Which color letters?

The tailgate on my ‘75 GMC has been on the truck since 1978 so switching it out for a correct gmc version feels wrong. That being said I’ve been debating on painting or add vinyl letters to the raised CHEVROLET. Its tailgate is currently completely blue so the mismatched tailgate flys a little under the radar. Would you add color? White feels the most classic but red matches the GMC on the grill as well as the license plate letters…

Help: 2zz-ge tapping when warm

Any seasoned Toyota techs care to lend an ear?

I have a 05 Lotus Elise with a 2zz-ge engine (20k miles) that has a warm tapping noise only at idle.

From the exterior the noise is most prominent from below/near rear wheels. With a stethoscope the noise is most sharp within 2 inches either direction of the block/bell housing junction and slightly more prominent on exhaust side vs intake.

Noise will speed up with the engine, but doesn’t get louder and very quickly gets drowned out or goes away with revs. Doesn’t change with depressing the clutch or putting it in gear. Oil change 350 miles ago with 5w40 synth castrol edge

I pulled the valve cover and cams looked good, chain had good tension, lift bolts had mild wear, have not yet checked valve clearance though. Planning on pulling the belt off tonight to see if it’s a pulley, but it’s definitely loudest from the other end of the engine.

An uncle who is a mechanic but doesn’t have experience with Toyotas says it doesn’t sound like any type of rod bear or piston slap that he’s heard before.

What direction should I go? Can valve train noise show up this low? Exhaust leak? Fly wheel bolt or something else?

Best tire size? (aesthetically)

Just picked up this ‘75 C15 and it’ll need new tires right away. It’s my first square body so I’m still trying to learn as much as I can. Sounds like 265 or 31” tires are the upper limit for stock. Is that what everyone usually goes with? It’ll just be an “around town truck” hauling yard waste and such, so I don’t actually need anything special in terms of tires, but wanted to buy whatever LOOKS the best. Current tires are 235/75R15

Thoughts?

Check these out!

**1950s Atomic Space Age Silvertone Syntronic Stereo System**

These just came across my marketplace feed but unfortunately I don’t have the right space/house to showcase them. I wish there were more modern speakers that went this bold with design. (B&O aside) Anyways, thought yall might find them interesting!
