ENTERPRISE IS RIGHT - Should TPIR Do A Star Trek Themed Episode For The 60th?

Here are my musings for a Star Trek Themed episode of TPIR:

Enterprise Is Right Logo

I’m sure you can imagine how excited Star Trek fans would be to come to the studio dressed in costumes and then getting on stage with a Star Trek themed episode. It would be important to remind the fans to leave all their props and weapons at home, such as Communicators, Phasers, Klingon weapons and the like, but I think the viewers at home would be thrilled to see so many Trek fans in the studio.

Here is what I would recommend: (all these images were done in Photoshop, there is NO A.I. or LLM involved here).

First, I would change up the cold open a bit, start with a darkened studio and push in on George Grey standing behind a scaled down version of the “Guardian Of Forever” (similar to his cotton candy look from the Halloween special). He would then say:

A contestant. Since before your sun burned hot in space and before your race was born, I have awaited a contestant...

George As The Guardian Of Forever

Name 1 - Come on down...

Name 2 - Come on down...

Name 3 - Come on down...

Name 4 - Come on down...

You are the first four contestants on a very special edition of “Enterprise Is Right”!

And now our very own Captain Kirk... Drew Carey.

At this point I would have Drew and the rest of the cast wearing TOS type of uniforms or costumes from the original series. Carey in Kirk’s gold tunic and outfit. These could be easily sourced locally.

When contestants bid on a prize to get on stage, the amounts they say could quickly beam in very similar to what they did with the Survivor episode or the Christmas show overlay on the amount bid.

As for games, the ones I’m presenting here are mostly just overlays or minor additions to current games. For example: “Cliff Hangers” would become “Kirk Hangers” with a little cartoon Kirk from the Animated Series.

Kirk Hangers

TAS Era Kirk

As a hidden second chance in the game that if Kirk goes over the edge, a small Spock wearing rocket boots would come up to save him, just like what was seen in Star Trek V. I would use a magnet in the Kirk and Spock figures so there's a chance it doesn't work.

Since you need two car games for the episode I would suggest “Rat Race” become “Tribble Race” or better still “Tribble Trouble” for the alliteration. You would only have to create a large flat tribble to cover up your rat on the signage, and a coverup for the name. As for creating tribbles you could simply take the tails and eyes off your rats they pretty much instantly become tribbles. I would suggest changing the sound of rats to the sounds of tribbles purring.

Tribble Trouble

The second car game I would suggest is a very deep cut to the original series and change “Lucky Seven” into “Gary Seven”. Same game play, just an updated name.

Gary $even

Another simple game to change would be “Check Out” which could easily be changed to “Chekov”, the game play would remain the same (though in this example I have used actual Trek props instead of grocery items).

Chekov Game

The “Range Finder” would become “Phaser Range Finder”, again just a minor overlay and the addition of a Phaser to the moving planchette.

Phaser Range Game

Phaser Planchette

The other obvious game to change would be “Back to...” and change it to “Back to ‘66” and even have an AMT model kit of the Enterprise as something that would have to be guessed. Sadly there were very few other Trek related toys created in 1966, most didn’t show up until 1968 to 1970.

Back To '66

Enterprise Model

I have steered clear of all the other series and focused on the one that is celebrating it’s 60th. Though it’s incredibly tempting to have PICARDO instead of PLINKO or SPOCKO even though you would need a visual reference to Spock from “A Piece Of The Action”. Spocko might be too deep of a cut even for Trek fans.

I look forward to everyone's thoughts...

They need to make a new series called "Columboed"... Hear me out...

I have ruminated on this for a long time, but I think they could/should make a whole series called "Columboed". Here's the pitch...

It's a courtroom series where all the people arrested by Columbo have their trials, each week they do one case from the classic series where the defendant is on the actual trial for their crimes. And Columbo is referenced as the lead on the case but is rarely seen (CGI) his methods and the way he does things are brought into question.

In many of the episodes the actual evidence is very slim, a bite of cheese comes to mind and the defendants build their cases over time against the evidence and situations at hand. Most of the time when Columbo nails someone, it's because they admitted it. Very civilized. But once you get those people into a trial with "Boston Legal" kind of lawyers seeing how they get their clients off could be very entertaining. William Shatner could play THREE ROLES! Defendant, Lawyer and court reporter.

This includes his constant references to Mrs. Columbo and her expertise on various topics like horticulture and cooking. The third season ends with the actual reveal of Mrs. Columbo... who has becomes a defense lawyer and then the sparks will fly. LOL

Just something to make you all smile today.

So if I'm typing up a story or a post, occasionally I'll think of a word that I can't properly/easily spell. (i.e. prescient) I would like Siri to just display the word and not talk about it or spell it out loud. I keep my iPhone on the bottom of my monitor, it's in my eyeline and I just want to glance down and then type the word in my document.

Is there no way to get it to show me the word, without it talking about the word? If I say spell "prescient", it will spell it out loud and display it. If I ask it to display the word prescient, it will display it and then start babbling about the word. I just need to see the word so I can type it properly. Is this possible?

--- I also don't understand why in the year of 2026 we can't set an alarm for next Tuesday at 7am until 7:05am on Monday. LOL

Not 100% sure how Twitch handles this, but are the people who are paying SUBS to Filian STILL paying for a subscription each month? This would mean for the last five months a HUGE number of people are paying for very little content being produced?

I know there are Fansly and OF content creators that don't put out a lot of content out still pay for their subscription. If I paid for the last five months of zero content, I might consider unsubbing and then re-subbing when she returns.

Or does Twitch see there's not content being created and they simply don't charge for the subscription that month? Not judging, just asking.

I don't say this lightly, but there was some fuckery going on tonight on this episode. They were bidding on a Sonos system, and yes I know they are expensive, but when the first guy bid over five grand the audience gasped. At home I was like well you are in the wrong place. GO HOME AMATEUR!

https://preview.redd.it/1dvo4itc7fzg1.jpg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=460ba1e57783d863a074bc35efabd31ceea42767

Then the next person bid $5200? The next $5750! I was screaming ONE DOLLAR! The last person bid $5001. I kept waiting for the buzzer saying they all overbid. The actual price was $5554! WHAT THE FUCK??? Normally the prizes are like between $500 to $1000.

So you are telling me, that FOUR PEOPLE who were not somehow tipped off about the price all bid within a few hundred dollars of the actual price? Which was insane? There was some real fuckery afoot here.

At first I thought it was like an edit issue, like they all bid $500 to $1000 dollars but the highest bid would have won. So did they go back and tell them... um... maybe start your bids a little higher? I can't imagine that happening, but it's Canada baby! Anything goes when Howie is there.

I just can not believe four people who don't know each other and don't work for Sonos could possibly know this thing cost FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS! What the actual fuck??

Sadly I have to watch the final three episodes, but I will not be happy about it.
