Meanwhile Gala improves, we’re stuck fixing everything

So Yağız wrote today that Jhon Durán’s agent is in Istanbul. The reason is talks with Galatasaray, as many already know.

If this transfer happens, their striker lineup will be above the level of our league. As much as we all hate Durán at this point, having Osimhen AND Durán as your strikers is crazy. Durán is a very good player IF he wants to play. And the fact that he’s been trying to join Gala since he left us shows that he actually wants to play.

On the other hand, while our rivals are improving their already strong squad, we are struggling financially. We already got fined for overspending and reportedly received a €10 million fine from UEFA (according to Yağız).

Our only striker is Cherif, and if you want your attackers to compete against Osimhen and Durán, you’ll need not one, but two great strikers. And with the current financial situation, it looks like we’ll have problems in the transfer market.

Not only do we need at least two strikers, but we also need a defender, a right-back, and at least two new wingers.

I don’t know about you guys, but right now our rivals are in a much better position than us. They already have a great team and can improve it further with only 2–3 transfers, while it looks like we need at least 6–7 new players. Not only players, we still need a coach, a new president, a new board and so much.

Do you guys prefer economy or economy light? And when you book for several people at once, can you mix ticket types (economy, economy light and so on?)

I’m flying from Denmark to New York with Icelandair soon. We’re 4 people traveling together, a dad and 3 brothers and we booked Economy Light with only carry-on baggage (10 kg each).

Since we’re only traveling for 8 days, carry-on is honestly more than enough for us. We’ve done similar trips to other countries before with one carry-on per person, and it has never really been a problem. Realistically, we could probably fit most of our clothes into just 2 of the carry-ons, which would leave us with 2 almost empty bags for anything we might bring back home.

With 4 carry-ons we have 40 kg total, which is more than enough.

What I was wondering about is the booking system. When I booked the tickets, it looked like I could only add checked baggage for all 4 passengers at the same time — not for just one person. I might have missed something, but is that actually how Icelandair works?

Also, is it possible to mix ticket types in the same booking? For example, 1 person with Economy Standard and the other 3 with Economy Light?

Of course, we could have booked separately (1 person first and then the other 3), but since we don’t really need a checked bag anyway, it was mostly just if we could get one at a reasonable price.

Right now it looks like adding one checked bag roundtrip would cost around $180 total, and I’m not paying that of course.

Visiting New York for a second time but this time with my family which is a first for them. Can they go with me through the MPC line since we are traveling together?

Hi everyone, I hope it’s okay that I ask this question here.

I’m going to NYC for a second time with an ESTA traveling from Denmark. Since I got my passport renewed because my previous passport expired I now got a new (approved) ESTA.

As far as I understand I now have access to use the MPC app when I arrive in New York for a second time.

This time my dad and my two brothers will be joining me on this trip. It’s their first time traveling to US with an ESTA and I was wondering if they can follow through the MPC line with me, since we travel together. Or will we have to separate so they go through the regular one?

If we have to separate I’ll probably also end up going with them since I will still have to wait for them if I went with the MPC app.

I tried looking this up but couldn’t really find an answer

I reported this guy yesterday for trolling in our subreddit (even calling us “am*na kodumun ezikleri”), and the mods still haven’t banned him. He’s even still commenting today. As I’ve said before, we need more mods in this subreddit.

It wouldn’t have changed much, but this is just another example of how bad VAR is in Turkey. Osimhen was offside in this position, went for the header, and had a duel with the defender behind him who was trying to clear the ball — yet VAR didn’t intervene.

1.5 hour layover in KEF from Copenhagen to New York. Is that enough time for the passport control and then to my New York gate?

Im going from Copenhagen, Denmark to New York, USA with a 1.5 hour layover in KEF and I was wondering if it’s enough time?

Since I’m gonna leave a Schengen country it’s means that I will go trough passport control as I understand but I’ve heard there are long lines for passport control, so now I’m a bit unsure if the 1.5 hour is enough to land in KEF, leave the plane, get through passport control and then to my gate

Those of you who have stayed at Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Manhattan/Financial District, is it a safe area at night and how is the hotel?

We’re 4 men traveling to NYC (dad and 3 brothers at the ages of 29, 24 and 15) and we’ve booked the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Manhattan/Financial District with free cancellation.

I’ve previously stayed at Truss Hotel in midtown and overall liked the area because there was always a lot of people around at night. There were quite a few homeless people though, which honestly is not a problem in itself, but sometimes people were clearly very high or lying unconscious on the street.

I know Financial District is supposed to be much quieter at night, but does it become too quiet or feel sketchy late in the evening?

It’s not really an issue for the older ones, but I’d prefer that our 15 year old doesn’t feel uncomfortable walking back to the hotel around 11 PM after sightseeing etc.

Would love to hear experiences from people who know the area, and also from anyone who has stayed at the hotel itself.

I’m not expecting 5 star service since we’ll mostly just be there to sleep and maybe take a short break before heading out again, but I’d still love to hear how people felt about the hotel overall.

I’m going to the USA, specifically New York City, in a few months, traveling from Europe. My mom really likes those kinds of earrings, but we can’t order them from Ella18 because they ship from outside Europe. That would cost us around $25 in handling fees, plus additional taxes and other charges.

She usually buys those kinds of earrings when we are in Turkey, but she asked me if I could take a look in NYC to see if I can find something similar. They usually cost 5-15 dollars.

I found a shop called Earrings Plaza, which I plan to check out, but it looks like they mostly focus on Indian or African-style earrings.

I would really appreciate it if you could tell me where to find those kinds of earrings (if they even exist in NYC).
