Nu to me amp: the Marshall Mode 4
I already had the cab, so I figured it’d be pretty hard to go wrong with a matching THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY WATT head. Am I shouting? I accidentally on purpose turned the master volume above halfway and now I’m deaf.
Channel 2 definitely has that JCM DNA. More gain than most people would ever need.
I am not most people. I play sludge/doom. This halfstack is louder than any halfstack I’ve ever been in a room with. Ungodly amounts of gain, low end, and a surprisingly complex set of controls to make sure you cut in a mix while staying filthy. No, I will not be using the “scoop” switch.
I don’t have a sound sample of the amp, but you’ll hear me playing songs from heavylean.bandcamp.com all over upstate New York in the months and years to come. Opening for Haunt at No Fun on June 21st and will be rocking this setup.
