Pulled the trigger on the new editions, hyped to start the series

Hi!

I have had this series in my backlog for some time, and after I finish Liveship Traders and Tawny Man, the next series on my pile of books is The Bound and the Broken. I’m a bit of a physical editions hoarder. I read only digital but like to have the series I love (or think really hard I will love) on physical editions.

Everything I’ve read about this series has hyped me so much that I bought the new editions of the first book and novella and preordered the second, just cause the fact that they are limited got me a bit of fomo (also those covers are goated)

From the series people say it takes its inspirations from, I’ve never read Eragon nor The FaithFull and the Fallen. I’ve read Wheel of Time until book 5 and liked it (books 2 and 4 were great) and will finish it in the future.

So, as fans of the series, what can I expect from it?

I’ve read people say the quality of the writing is not good in book 1 and improves later. I don’t expect at all Robin Hobb level of writing, for example my favorite series of all time is Dresden Files and it’s quick and modern, but want to know if this is an accepted fact or just divisive opinions

How is the character work? Again, not expecting Hobbs level cause she is the goat but I do love interesting characters with arcs that make them mature and change

How are Ryan Cahill plotting skills? Weaving different plot threads, foreshadowing, plot twists…

Thanks in avance, I’m really hyped after my purchase. I’m convinced that I will have a great time but also want to read different opinions to ground me a bit or hype me even more.

iPhone 16/16e/17/17e doubts

Hi

I have an iPhone 13, but I was clumsy some time ago and dropped it without case (learnt the lesson). It’s been surviving for the last 2 years with a case that I never take off (if I take the case off, the screen comes off xD)

I think it’s time for an upgrade. I’m not a phone enthusiast. I don’t mind the 120hz screen (I have a friend that has it, I can feel the difference but I don’t care about it so much that I would pay extra for it) and also i don’t take photos, just when I go on holidays and not a lot of them, as my girlfriend is the official photographer on trips.

I just want a newer iPhone, that performs smoothly (my iPhone 13 is starting to become a bit slow), has good battery and will last years

What do I use my phone to? Listen to music, audiobooks and YouTube videos. Apps like goodreads, Strava, Banking app, WhatsApp, Twitter, Reddit, Searching things in Safari. Just your average casual use.

I would buy new. I would prefer to spend less than 600€ but if the expensive options are what you recommend and it’s justified I don’t mind to spend a bit more m

What is the best quality/price option for me?

Thanks in advance!

Yerbas con menos cafeína

Hola

Saludos

Hi,

Im going with my girlfriend and another couple to London. They really want to go to one of this panoramic view restaurants that seem popular nowadays.

I know for sure this kind of places overcharge because of the views, which is fair, but i would like to eat good food and not get the "good views shit food" treatment.

I have been looking at different options and we have some of them that seem nice:

  • Sushi Samba
  • Oxo Tower Brasserie
  • Sky garden Brasserie

Do these places serve good food apart from good views? If you have more recommendations feel free to share

Thanks!
