Okay so here is my problem, for my last 20-30 vlogs or so, I use custom captions throughout my entire video. (Auto captions and then I go back and clean them up)

I do this because in my videos I love to talk to locals and have conversations. That’s a big part of my travel vlogs. But for example, when in Africa, some people speak with an accent that is hard to understand, and I fear my audience won’t know what they are saying. Even my auto captions mistake what they say at times.

Therefore I use caption and listen to what they say carefully, and fix the errors. Now what is the problem you might say? Well, doing this makes editing take 2-3 times longer.

I want to be consistent and post a new video everyday. I am capable of doing so, but editing has always gotten me caught up.

My request is that you maybe watch a few minutes of my video and tell me whether or not the caption are necessary. If not, I would like to do always with them entirely and focus on just cutting my videos up with the good parts, rather than spending so much time on caption. I also just started to do short talks/podcasts. Please ignore those videos and only look at my travel vlogs. As I don’t use caption when it’s just me talking to the camera for the entire video.

I’m assuming I don’t need to caption my videos, but also, I would like to get feedback from you guys before making this decision.

After doing this for 6 months most of my videos get around 1K views but my last four have done very well. 3 of those four are my best performing videos on my entire channel.

I can’t tell if I’m just getting better at this (I think I am) or if it’s because I am gaining more subs but being consistent seems to be working.

I try to post every 5 days and I know I can because I have many videos back logged.

Just wanted to share some success I’m having.. feels good. Was really surprised my last video got 10K. Was very exciting for me

I made a three and a half hour long raw vlog while in Kenya

The views are only at 1.3K but I have gotten 634 hours watch time with constant steady growth Owen the few months

This is only with 13 percent retention. Which is not great I’m aware

This video is about me exploring a east market market and buying things for good
Prices but I had no great live thumbnail beside these two

I see for some, watch hours are hard to get but for me I’m struggling with subs

I would like to know what you guys think. I post 6 videos a month (one every 5 days). I don’t do shorts. My first month was a flop, second month has picked up greatly
