Turned the Abandoned Power into a hydroelectric power station

I built the Abandoned power plant over the water between the main island and another island in Palette Town. I then fixed it up into a two-story hydroelectric power station filled with rows of water wheels.

I raised the land around the neighboring island and built a system or rivers and ponds. One river leads to a waterfall next to the plant. Some windmills power a pumping station that carries the water through pipes to the power plant. Pipes in the plant drop the water from the ceiling, which runs down channels to power water wheels on the top floor. That water falls through holes in the ceiling to do the same thing again on the bottom floor. Pipes then carry the water outside to the ocean. (Or at least that is how is designed to look)

I also added more windows, an elevator, and some lifts connecting to the pumping station and town.

The power plant connects to my town on the top floor and to my storage bunker on the lower floor.

Game: Six degrees of Xenomorph

There is an old game people used to play called "six degrees of Kevin Bacon", where people had to connect an actor back to Kevin Bacon by movies two actors/actresses appeared in as few steps as possible (ideally six or less).

I realized that since aliens and predators have fought a lot of characters in a lot of universes, we could do something similar with crossossovers

The rules are simple. Name a character that has not directly encountered aliens or predators. Then other redditors have to connect them Xenomorphs in as few steps of crossovers or shared universes as possible. Note that these should be cases where the characters are both treated as real, so a character just watching Aliens, or having a parody or reference to Aliens, doesn't count. So Space Balls counts because it has a shared character (Kane), but Men in White doesn't because it is just a reference ("push here if you are named Ripley").

For example, let's take Mickey Mouse

  1. Mickey Mouse and Snow White appear in Kingdom hearts
  2. Snow White and Bowser both appear in the Wreck it Ralph series
  3. Bowser and Donkey Kong both appear in the Mario movie
  4. Donkey Kong has an autograph of King Kong in the Donkey Kong Country TV show, so King Kong exists in The DKC universe
  5. King Kong and Batman both appear in Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. King Kong
  6. Batman fights Xenomorphs in Batman/Aliens

Here is a couple to get you started

  • Barbie
  • Eric Cartman
  • Bugs Bunny
  • Dr. Who

Forget Anime that ended too soon. What Anime ended exactly where it should have?

I hear a lot about anime that ended well before the manga or other source material, leaving fans disappointing. But that isn't always a bad thing. What about Anime benefited from ending well before the source?

Example:

Snow White with the Red Hair. The Manga was great...for a while. But it had already been running for nearly ten years when the anime came out, and is still going on now another ten years later. The manga had jumped the shark early on, and by the time the anime came out had been dragging on without making any real progress for years. The Anime covered the most significant and heartwarming parts of the MCs' relationship, wisely ending just before things started getting dull.

Ah! My Goddess / Oh My Goddess! The manga didn't get as bad as the previous, but it did go on a really long time, with the stories being a handful of common themes repeated with different variations or combinations (e.g., Skuld's invention backfiring, Urd's attempts to push the MCs' relationship backfiring, a previous love interest gets in the way, etc.). The TV anime, which is the only anime adaptation to actually follow the plot of the manga even remotely, did a good job of picking out some of the most interesting and significant stories from the early manga.

My wallless house

This may be common knowledge, but while doing another build I realized the doors and walls of a block house don't have to be at the same level as the floor. So I was able to build a 12x11 block house on open ground by digging a 1 block high open area and a wooden gate with a 2 block open area in front of it then burying it all under one layer of blocks.

The type of ground doesn't matter, I am using floor blocks to help me keep track of the borders and to encourage other pokemon to visit.

My ditto doesn't like it, of course. I will add lights, furniture, and decorations next. But I wanted to show how minimalist a house can be since I couldn't find a build exactly like this on this sub.

"Hey, this isn't funny. Let me out!"

I swear this wasn't staged. I tried chatting but jumped into bed instead, and I couldn't figure out how to get up again.
