Seeking Jlab jobs/engineering info
So I know Jlab just laid off a ton of people. I’m confused as to why they would go about doing that and then turn around and post so many jobs? The jobs are all over different departments of the lab, new engineers to directors… IT to acquisitions..?
Also a bit confused as to why there are so many different posting for construction engineers, construction managers, engineering project managers etc. Most of them are staff engineer III with slightly different reqs and roles. Even the supervisory roles are still level III, so again I’m confused why anyone would be a supervisor in the same ‘pay grade’. Are there really multiple different groups? Or is it a fishing expedition? Again seems super odd they would lay off people for budget cuts but then need to hire such a staff like this for capital improvements/costly construction.
Probably obvious but I can’t make rhyme or reason and would really appreciate some clarity. Ty!!
