Distressing morning, after needing to put my cat of 16 years to sleep, went to head out again to return a faulty item to a store. Forgot my boot was open, backed into garage wall and bent the corner of the boot.
No longer a mint car and haven't even had my first fortnightly payment.
I have always had Toyota's my whole life, went from those tiny 2 door Carolla’s to a Yaris. The Yaris no longer suits my needs (Basically way too small to fit all my outdoor stuff in).
I am very Outdoorsy now with Kayaking/camping and going to places like Waikaremoana and other unsealed/ forestry roads.
I have been looking and trying everything Toyota from Rav4's, Carolla Cross, Touring’s. Also, all other Medium SUV's via Honda, Kia, Hyundai, Mazda etc. Inc Chinese brands like MG.

It seems that, unless I am going to go to something expensive. Having hybrid, AWD and something more than a puncture repair kit is probably not going to happen.
Everyone always says that Subarus are super expensive to maintain. I was even told, don’t get one as you need to replace the gearbox after 100,000km and they die often.
I am really wondering with those who actually fix, service, tune cars. ). Is the yearly maintenance cost of driving a Subaru that significantly more? By how much?
Lets Say Subaru Crosstrek – late model. 150,000km over 10 years, serviced yearly. Compare that to other car brands in the same conditions?
Budget: Unknown right now. Would be going new if it I don't get a touring.

I am looking for a newish vehicle that is hybird/AWD saw this which I like but It only comes with a tyre repair kit. Which I dont want as my times I have had severe tears/explosed tire has been when I was off grid and a good hours drive to the nearest town with a tyre store.
I stopped and asked a tyre place and they said there would be no where to mount space saver and wouldnt be comfortable to try because of the hybird cables.
Has anyone done this before, mounted their own? Dealers suggested just put a spare tyre on top of the boot but that would completley defeat the puyrpouse of getting a bigger car. May as well stick with my yaris.
So, my Mother came to me with this parking breach notice, she has already called BS on this as she has most defiantly not parked her car for over 2 years as she actually drives her car but the problem is when she looked she could not find anywhere to be "I thnk you made a mistake" and contest. Now she is not tecnically competent i did eventually find it in the same place you pay, its just the same button but this has lead me to believe they have deliberitley made it so vauge and hard to do that timid people would probably just pay up scared this would go to collections.
Mum said she is just going to ignore it but I think this bullshit needs to be called out.
Also I should say, that you only get 250 characters to appeal, and for some reason cant put the correct addresses in making the form pretty bad.
Again something so vauge, she thinks that "Mt wellington retail center" could be IKEA but at this stage it could be any shopping complex in that area.

I have been in the market for awhile to get a new bigger car (going from a Yaris) for all the outdoor stuff I now do (lots of gravel roads)
I was very close to getting the AWD S Cross at the beginning of the year but did not really like that it was only partial hybrid and also really old tech (I want more than 1 USB port and didn't want to mess around with electronics cand cutting into things to install more where I wanted them).
Does anyone know if they are doing a revamp? I know the last one was exterior only so was hoping they would be doing an interior one and maybe doing proper hybird.
Looking on youtube and some websites there seems to be lots of AI type videos but nothing really "Real".
Note: I did already put down a refundable deposit for the entry level AWD Rav 4 when it comes out but the first ones are not due in my country until early next year so if something was out later this year, i probably would be going for that. Wanted something before the summer (New Zealand).
