I haven't ran a game for longer than 5 sessions.

Hello. I am a fairly long-time GM with experience in TTRPGs like Daggerheart, 5E, Fabula ultima, and many others. I love GMing. I love playing with people and playing the systems. In the moment I really enjoy what I do.

But for some reason, nearly the last 7 or so games I have attempted to run have ended very prematurely. We will be 1 or 2 sessions in, and for some reason, I just lose the will to keep playing.

I've tried doing oneshots, but I just do not enjoy those nearly as much as a campaign.

I don't know if it's an issue with myself, not feeling into the playgroups, or if I get bored of the system, but it really sucks to keep having this happen. It's been making me question my worth as a GM and if it's even worth it to keep attempting to play.

Has anyone had similar issues? I'd love some advice from the community :)

Playing the monsters feels shallow?

Hello! I just ran my first oneshot, and I think it went pretty well! I enjoyed the characters' options and how much quicker things felt.

My main gripe was playing the monsters seemed generally shallow and not interesting. It felt like a majority of them were glorified hp sponges with one attack. I'm wondering if I am missing something or maybe I'm just spoiled with other games like daggerheart or fabula ultima where I had plenty of choices.

Thanks :)

[Online] [Other] High fantasy oneshot for beginners for nimble!

Hello! I am looking to run a oneshot this upcoming Sunday to try out the nimble system! No experience is required, just discord and a computer that can run foundry.

Nimble was originally a rules-hack for 5E to improve combat. But the creator decided to make it more expansive to the point where he just made his own system. Make no mistake. However, this is still your classic heroic fantasy goodness!

My goal is to run at 1pm PST and hopefully be finished in a few hours past then! If you are interested, please add me on discord: magiciansarcana

[Online][Other][PST] Looking to get 2-3 players for a weekly Blades in the Dark game!

Blades in the Dark is a tabletop role-playing game about a crew of daring scoundrels seeking their fortunes on the haunted streets of an industrial-fantasy city. There are heists, chases, occult mysteries, dangerous bargains, bloody skirmishes, and, above all, riches to be had — if you’re bold enough to seize them.

You and your fledgling crew must thrive amidst the threats of rival gangs, powerful noble families, vengeful ghosts, the Bluecoats of the city watch, and the siren song of your scoundrel’s own vices. Will you rise to power in the criminal underworld? What are you willing to do to get to the top?

Hello! I am looking to run a weekly game of blades I the dark over discord. I have never run it before but it looks very fun!

I want to run the game every Sunday at 1PM PST, starting this upcoming Sunday with a session 0.

Please feel free to apply if you are a veteran or a new player who has never heard of the system before.

If you are interested, send me a message over Discord! My username is magiciansarcana.

Socially anxious in social work

Hello! I am a 25 year old guy who has been in this field for 3 years. Up until recently, I worked as a community support worker. My role was to go into the nearby neighborhood and chat with people who are using in front of businesses or are putting themselves in harms way and take them back to our safe using site.

I felt inadequate a lot of the time while on the job. I find it hard to find the right words and often overthink what to say. My coworkers very easily made strong relationships with our clients, but I struggled quite a bit. It took me nearly half a year to really fit into the other working staff.

Our site closed, unfortunately. Now, I am working as a program assistant at a shelter/supportive housing program. I'm with new staff and I can tell I don't fit in well since I'm not good at small talk and chatting with them. I'm often left out of group discussions, and I feel my opinion is ignored due to them all being friends and I'm the odd one out.

I do want to say I have other good qualities. I've been told that I'm extremely calm under pressure, and I am great at getting to know someone and making them feel comfortable once I can get over my own nerves and get to know them.

I'm wondering if anyone has anyone has advice on how I can improve on this issue? Thank you!

Getting worse the longer I play?

I recently came back to CS2 about 2 weeks ago. When I came back I was playing amazing. (For my ELO 5000~) was consistently top fragging and getting KD ratios around 20/10.

I kept playing over the week and I was still doing okay. But I was normally around 3rd frag and was going even KD.

Now I'm getting consistently bottom frag while playing at 4000~ elo.

I can't help but feel like this is the case for every game I play like Valorant, League, and now CS2.

Is this a psychological thing? Is it a matchmaking thing where they put me against worse opponents when I'm returning to the game?

Hello!

I am looking for some advice. I have been playing at a LGS for the past year and have had very fun times. I have played magic before playing commander, but mostly on MTGA.

My partner and I play with the locals which is roughly a group of 3-4 other players. They all have about the same amount of experience with commander (~1 year) but most of them have not played magic outside of commander.

We all play at around bracket 2-3. Most of us play upgraded or modified preconstructed decks without any game changers.

Things for the first few months were great. Great games and great people. At the time I even made a close friend in someone I will call "M"

"M" and I saw the game similarly and had a great time playing together, however things started going bad when they began to complain about the power level of my decks and getting visibly and audibly upset at the table. They believed my decks were too powerful and that is was causing me to win too often. They were right that I was winning too often. I was winning nearly 75% of the time but I chalked it up to people not running any interaction of having poor threat assessment.

Things only got worse from there. One of the last times we played I was playing my [[Pantlaza]] deck against their [[Hakbal]] deck. They got super upset that I won by playing on the defense with a [[temple altisaur]] and then ended up one shotting them with a [[Akromas Will]]

We ended up breaking up our friendship despite talking to them consistently about what I could do to help ease their frustration with my gameplay. Including taking apart some decks I really enjoyed.

I now play with a different group but I have the same issues. We all on paper play at around the same bracket with upgraded precons, but I continue to have win rate that is too high. It has gotten to the point where it is unfun to play. It feels like whenever I am doing well, I am being judged and people are upset.

I have talked to my playgroup about these issues, however they told me they have issue with the strength of my decks. But regardless I can tell by their tone and body language, they are starting to dislike playing with me.

Last night I played a game with a unmodified silverquill influence deck and had the same issues. I won all 3 games and one of the other players outright banned me from playing the deck again. I really enjoy the deck so that hurt.

So I am unsure how to proceed. I don't enjoy playing weak decks, but I know I need to tone down what I have now in order for everyone else to have fun. But when I look at my decklists I am unsure of what modifications I should make. I will post two of my decklists below as examples and maybe one of you fine folks can help me out!

Master of Keys Decklist:

To provide some context of my decks vs my pods decks. They all play upgraded precons which are basically the upgrades you can find on something like EDHREC. They play [[Hakbal]] [[Terra]] [[Bello]] and [[Inspirit]]
