A Genie Lets You See One Statistic About Every Person. Which Statistic Do You Pick?

A genie gives you a choice.

From now on, you can see a number floating above every person’s head. The number represents a single statistic about their life, and it is always accurate and updates in real time.

You get to choose what statistic it shows.

It must be something that can be expressed as a number, such as net worth, IQ, body count, days remaining to live, percentage of life completed, number of lies told, or anything else you can think of.

Once you choose the statistic, it can never be changed.

No one else can see it, and they do not know it’s there.

What statistic do you choose?

Would you swap bodies with someone once every other month for the rest of your life for $1 billion?

You are offered $1 billion tax free, paid immediately.

If you accept, then once every other month, at a completely random time, your consciousness is transferred into the body of a randomly selected living person somewhere on Earth for 24 hours.

The person can be anyone over 16, any country, occupation, language, health condition, or situation. You gain their physical capabilities (if they are a bodybuilder, you are strong), but not their memories, skills, language abilities. You must figure out where you are and survive using only your own mind.

You are fully subject to the body’s limitations. If the person is injured, ill, elderly, disabled, intoxicated, unconscious, or suffering from a medical condition, you experience those limitations as if they were your own.

Your real body remains completely safe and untouched while the possession occurs. However, if the body you are occupying dies for any reason during the 24 hours, you die permanently.

After 24 hours, if you survive, you return to your own body. The process repeats once every month for the rest of your life and cannot be stopped.

Would you watch paint dry for $500k a year?

You are offered a job paying $500,000 per year with full benefits.

The workday is 8 hours long, 5 days per week, with normal vacation time and holidays. You do not get a lunch break.

Your entire job is to sit alone in a completely white room and stare at a blank white wall.

The room contains no windows, clocks, decorations, sounds, entertainment, or distractions.

You cannot bring anything to entertain yourself. No audio devices either.

You may think about anything you want, but your eyes must remain on the wall.

If your gaze leaves the wall for more than 10 consecutive seconds, you lose $100 for every additional second.

Once you take the job, you can’t quit until you decide to retire.

Do you take the job?

The World’s Greatest Detective

You are offered $1 billion tax free if you can evade the world’s greatest detective for 5 days.

If the detective finds you, you die instantly. You get 48 hours to prepare and choose where to go before the hunt begins.

The detective knows everything about you: your identity, appearance, personality, habits, history, strengths, and weaknesses.

They have access to legal surveillance methods, expert investigators, public records, security footage, and law enforcement databases, but they cannot break any major laws (like murder or kidnapping your family or something drastic like that)

You may move, travel, spend money, and seek help from anyone you want. If the detective can physically find and touch you within 5 days, you lose.

Do you take the deal, and what is your plan?
