How to spend my summer break ☀️

Summer break is here, and I don’t want to spend it doing nothing.
I’m a medical student I love learning not just medicine but anything that helps me grow I enjoy picking up new skills, exploring different subjects, reading books, and trying new experiences
It could be a useful skill, a course, a hobby, a book, or even an experience worth trying this summer.
I’d live to hear your ideas,xx

Beauty of pushto music

I think Pashto music is one of the most misunderstood genres. Most people assume it’s all about guns, cigarettes, alcohol, or lyrics that don’t make much sense, but that’s just a stereotype. If you actually listen to the older songs, you’ll find poetry about love, faith, conversations with Allah, the pain of growing old, the beauty of youth, and so much wisdom about life. Maybe I connect with it more because I’m a Pakhtun, but I honestly feel things in Pashto music that I don’t find anywhere else. The way singers like Sardar Ali Takkar bring Ghani Khan’s poetry to life is something truly special. Also I love music of khayal Mohammad ,Haroon bacha.I think Pashto music deserves far more appreciation than it gets.

Changing the topic a little

Zindagi gulzar hai is one of my favourite dramas, recently I noticed that a lot of people on insta were bashing Zaroon’s character that how he was misogynistic, conservative and a red flag
I do admit that Zaroon was hypocritical. He was very liberal when it came to relationships, but for marriage, he wanted a conservative girl like Kashaf. I completely agree that’s a double standard.
But I also think at times his thinking was shaped by the environment he grew up in. He saw his mother being very avoidant and rude towards his father. She was always busy in her own circle and hardly interacted with him. Similarly, his sister wasn’t willing to make compromises in her marriage and would come back home over very small issues, which she herself regretted later I don’t think Zaroon was inherently misogynistic or conservative. I think he struggled to accept the version of feminism he grew up seeing at home.

What is Love,really?

When I think about love,I first think about love for Creator ,which feels rooted in gratitude,Love for parents feel more innate,Friendship based love mostly comes from shared interests, but when it comes to love for opposite gender(romantic love)I fail to understand it like is love at first sight really a thing? Also when one falls in love and it is not reciprocated many people seem to move on or get attached to someone else even when it is reciprocated, the initial intensity often fades and other priorities began to matter more. This makes me question what love really is—whether it is a real, lasting emotional truth, or simply a game of neurotransmitters and chemistry of brain that we interpret as something deeper.

No Fall of Al-Andalus,No America?

Muslims ruled much of Spain for 800 years until the christian kingdoms reconquered and expelled Muslim rule. This victory strengthened them and so they were willing to give resources and sponsor Columbus journey which later led to Europeon discovery of America.
So somehow decline of Muslim leaders led to rise of Europe and America.

Is medicine lagging behind?

I have a thought… I think that there had been much development in the fields of technology AI etc, astronomy, robotics but when it comes to medicine it’s not that much advanced
For ex many diseases which are even common and exist for long time still don’t have any proper cure(like diabetes, hypertension, myopia, cancer)
Also etiology of majority of diseases is unknown and treatment is only symptomatic w lots of side effects at times
Is it because living organisms are extraordinarily complex or??

Namal Novel ⚖️

Namal was my first Urdu novel, and it introduced me to the world of Urdu literature. Even after reading some of Nimra Ahmed’s other popular works, none of them touched my heart the way Namal did.
I feel that even Nimra Ahmed herself could never recreate the masterpiece she wrote with this novel.
I finished it in just a few days
Faris Ghazi was my favorite character because, unlike the perfect green-flag heroes(salar sikandar), he was badboyish, flawed and realistic, and I loved his sarcasm, humor, wit, and nonchalant style yet so mature snd dignified. The character i could relate the most to was Haneen, admiring her intelligence and her emotional journey of healing after falling for someone she initially disliked. One of my favorite moments was when Saadi returns home and his emotional reunion with his mother, and I adored all the cute enemies-to-lovers moments between Faris and Zumar.
Namal will always hold a special place in my heart.

WHAT WERE YOUR FAV SCENES OR CHARACTERS ?

فیض احمد فیض(Revolution disguised as love)

I have always noticed a thing about Faiz Ahmed faiz poetry ,in his poetry the surface often speaks of romantic love but when you dive deeper what appears to be love for beloved is,infact,an expression of longing for his homeland
Like in this shair (which he wrote during his imprisonment)people often read it as an address to beloved but actually he was missing his homeland the one he had dreamed of.A Pakistan that existed in his imagination rather than the harsh reality.
You get the same vibe in ‘Mujhse pehli si mohabbat’ where love for beloved is actually layered w deeper meaning.
