Sona's 2nd book: The World's Worst Mom on Netgalley!

Not sure if it's been on Netgalley for a while but I saw Sona's book now available to request as an ARC (advanced copy). I'm kind of new on the site but I hope to get approved by the publisher to receive a copy!

Landlord says she'll change contract once giving PDCs. Is that legal?

Hello. I was asking for a 6-month contract instead of the usual 12 months. I've been here for 5 years. She said yearly ang renewal talaga. My landlord already asked me to pay 1k/mo extra due to this but negotiated it down to 500/mo.

I said I'll return the contract to her so she can change the date of effectivity because the contract says it shall take effect on JULY 16 2026 TO JUNE 16 2027. I want it changed to Jan 16 2027. The pic is her response.

She's my first landlord and never liked the way she handles business but most of the time, basta bayad ang renta walang problema.

Do I push her to change the contract first before signing and handing over the PDCs? I worry that she'll modify the contract to her advantage without my knowledge then have it notarized already. Then kapag aalis na ako, iipitin nya ako.

Pretermination clause of the contract states that if I cut the contract, I forfeit all deposits.

Please help. Thank you!

Trippy patterns while boiling milk

First time I've seen this trippy pattern once I opened my instant pot after boiling the milk. I'm not exactly creeped out but is there any fascinating reason that the dried up milk bits formed patterns like these?

Parents resisting parent education - wanting to focus on sessions instead

Hello! I live in SEA and occupational therapy is primarily paid out-of-pocket here. No insurance services cover my kiddos' therapy... so I understand that parents just want their children to receive the intervention as it's expensive, and not bother with any caregiver education -- which for me really affects the way home instructions will be done.

When I give them handouts to do as the parents' homework then eventually relate these to their kid's performance during feedback time, it seems that nothing is clicking or that they didn't read the material at all. They also keep asking the same questions that warranted the handouts in the first place, which would've been answered if they sat down with the content.

Apart from visual supports via these handouts, more careful parent feedback, and session videos.. what are others strategies you've found that helped with parent education, especially for those who believe that all intervention should be focused on the clients?

It's getting very frustrating having to repeat myself over and over with the same concepts, and them wondering why I don't have an exact answer to their questions -- I can answer them but first they need to digest some of the basic info and understand that context is important. Previously, when I tried to answer all in one go, they just forget about it since they got flooded with complex information.

They just gave me a reason to keep coming back

We often tip even when the bag handlers bring bags to the room. Or when paying for the breakfast buffet.. but this is topnotch. Plus they've got a 24-hour stay promotion as well

Nagorder sa Chowking kasi tinamad magluto. Placed my chao fan in a big bowl with a lot of tissue layers to see how much oil I could squeeze out of it....

Usually I'm a big fan despite the decreasing quality over the years because it's comfort food. Pero ito... Sobrang oily... Kulang pa ata ng draining. Disappointed but not surprised 🫠

2nd pic: transferred to baunan na chao fan. Pero parang kulang pa rin ata sa tissue 🫠

3rd pic: oil in the tissue post-experiment 😭

Di na ako tatamarin magluto ng chao fan ulit pagkatapos nito
