I know it's not the best way to run them but I've committed.
I wanted them to feel less elite than the voidscarred like maybe they still haven't quite shaken off fighting like guardians yet. So I gave them some more understated heads and I chopped down their capes.
Bonus at the end of all the stuff I did to the capes.
I added a unit of guardians to my list and wanted to bash them up a bit to look more like commandos.
I'm trying to make a xenos counterpart to my raptors squad that I have.
Decided to include guardian defenders in my corsair list, here's some of the bashes I've come up with. If you barrel swap the rifles with the pistols they end up looking like an smg or carbine.
My mind is reeling with all the options. It's gonna take me a while to get everyone built up.
I couldn't help but use the infinity lament's helmet for my Yriel it's just so cool looking. It's also funny that I literally just finished a playthrough of Colony Ship and my MC ended up looking almost exactly like this.

I'm broke so I like to stretch my models as far as I can. I didn't want to buy the farseer skyrunner 3 times so I decided to see if I couldn't make a skyweaver unit also work as a skyrunner conclave.
I figured with the clear base I could just mark 32mm and then I could switch between the 2 units easily.
I wanted to have wysiwyg blaster for 40k but also wanted to still have a guy that works as a fate dealer for kill team and came up with this.
Im new to the game, I want to make sure I at least have a decent list before I sink a lot of time and money into this army.
The idea is to have a bunch of "mosquitoes" that fly around and do shock damage/ steal objectives while Yriel and Kharseth push main objectives with starfang support and everything else creates dilemmas. Im running a group of 10 so the most guys get the benefit of voidstone (at least until they decide the skyreaver felarch has a mist shield like they literally do.)
Tanks that can sit on objectives or in shooting lanes, shroud runners that im gonna have circle the edge of the map and snipe leaders.
I intend on using the wraithblades as a rabid pitbull that I send straight into melee to bog down hoards or try to keep a hard hitting melee unit in place. Wraithguard to single out heavies. And some skyrunners who can (theoretically) bounce between objectives adding fire support or even to hang around the wraithguard for the boost when needed.
Kharseth is gonna be in the wave serpent with the voidreavers. I plan on using them to land on a contested objective and pop out to try to clear it out, a starfang will be nearby to give stealth and add to the firesupport.
Is there something about the mechanics of this game that im missing that could lead to this list not actually being very good? Is my choice of equipment bad?
I want 2 starfangs but i don't wanna spend the money. I know the kit comes with a least a few extra bits like pilots and another choice of hood. I want to know if its possible to use the spare weapons and hood to make a venom look more like the new kit.
The hood can help with length I just dont know if theres a width issue when it some to the Vyper vs the Venom fuselage. If the starfang is wider then my plans wont work, just looking at the models it seems like they're similar in width.
