I adore Puracane, so anything similar to them I would love. I also like more pop-y sounding artists with trip hop influences, like After. I enjoy Björk's first two albums too. I'd love some more reccomendations as I'd love to dive into the genre more. Thanks!!

as a big music and countries nerd I use this website to track what countries my music is coming from. As you can see I am lacking the most in central asia and africa. If anyone has some cool hyperpop or adjacent reccomendations from any missing countries I'd be happy! like how the hell am missing mexico!

If Katseye and their fans want to be separated from the Kpop label they're gonna need to step up their vocal game. Eyekons (who seem to be predominantly kpop fans, so the bar is pretty low) have been praising their new song for giving vocals but to be honest the song is pretty easy to sing in comparison to what other western girl groups were (and still are, look at Flo for example) putting out. Just because they're no longer talk-chanting doesn't mean they're serving crazy vocals.
I'm not one to praise Fifth Harmony because let's be honest they were a mess but even their vocals (more so individually than as a group, but still) were better than Katseye and they easily could've done Animal better in my opinion. Even their vocal tones would've made it more interesting as you can actually differentiate the five of their voices, unlike Katseye.
I added Little Mix to the image as to me they are the blueprint for vocals in a girl group. It kills me that weaker vocalists with weaker music have constantly outshone them. If they were to put out something like Animal it would be one of their least interesting songs vocally and that shows how low the bar is for the people praising Katseye rn. Little Mix did record a demo for Gabriela amd im sure if they had released it they'd actually be able to perform it live, something the Katseye girls have persistently struggled with.
Overall....I am pleased they're taking a slightly better route but I'm sure it won't last long considering they're planning on releasing that Hootie Fruitie bullshit. Also kind of weird that their only half decent songs are throwaways from other artists. They need to step tf up if they want to gain any new fans besides 12 year old kpop stans.
