This is to align with the Shorts view count update from last year.

How do you balance your Work and Travel Vlogging?
I currently do 3 things, I have a Full-time as a Multimedia Specialist for a Media company, I do Travel vlogging for 2 years (Monetized), and lastly I do Freelance as a Drone Pilot. Now for those in my same position, I would like to ask the ff questions:
Hi guys,
I'm a new creator, showing interesting places around the world in my videos. I had a first video with 520 views, 2nd video with and appealing (imho) thumbnail and good title received after 24 hours ZERO views and only 4 impressions. The topic is popular so it's not a tiny niche. I re-uploaded my 2nd clip to change a music and make it a bit shorter, the thumbnail, description and the title were changed.

I'm wondering what may be the reason for the poor performance of my 2nd clip.
I really don't want extra views since it's biasing audience for the clip and the channel - I just want your feedback to understand what I did wrong and what can be improved to increase the number of impressions.
Thanks in advance for each feedback

Though this increase is supposed to improve incentives, I feel like part of this is to combat AI and slop content. This first-tier entry into the YPP of 500 subs and 3000 hours hasn't changed.

I sat down and look at my YT studio and saw that while laying in bed chilling.. first it made me absolutely smile so hard it hurt my face and then I immediately got my ass up and started editing 😂
I started taking my YouTube channel more seriously recently. It’s still very small (86 subscribers 😄), but I’ve already made enough videos to realize that the part I need to improve isn’t really filming or editing — it’s understanding what makes a video actually work on YouTube.
I’m mainly looking to get better at:
My channel is long-form travel content, so I’m especially interested in something that applies to that rather than Shorts/TikTok growth.
I’m happy to pay for a course if it’s genuinely useful. I’d also be interested in something that includes feedback/coaching on your actual channel rather than only prerecorded lessons.
I’m not really looking for a course about starting a YouTube channel, equipment, editing basics, monetization, selling courses, etc. I feel like I need to get much better at making videos people actually want to click on and keep watching first.
Has anyone here taken a course or worked with a YouTube coach that genuinely helped you improve? What would you recommend, or avoid?
I’d especially love recommendations from people who actually paid for the course/coaching themselves rather than affiliates. 😄
Looking for a Travel & Content Partner for a Long-Term World Trip
I'm planning a long-term world trip and I'm looking for someone who wants to travel, explore different countries, and create video content together.
The idea isn't just to be travel buddies. I'd like to build a small travel-content project together while experiencing the world.
I already have my own camera and video equipment, so you don't need to have professional equipment. I'd mainly be looking for someone who is interested in being part of the journey and creating content together.
Important: This is not a paid job and there is no salary or fixed payment. We would be traveling as partners, sharing our own travel expenses and working together on the content.
What I'm looking for:
The plan is flexible, but Southeast Asia is likely to be one of the first regions.
I'm not expecting us to commit to a year immediately. I'd rather start with a 1–3 week trip, see if we work well together, and then decide whether to continue.
If you're seriously interested, send me a message telling me:
I'm looking for someone who genuinely wants to travel, create, and build something together, not just someone looking for a free trip.

Hi,
We have a new channel, very much in the early stages. We are finding our style and learning new skills. I really enjoy the creative side of this so far, but definitely need to speed things up with my editing!
We just shoot on an old iPhone for now and use filmora for editing, canva for thumbnails (I'm terrible at them).
The plan is to do cinematic style travel vlogs, but provide some use to people. This will be complimented by accommodation tours/info, travel guides and some videos relating more to budget.
We are both older millennials, I've had some horrible health problems prompting a desire to travel while I can. Instead of waiting for retirement, we are working hard to save now and in 2028 we will be taking a grown up gap year, whatever that means - not sure we are that grown up. We will have lots of content then, but we have time now to learn, to try and build an audience and really develop the channel.
I've uploaded three videos to our channel from a recent trip to Scotland. One travel guide, one accommodation tour and one short video on a point of interest to visit. I'd really appreciate honest feedback or advice, even if it's just general and not really specific to our content.
It would be really helpful for advice on packaging (thumbnails + title) as I'm trying different styles for now, but I would honestly prefer just nice clean cinematic style thumbnails (but realise they aren't often the most grabbing).
Next really is the videos themselves, hook, pacing etc. constructive advice would be great!
Happy to return the favour for folks too, though I'm not really best placed to advise anyone! But happy to give general feedback as a viewer!
Channel is https://youtube.com/@loftsonlife?si=0GCTXLPW6C4jo1mg
Thanks all! ☺️
Is anyone else cross posting to Rumble? We received an email from them that we should consider this - seems like it’s all news/gaming/politics but I’ve sent some questions back. Any thoughts here?
I'm looking for a short video (~2 minutes) that went viral around 2015–2018.
It’s about a man who gets fired from his job and whose girlfriend leaves him. He travels to a beach destination full of parties, meets two girls, and they go to parties together in his open off-road car. He ends up sleeping with a girl dressed in a white dress. At the end of the video, his boss calls him and he ignores the call.
The video is well-edited and has a good soundtrack.
Back then on YouTube, the thumbnail showed a white blonde girl sitting on the beach in a bikini.
After big tech laid us off and most of our network (I recommend laughing or it’s just sad) we made several weird pivots to maintain for a long while before very recently deciding that that’s a dumb plan. Well, a plan that isn’t going anywhere fast enough anyway.
So we started this YouTube channel last week. And thought it had just enough content to see what you, the good people, thought. We built a small instagram that is nimble to a point but we could really use some clearer feedback and thoughts and advice (pretty please and thank you)
We are into Urbex, cemeteries, photography, videography, landscapes, restoration, making a living, eating food when necessary, traveling in prehistoric economic times, making jokes that hopefully land, TRAINS
We don’t have any digital media experience whatsoever so treat me like a preborn deer with minimal brain cells
Hey everyone! I’ve just uploaded a video from two days in the Lofoten Islands, travelling with my girlfriend.
I’m trying to make my English voiceovers feel more natural while keeping a cinematic travel style. I’d genuinely appreciate feedback on the pacing, audio balance and whether the title/thumbnail make you want to watch.
Here’s the video: The Lofoten Islands Don’t Look Real
Thanks!
Hey guys,
I’m making this post because I’m starting to feel stagnant with my side project/passion project. Last year I started working on making travel content based on my adventures I’ve been on.
I’ve had moments where my videos on TikTok would go slightly viral, but nothing too crazy (~20k views, and decent engagement). The motivation and passionate is still there, but I want to know how I can start taking a seriously and adopting a mindset of “I’m gonna make this a full-time job”
I understand the travel world is a bit oversaturated, but my specific niche owns in on more than just the scenic social media shots. I like talking about the interstate system, random gas stations, roadside attractions, why it’s fun for me to drive eight hours across the Midwest, etc. I also talk about and show my hiking adventures and national Park stories.
I’ve communicated with brands online and I’ve gotten responses from such brands as Camping World®, REI, and state travel accounts. “Visit South Dakota” being one.
If anybody can lend me some advice or point me in the right direction to truly take this more seriously. Examples of something I wanna do is start making my own graphics for itineraries and Instagram posts, design my own maps and find a better way to execute my niche.
Thank you!
