Why do you think Algeria struggles so much in International Olympiads (IMO, IPhO, IOI) compared to countries like Iran or Turkey?

For anyone wondering about the acronyms, these are the top international high school academic world championships:

IMO: Math Olympiad

IPhO: Physics Olympiad

IOI: Informatics / Computer Science Olympiad

How does our generation view the traditional Algerian family model?

With the changing economic realities in Algeria more women are graduating, working fulltime, and contributing financially there’s a lot of discussion among our generation about the traditional "autopilot" household model where 100% of the domestic mental load, cooking, and cleaning falls strictly on the wife.

I'm curious to hear from both guys and girls here: How do you view this old model? If you have criticisms of it, what are they? And for those who still prefer it, how do you see it working realistically if both partners have demanding careers?

Is it officially impossible for small advertisers to reach real support now? Locked out for 8 days by a billing glitch.

Hey everyone,

I’m reaching my breaking point here. Is anyone else experiencing a total blackout from human support on Meta right now? I’ve been trying to resolve a critical billing issue for the last 8 days and I’ve gotten absolutely nothing but automated AI bots repeating the exact same generic script, closing my cases without resolving them, and telling me to "wait."

Here is the nightmare loop I am stuck in:

  1. A few days ago, my bank (Wise) suddenly blocked my cards internally without my consent or any prior notification.
  2. Because of this sudden bank-side block, an automatic transaction failed on my Meta Ad Account.
  3. Meta immediately flagged it and locked the account. Now, I am completely trapped. I cannot pay the outstanding bill, and the interface completely refuses to let me add any new payment methods—neither fresh cards nor a verified PayPal account.

Every single time I try to add a payment method or hit pay, the screen just throws a generic crash banner: "Something went wrong. The payment systems encountered an error. You can try again now or restart the app..."

My bank account is fully active and heavily funded, but Meta's UI is so glitched it isn't even attempting to ping or verify the new payment methods. It's crashing internally on their backend, and because I'm not a massive agency spending six figures a month, I cannot get a single human to look at my tickets. The AI just loops and shuts the case down.

Has anyone successfully bypassed this "payment systems encountered an error" glitch when the UI freezes you out? How do you force a real human specialist to review a billing ledger lock? Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Last 7 days Google Trends comparison in Algeria: "كأس العالم" vs "انتخابات"

I was messing around with Google Trends data for Algeria over the past week (June 25 to July 2, 2026) and decided to pull the hourly search numbers comparing "كأس العالم" (World Cup) vs. "انتخابات" (Elections)

The gap is wild. Here is a quick breakdown of what the data shows:

The Giant Gap: On average, search interest for the World Cup is over 60 times higher than searches for the elections.

The Baseline: While "كأس العالم" maintains a steady, heavy volume with an average score of ~30/100, searches for "انتخابات" completely flatline near 0 (frequently dropping to <1 throughout the entire week).

How it breaks down across the Wilayas:

It's completely uniform. There isn't a single wilaya where elections gained traction.

In major hubs like Algiers, Oran, and Béjaïa, the split is a strict 99% (World Cup) vs. 1% (Elections).

In places like Constantine, Annaba, Blida, and Ouargla, election interest dropped below 1%, leaving the World Cup with a 100% sweep of the search share.

With the immense economic pressures, inflation, and structural challenges facing the country right now, is this 99% to 1% gap a sign of absolute political defeatism? Has football become the only remaining outlet where Algerians feel they can invest their collective emotional energy and hope?

Why I’m staying home today. The legislative elections are a theater and we all know it.

Wach ngolkom, it’s election morning in Algeria and honestly, I just can’t bring myself to care anymore.

Don't get me wrong, I’m not saying there are zero good people running. I’m sure there are some decent individuals who genuinely want to do good. But the problem isn't a few people the problem is the entire political scene itself. The whole framework is broken.

Think about it: the system literally does not allow anyone to harshly contradict or challenge the real "system views." Look at all the political parties we have right now. They fall into two categories: either they are completely cheering for the current rulers, or they are barely opposition just for show, playing their part to make things look democratic.

Ever since I was a kid, it has felt like a massive theater production. A comedy where the script is already written, the actors are assigned their roles, and absolutely nothing real ever happens or changes after the curtains close.

How can anyone who actually wants deep, structural change trust this setup? If the system honestly wants us to show up and vote, they need to do something basic first: let our voices be raised and actually heard before the election even starts. If you don't even let people speak freely or challenge the status quo during normal days, coming to ask for our votes on election day is just an insult to our intelligence.

I’m done participating in a play I didn’t write. Anyone else feeling the same vibe today?

Djalal bousmina talking about Wassim Karcouche health state

Unacceptable and heartbreaking. What happened to young Wassim https://www.instagram.com/wassimkar6/ at The Tall Ship in Boston during the Morocco-Netherlands game is devastating. A football match should never end in violence against a child.

We are raising our voices to demand accountability and justice for Wassim. Sending him and his family continuous prayers for physical and emotional healing.

Please keep Wassim in your thoughts and share his story to ensure justice is served.

How the European Far-Right Mask is Completely Slipping

Who is this guy?

For those who don't know him, that is Geert Wilders. He is a prominent Dutch politician who has led the far-right Party for Freedom (PVV) for two decades. Wilders has built his entire political career on hardcore anti-immigration, anti-Islam, and specifically anti-Moroccan/anti-North African rhetoric.

What did he do here?

A Moroccan sports account posted a picture of Moroccan players performing sujood captioned inchaAllah la victoire . Wilders quote-tweeted this harmless sports celebration with a direct, profane insult: Fck Allah.

What's crazy is that 15–20 years ago, a tweet like this from a major politician would have destroyed their career. Today? He is one of the most powerful political figures in the Netherlands, and his party won the most seats in their parliament.

Why this matters to us

When European populists feel pressure over economic failures, inflation, or healthcare crises, they always fall back on their reliable business model: scapegoating North africans.
What do you guys think about this escalation? How do you see the next few years playing out for North Africans in Europe?

How would a far-right victory in France impact the Algerian diaspora and domestic political dynamics in Algeria?

With the deep political shifts happening across Europe, and recent electoral data highlighting the realistic possibility of the far right such as Jordan Bardella or Marine Le Pens National Rally taking full power in future French elections, I wanted to open a rational discussion on how this scenario might ripple back to us in Algeria.

The European far-right explicitly campaigns on tightening immigration laws, abolishing birthright citizenship (droit du sol), deporting unemployed foreign nationals, and restricting cultural/religious visibility in public spaces. How do you think France's millions of Algerians and dual citizens will be affected? Will we witness a wave of reverse migration back to Algeria, or a difficult, forced adaptation to a hostile legal and social reality?

A far-right takeover at the Élysée Palace could fundamentally rewrite local political narratives:

  • The Ruling Class & Sovereigntists: Will they capitalize on this shift to double down on "national sovereignty" and accelerate Algeria's pivot toward Eastern powers (Russia, China, or the BRICS bloc) as an alternative to traditional Euro-Mediterranean partnerships?
  • Islamist Movements: Will a combative, anti-Muslim government in France give Algerian Islamist factions fresh political fuel to revive their "defense of identity" rhetoric and rally broader grassroots support?
  • Liberal & Francophile Elites: How will local factions that historically championed Western models or maintained deep cultural and economic ties with France navigate this? Will they face a severe crisis of legitimacy in the eyes of the public?

Meta Ads Billing Hard-Lock Glitch? System rejecting all new cards instantly (Server Error) after a bank-side card block. Need advice!

72 hours ago, a routine payment failed. I contacted my bank (Wise), and they admitted they had silently blocked my old digital card for a security update without notifying me. That’s the only reason the payment bounced.

The Current Problem:

Because of that sudden bounce, Meta’s automated fraud system seems to have triggered a heavy backend security lock / false-positive flag on my ad account's billing router.

  • I have issued brand new, fully active cards tied to the exact same Wise IBAN.
  • I waited out a full 72-hour strict cooldown without touching the account to let the system cool down.
  • I tried adding the cards via an Incognito window on mobile 4G data to break any browser session cache.

The Result:

Every single time I click "Pay Now" or try to add a new card, the interface throws an immediate hard system error. My banks confirm that Meta isn't even attempting to ping or authorize the cards. The billing gateway itself is completely frozen and blind to changes.

Meta support chat is stuck in an AI loop ("Standard review is active, wait it out").

Has anyone dealt with this specific gateway freeze? Is there a known workaround to force a manual billing sync (like through Business Suite level payment methods), or am I forced to just spin up a brand new Ad Account under the Business Manager and move my pixels/campaigns over?

Appreciate any advice or workarounds you guys have!

Starting GHL from Algeria ($97 plan) – How do you handle billing without Stripe?

I’m planning to buy the $97 Starter plan to build out a sub-account for a prospective client. They’re really interested, and if things go well, they’ll be paying a monthly subscription to keep using it.

Here’s my challenge: I’m based in Algeria, so setting up a standard Stripe account isn't an option for me right now. Because I'll be on the Starter plan, I already know I have to manage user access and billing manually.

For international agency owners who can't use Stripe, how are you collecting monthly payments from your clients?

  1. Are you using GHL's native PayPal integration to collect recurring invoices, or do you handle everything externally through something like Wise or Payoneer?
  2. If you use a completely external checkout, how smooth is it to just manually log into GHL and toggle their account active/suspended based on their payment status?
  3. Any specific workarounds or payment gateways you'd recommend for someone in North Africa trying to bill global or local clients?

Trying to figure out the smoothest workflow before I pull the trigger and buy the subscription. Thanks for any insight!

The Sociology of Consumerism in Algeria: Is "Flexing" Just Empty Materialism or a Psychological Coping Mechanism?

Disclaimer: Ai written post

Hey everyone,

I wanted to open up a calm, non-judgmental sociological discussion about how dominant consumerism and "flexing culture" have become in the Algerian street today.

If you look at our daily lives, showing off—whether it's the phone you carry, the brands you wear (even if they’re high-quality replicas or bought on credit), or posting from high-end spots—is no longer just a passing trend. It has practically become the main driver of social interaction. But if we analyze this deeply, we realize we aren’t just looking at "shallow vanity." It's actually much more complex:

  1. Consumerism as an Economic Coping Mechanism: In a climate of inflation where achieving long-term milestones (like buying a house or investing) feels out of reach, people instinctively turn to "micro-luxuries." Buying a premium phone or hanging out at a trendy lounge gives young guys and girls an immediate, temporary sense of well-being and status. It's a psychological offset for broader economic frustrations.
  2. The Battle to Redefine Identity: Even the recent trend of traveling to rural villages and posting photos in traditional attire—while sometimes looking like it's just done for the likes—reflects a deeper urge among youth to reconnect with their roots (re-indigenization). They are trying to bridge the gap between modern digital tools and pride in their local heritage.
  3. The Toxic Feedback Loop: This lifestyle has created a massive mismatch in modern relationships and marriage expectations. Both guys and girls are under immense pressure to meet polished, highly unrealistic visual standards imported from social media. This constant comparison is exhausting everyone both financially and mentally.

That said, societies don't just collapse culturally overnight; they evolve defense mechanisms. Today, we are also seeing the rise of a counter-movement: growing conversations around financial literacy, genuine entrepreneurship, and calling out fake lifestyles on the very same platforms.

Questions for discussion: How do you see this consumerist pressure affecting your daily life and relationships? Do you view it as a transitional phase the society is passing through before reaching consumer maturity, or is it a structural trap we need to actively fight by building a real culture of production?

Let’s hear your thoughts. Keep it objective!
