

For me, its tied between Artorias, Sister Friede, Slave Knight Gael.

A little help?

Yes, I've played Dark Souls I and Dark Souls III, but I have a question (it is my first playthrough, but don't worry, you're not spoiling much, I'm about to fight Midir and then I'll fight Gael and then I'll fight The Soul of Cinder so I'm not a noob on lore or story).

What exactly are the differences (and drawbacks post-ending for the world of DS) between for The End Of Fire ending (I have the eyes) and The Usurpation Of Fire ending (I have the 8 Darksigils)? Which is better for humanity and a truer Age Of Dark provided we have all the issues of The Darksign?

My New Theory

The Darksign Sun and The Darksign. I almost thought my game was glitched when I entered Lothric Castle for the first time and saw that in the sky.

As we know, The Darksign brands humans and ties them to the life of The First Flame, creating the undead curse/fire linking curse. Its what makes us lose all souls upon death and rise again at the last bonfire we rested at.

And I've been wondering... What if The Darksign forming around the sun in Dark Souls III is part of the curse trying to keep the world from totally unravelling by literally BRANDING THE SUN to make sure it (a symbol of the gods) stays there and does not totally fade away being that by this point the world desperately even actively CRAVES The First Flame to fade out and be replaced with Dark but the curse won't allow that. And if The Age Of Dark finally came, the sun of the gods would no longer be needed and the Darksign is trying to keep it in the sky almost like its constantly reviving it.

This idea is poorly explained, gimme a break if it sucks, its nearly 5:30 in the morning where I live. Just think about it. Even if I'm wrong, it sounds cool as fuck.

What The Hell Are They?

Genuinely, what the fuck are these creepy ass statues? Clearly, they're Frampts but why the fuck do these things exist in Lothric and The Ringed City? They're so creepy. Frampt does NOT look like that (I despise Frampt and I am a Kaathe-supporter all the way, but even I'll defend Frampt's honor when sculptors of Lothric and The Ringed City depict him like THIS). Why do Lothric and The Ringed City depict him like this??

Is it actually literal or reaction-speed?

Is the "3 times normal speed" actually literal? Does Char's Zaku II (and subsequent mobile suits) actually fly at 3 times the normal speed of a regular Zaku II or is his reaction time just so much better than other pilots that it FEELS like he's 3 times faster?

I never could tell if his machine was intended to be actually 3 times faster than others or if his reaction time is 3 times faster due to natural skill and his Newtype precognition abilities.

In older content (MSG, Zeta, and CCA), I always felt that they were trying to say his reaction speed and Newtype abilities made him a faster fighter, but in newer content (Origin, Unicorn, etc), it seems like they're trying so say his mobile suits themselves are actually 3 times faster.

Can someone clarify if his suits are 3 times faster or if Char as a pilot has a reaction-time enhanced by his Newtype abilities which makes it 3 times faster than other pilots.

Dancer Question

The Dancer of the Boreal Valley is of the best fights of Dark Souls III.

But, I have to ask, was she really that big when she was normal or did Pontiff make her bigger?

Obviously, Pontiff made Vordt bigger because Vordt being that size when he was normal means he can't even enjoy a day at the park without tearing up all the trees, but The Dancer isn't much taller than Lorian (well, they would be of similar height if they both had good posture, Lorian has crippled legs and therefore can't stand at all and The Dancer has a posture that'd even put Dr. Doofenschmirtz to shame) and if that's Lorian's natural size (given the context of Pontiff's absurd height, Wolnir is Wolnir, and and both Gundyrs) I wouldn't find it crazy to imagine The Dancer is just naturally that tall (humina humina, tall mommy acrobat).

What do you all think?

Tell Me How Good This Theory Is

I'm playing Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition for the 1st time ever. I'm around level 111 with an Artorias cosplay build (Artorias's armor set from The Untended Graves, Artorias's shield from The Watchdogs Of Farron covenant which I upgraded to +5, Artorias's sword from transposing The Abyss Watchers' boss soul which I have upgraded to +5; if you can't tell, Artorias is my favorite character in the series; bro got so much aura) and I just killed The Twin Princes. I played Dark Souls I: Remastered before it playing DS3 (skipped DS2, I'll play it later).

The most recent thing I have done is enter the Ashes Of Ariandel DLC and I'm curious if anyone here thinks my theory has any merit.

My detail-oriented autism has noticed a few things similar between The Painted World Of Ariamis and The Painted World of Ariandel.

  1. The obvious detail is that its snowy in both locations, obviously.
  2. Maybe its obvious to some or isn't because you were trying to focus on surviving, exploration, or the task at hand, but both Ariamis and Ariandel are either on top of or nestled in/on a mountainous ridge.
  3. When the player first appears on the bridge spawn point of Ariamis before reaching the only bonfire of the level, you can hear the howling of wolves. In Ariandel, there are wolf enemies including a boss who's second stage is their giant wolf (I haven't fought this boss yet, I'm about to).
  4. There happen to be crow-like enemies in both Ariamis and Ariandel.
  5. Low-ball, I know, but there happens to be rickety bridge in both (serving as the gateway to the next 4/5ths of the DLC in Ariandel and as the spawn point of Ariamis).
  6. The sound effect when being sucked into both paintings (or, for Ariandel, a painting fragment) is the exact same, as well as the rippling, white glowing effect.
  7. Another low-ball, I know, don't give me flakk, I know. *Aria*ndel...? *Aria*mis? C'mon, even the naming conventions are similar.
  8. To me, this is one of the most interesting which makes it hard to believe its a coincidence like the others. The mother and dog-faced boy statue (that's what it is, so that's what I'll call it) is in both Ariamis and Ariandel. Its in the central courtyard of The Painted World Of Ariamis's central keep and going into the sewers and turning the lever makes her turn which opens the main path to the bridge that the optional Cross-Breed Priscilla boss fight is at the other end of. The statue (in Ariandel, as to be expected from the passage of time, mother's head is knocked off, the muzzle of the boy's face is worn, there's a big dent on the mother's back) is also in the room the player first meets Sister Friede (formerly Elfriede of The Sable Church of Londor) and inside of that disgusting pit of flies there is a lever and by turning the lever the statue turns just like the Ariamis statue does (and this lever opens the Sister Friede-Father Ariandel tagteam boss fight arena).

Now, what does this mean?

1st let me go over something else before I propose the idea, bringing up that if this which takes place in the painting is possible, then what I propose should be too. Gael's niece (she calls him "Uncle Gael", she's also just known as "The Painter") wants to escape the rot of The Painted World Of Ariandel by painting another world while inside Ariandel (another painted world inside a painted world). If that's possible (painting another painted world inside a painted world; like dreaming another dream inside of a dream) then my idea might be too.

What if Ariandel and Ariamis are not 2 different painted worlds, what if they're the same world that someone painted over? What if another person painted on the canvas that Ariamis was originally painted on, thus changing the structure of the painted world? All the clues match up that it is the same location at different points in time, so what if what caused it to change so drastically (since a painting doesn't have the same natural actors to cause radical change like the "real world" that DS1 and DS3 take place in that cause radical change making Lordran into Lothric) was someone trying to save The Painted World Of Ariamis? Its possible someone wanted to save it because the Anor Londo cathedral it was inside of in DS1 does not exist by the time of DS3, implying that under Pontiff's control of Irithyll, the cathedral was demolished and someone salvaged or saved the painting before or after the cathedral was rubble. Or, perhaps someone got their hands on the painting and decided to fix the world and expand what they saw (as well as allowing more space for more outcasts) and painted over the canvas, changing what the world originally looked like.

All in all, I believe that Ariamis and Ariandel are the same painting that someone added to after the events of DS1. I haven't finished the DLC yet, so if I'm 100% wrong (I've just opened the path to the arena which you fight Sister Friede in and I've just found where the Champion's Gravetender boss arena is, so I'm about 90% done I think and only need to kill those bosses, so I don't have the full breadth of knowledge everyone/anyone else might have since most of you all have likely completed this DLC) just tell me.
