Unorthodox take on Cthulhu

A bit more modern sci-fi esque, and more deep sea ocean elements.

Stingray, sea angel, sea squirt, sea comb, red deep sea jellyfish, chimaera shark, etc. Supposed to be a little translucent in some body parts. Mouth opens up like a sea angel. Has little flipper feet in the middle, “wings”, long trailing tentacles etc

Rate core/Ab routine:

Hi, trying to get more visible abs rn during summer, or at least to just get a head start during summer. Always had body image issues. Don’t know too much about workout science, I just get knowledge from my brother. 130≈ lbs, 173cm, trying to get leaner. Have a bit of fat but on (lowerish) belly. Everything else is either lean/a little defined. If I don’t eat for a while, my stomach almost looks normal. Tbh I think I’d prefer a smaller defined waist instead of a big muscly bulging wide one.

Admittedly 70% of the reason is for aesthetics/looks, 30% is to stop bedrotting all the time, I just want to feel confident wearing a tank top

Current routine: this is 1 set, I’m not super strong right now but hopefully will increase it later on. Currently beginner so it’s difficult to do bicycle kicks/russian twist, I roll a lot.

  • Stretches
  • Crunch (40)
  • Toe touch (25)
  • Glute bridge (40)
  • Plank (1:30)
  • Side plank (1:30)
  • Flutter kick (1 min)
  • Dead bug (2 min)
  • Leg raise (1 min)
  • Reverse plank (2 min)
  • V in & out (1 min)
  • Reverse crunch (1 min)
  • Bicycle kick (to your ability)
  • Russian twist (to your ability)

I also have cubicle style job for like 8 hours, so I sometimes try to do some stretches or like some movement in the chair: like seated knee raises, leg raises, diagonal knee raises, etc

Sometimes after I do it (lying leg raises etc) I get some pain on my iliac crest (hip flexor?). Does this mean I’m doing it wrong? The next day, I’ll get the usual muscle aches. Though after a few days of doing the routine, it aches less/lasts less. Should it be normal to have your abs be burning the next day? For me it’s just a bit, its strongest right after.

Trying to be more active (gym park home gym etc), I drink a lot more water (12 cups at least) now; eat very little sugar now too, no junk food. I eat really Mediterranean/east asian, like 20% carbs 35% protein 45% vegetables, + fruit. I love fruit, fish, chicken a lot, my protein is lean. Is cheese, dairy, carbs ok? Trying to do a caloric deficit.

Please help find a WW1 French short film; Verdun

Please help find a short film from YouTube:

It is made by a French small studio/ YouTube channel with the SAME name of film’s title, title of the film is a date related to ww1 like 1914, 1915, 1916, 1917, or 1918, etc

Plot: It is from the pov of a French soldier who wakes up in a destroyed trench full of mud (most likely in the battle of Verdun). There are 3 other soldiers that eventually get found including one officer who dies near the end. Officer is probably referred to as captain, lieutenant, or officer. The film is shown from a soldier’s POV, and eventually 2 other soldiers are found. They find the officer last. They have some dialogue, laughing and also wondering how they’ll escape since it’s dangerous outside the trench. The officer is in a delirium, probably from shell shock, and keeps yelling at the others to go over the top and fight; the others restrain him and tell him to be quiet and not alert the enemy. The officer dies later, seemingly from exhaustion.

The film is gritty and muddy, and only takes place inside the trench. You only ever see the French soldiers. It has a blue-brown color scheme from the blue French uniforms and brown mud, sky is cloudy.

Film has French audio but on YouTube it has English subtitles too. Film is over 5 minutes but less than 20. Also released at least before 2025, or before when AI was even a thing. Film itself is actually VERY high quality, probably one of the best I’ve seen, very gritty and realistic, good dialog etc. and engaging despite not really having many action scenes. Film is also LIVE ACTION, not animated. There is an animated short film about French soldiers ww1 called “1916”, but it’s NOT it. Film might have a Facebook page/ the creators have one but idk.

Found 2 kittens under shed

Context- I don’t know like anything abt animal care or cats that much; I had goldfish when I was like 6 and that’s about it

So while cleaning up we found 1 kittens under a friend’s family’s shed, and then found another one. the shed bottom is damp wet dirty cobwebs etc. Neighborhood has a lot of cats (maybe strays) roaming around all night long.

so we find a cardboard box and put the both of them in it. both kittens look like a few weeks old? striped one is normalish, doesn’t move around too much but looks more like confused idk. Black one keeps prowling around everywhere and climbing, also a bit smaller than striped and it keeps shaking a bit. I’m looking at their eyes and they’re half open, looks a bit red inside, was initially not even sure they had eyes (Like someone plucked them). There’s a bit of yellowish liquid around it like pus I think, so we get some eyedrops over the counter and administer it to both cats, cuz I was pretty sure it might’ve been eye infection. Either that or they haven’t fully developed their eyes yet, which I thought happened sooner in development idk.

Unfortunately friend’s uncle (not rlly a animal guy) did put them (with the box) back under the shed, cuz he said their mother will probably look for them and we don’t have time to take care of them/ bring them places etc. I asked “why not a vet” but yea. Not sure if it’s financially feasible, or if they just accept them free like how regular human hospitals do. Wondering if I should convince them to get them next possible available time & what to do.

thanks

2000s famous Pop song

I went to a cafe today and heard it amongst their playlist of 2000s pop mall music, tried to Shazam it but it didn’t work fast enough.

kinda has chorus lyric of “I want you baby” or something that sounds like it; although I probably misheard it cuz I couldn’t make out the lyrics. Instrumental has some electronic/DJ elements to it? But not too much (like ellie Goulding music). Voice is not Rihanna or jennifer Lopez or lady Gaga. the melody almost reminds me of call me maybe but I can’t remember exactly. I remember hearing this song in a bunch of other places.

I SHOULD NOTE: “baby” is probably not the word in the lyric, i think it just kinda got misheard like that

Are these cavities?

Bottom & lower tooth

theres a single dark spot there between the teeth; though my teeth are tight and it’s hard to view the angle so I never noticed till know. It feels potentially hollow

its probably most likely a cavity but not sure; and not sure what to do if it is, so I’m a little scared. Like does a dentist just scrape out a big chunk From the area?

What do you think the future for fascism is?

I know this sounds like alternative/speculative history, which it is, but it’s more so in a academic tone, because this is a genuine question and theorizing of mine that I’ve been thinking about for a while

  • the “nationalism” here is NOT the “national liberation” that you associate with something like Vietnam or decolonialism

  • BACKGROUND

It seems like throughout the western world, with the abject failure of “liberals” plain for all to see (other than “liberals”), a specific international “fascist” movement is taking hold (meloni, AfD, azov, reform, maga, etc) that does not necessarily but usually has ties and admiration for classical movements (iron guard, rexist, nsdap, Italian pnf, Mosley, etc) whilst not, on the surface, explicitly tying itself to the neo fascist moments that have slightly older ties but modern iterations (atomwaffen, telegram, an appeal to heaven etc). To me, there has always been a reactionary segment of the population in the west (40-90s), some more “professional” or funded cells and orgs during the Cold War, and after the USSR’s collapse (after collapse year 0/ AC0) and into the internet age, you have these much more online neonazi cells and groups (part LARP and part domestic terror), which intensified specifically after 2016 (Trump). It seems like the maga style movements capitalized on a big portion of the population, which includes this more radical online group of neonazis, and in turn they influence each other. I still classify this “maga” style of movement as separate from the more overtly fascist style because, despite having strong ideological, influence, and member overlap, they still try to at least pander to a broader, non-explicit neonazi segment of the more mainstream population (like boomers etc). The “maga” style movements are almost like international ultranationalists, connected by how “anti woke” they are, how western they are, etc. Which is why the modern Japanese fascists can get along with European fascists, but hindutvas or ISIS style fascists may not be liked at all by European fascists; some focus on race or religion or nation more. And of these fascists, you will have certain splits and overlaps (ie. 19 yo American “appeal to heaven” chud incels from Ohio, or Christian fascist “mythical Europe”

  • FUTURE PATHS?

Assuming that in the question “socialism or barbarism” that barbarism takes ahold, what happens to these movements in the west? After all, half of their ideology is significantly vague and mythical, and only ever uses “science” to justify its pre conceived conclusions. And inevitably, if problems arise in their little state, maybe they’ll try to fix the problem, or alternatively they can also try to “blame” it on an “untermensch” element of the population. And if that happens, then eventually it will culminate in a culling of that group, and so on. Europeans naturally hate each other; if all the EU nations become fascist, there may be common joy over how they’re all fascist now, however, there will invariably be cracks and splits over how to reach the mythical European utopia. That, or they could be “woke” and accept “diversity of European fascists makes us all stronger! We’re all Aryan!” Lol. Schisms are inherent in any group, but it just seems that in fascism there is a predisposition to having these “splits” due to a “supremacist” aspect. While “international communism” is widely acknowledged as a goal, just that methods differ among the communists. These splits feel less well “known” or have less precedent because (my opinion) there hasn’t been a long enough run of any specific fascist state for a seed of potential schism to arise. And these schisms most likely could be from a feeling of supremacy of a certain group over another to “solve” the current issue. It seems this potential fascist “internationalism” will be undermined by its own foundational “supremacism”.

  • trial run

Say, the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Hungary all have their ultranationalist, initially international, crypto fascist (because they’re too cowardly to admit it) gain control. Maybe they’re initially all allies and have the same enemies, or maybe they have a “union of Western European fascists” even. But if you run this long enough and these fascists are all isolated by themselves, you’ll start experiencing some problems (be it economic, social, etc). And due to their nationalist natures, you’ll have segments of the population blame it on, example, Hungarian immigrants polluting the Italian countryside, Italy for Italians! And maybe certain Hungarians will think, the Hungarian nation is uniquely special, Italy is Aryan but slightly less than Hungary, Hungary must supercede the rest to lead the “hungarianubermensch” to utopia. And so on, until “militarism”, one of the final culminations of this “supremacism” aspect, emerges and inevitably clashes with another nation’s militarism (war).

This ^ is only 1 iteration or path (schisms), or at least how I could see it going in the long term. Although I’m not guaranteeing anything, I could be missing a lot. The 2nd path could even possibly be that the current “maga” groups become slowly entrenched in the “liberal” institutes and lose their edge, pushing the whole Overton Window right but alienating the more radical neonazi movement (which makes them even more radical or even less in comparison).

very talented artist but I laugh ngl

Not a Nazi just really likes drawing rommel and other ww2 Wehrmacht

fav historical figures include Reagan Eisenhower Truman the tsar

Instantly clocked them as a Reddit history nerd (imperial Germany lover) cuz no full Hitlerite can withstand the temptation of just slapping a bunch of dog whistles into their art; but no normal “just a history fan” only draws German ww2 generals. Turns out it’s a near “kaiserboo“ and Reddit history slop fan (sabaton, YouTube slop). Apparently is a Taiwanese Christian but can’t draw Chinese stuff because (paraphrase) “le beautiful democracy ROC was brought down by le commies and corruption”. Sorry but the CCP will inherit the Sun Yat Sen’s “3 principles of the people” mandate. Wonder why a liberal will draw the ww2 Wehrmacht but is too pussyfooted to draw the “commies”, maybe it’s cuz liberals are like lotto scratch tickets
