LeBron James could make more than his salary betting on the outcome of his free agency on prediction markets

Where LeBron goes in free agency has a massive betting market - over $50M in volume on Kalshi alone. Where LeBron goes is not a game and there’s no expectation of a fair or neutral outcome. There is nothing stopping LeBron or his associates from knowing where he’s going to sign and placing bets.

I hope the SFO shitshow results in more OAK routes

I fly out of OAK whenever there is a direct, but available routes have been getting worse and worse. It doesn‘t seem like there’s going to be an end to the SFO ground stop issue, even when the runway construction is finished. I hope that results in some more availability at OAK. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Gate Checking Group 5 Carry Ons?

Our gate agent just announced that she hopes to start boarding our delayed flight in 15 minutes. A bunch of people lined up. We all know half of them are in Group 5 hoping to get some overhead bin space. We all know that whether there is overhead bin space or not on this full flight, they’re all getting their roller bags checked. So when the tenth call for volunteers to check roller bags is done, why not just have Group 5 line up to check their roller bags? They’re all standing there anyway. On another note, I took advantage of checking my roller bag at check in and absolutely love that they offer that now.

Slate, if you're listening, schedule an AMA here for the days following June 24th

This subreddit is full of reservation holders. There have been a litany of questions here that will answered on June 24th, but there will inevitably be questions that aren't answered, or need further clarification.

If you coordinate an AMA with the mods now, people can start asking questions and voting on them. You can probably answer the most voted ones during your event. The individual questions that get posted here now are lost into the abyss as time goes on. Mods don't have anywhere to organize questions now where people can ever expect to get an answer.

Further, information from your event will inevitably need to be repeated, clarified, or just responded to with a "We don't know yet, but we expect we'll know by ____."

This is a big ticket item that people want information about before purchasing. It's understandable that information just isn't publicly available yet. But you will drastically increase your conversion rate from reservations to orders if people can get answers but also just feel like they'll have a way of getting it when it's available. Just announcing an AMA scheduled for the week following the 24th and opening that two-way communication channel is low-cost and would go a long way toward building brand trust.
