How does one get to bell without a car next week?

Next week trackwork means bus replace trains between Lithgow and Mt Vic, but the only bus listed is the 32BM which skips Bell

How do I get to bell?

I understand not many people would use it, but I feel it would be beneficial for people to be able to either request the bus to stop there or if boarding from bell to flag down the bus…

I don’t have a license and I’m visiting someone up there and my only option is a rather pricey uber…

Proposal for a weekend 24 hour transport

So this would happen on Friday night and Saturday night

Trains:

30 minute frequencies late night and early morning between Chatswood and Bankstown

T4 line between Wolli Creek and Bondi (all stops) at 30 minute frequencies and Hurstville at 60 minute frequencies

T2 trains run 30 minute frequencies between Lidcombe and City Circle (all stops)

T9 Trains running 30 minute frequencies between Wynyard and Epping (All stops between Epping and Burwood then express Central then Wynyard)

T8 trains running 30 Minute frequencies between Central and Turella with every second service going to Revesby or East Hills

Nightride:

N91 is changed to run between Chatswood and Epping

N92/N90 is changed to run from Chatswood

N80 is changed to run from Epping

N81 is changed to run from Rhodes

N60/N61/N70/N71 is changed to run from Strathfield

N20 is changed to run between Revesby and MacArthur

N10/N11 run from Hurstville

N30/N40 are removed

N50 is changed to run from Lidcombe to Liverpool via Regents Park

N60 is changed to run from Lidcombe to Fairfield via Guildford

The buses could either terminate and return at the train stations or they could be made to run express to the city for easier connectivity

Purely hypothetical scenario
Just wanted input on how this could be changed
Would be running between Friday night Saturday early morning and Saturday night to Sunday early morning

For the transport nerds, which services will use the terminal platforms at Waitemata

I’m looking at the new CRL timetables and realised something. 2/3 lines pass through Waitemata station the South City (SC) line and the East West (EW) Line.

The SC line has roughly every third service terminating/starting at Waitemata, but they can’t use the terminal platforms because they are coming from the west while the only way to access them is to come from the east.

The EW line has some very limited services, from what I could count, only 2 services that ended at Waitemata and only 3 weekday and 2 weekend services that start from there.

Why not have the SC lines terminating go via Newmarket then Parnell to be able to terminate at Waitemata and use the dead end platforms

This makes it seems like the dead end platforms are going to be heavily underutilised…

Is there any way to see which trains are going to run empty to Bankstown?

Is there any way to figure out if a train will be running from Sydenham to Bankstown empty? As part of trial running.

Also what’s the best time to spot some test trains at the closed SW metro stations

What are these services?

I can only imagine testing, but what could they be testing? Also, why are some of the carriages completely full according to this, I’m assuming the weight sensors can’t be that broken already

Utter chaos at Hurstville station

So for some reason, the bus marshellers are saying that the 41T4 replacement bus is “all stops to Waterfall”???

The bus is not an all stops to waterfall, it runs express to Sutherland then all stops to waterfall.

They also said “all stops to Cronulla” which I can kind of understand, but the bus was running express to Sutherland as well then stopping all stops cronulla

Edit: This has caused actual issues. Group of tourists are now on the express to Sutherland bus because they were told this was an all stops service…

Why are most metro bathrooms gendered despite being only for 1 person

I believe this is common in most if not all other metro stations, but in crows nest, the bathrooms each only fit 1 person each and they are all identical. The bathrooms marked as male don’t have urinals and have changing tables as well. So why not just label them all as unisex?

Why do Hong Kong bus companies employ their own towing crews while in other countries it’s outsourced

Basically what title says. I’ve travelled a lot and moved from Hong Kong to Sydney and I noticed in most places, if a bus breaks down, typically a third party towing company is called in but in Hong Kong, at least with CityBus (And by extension first bus) as well as KMB have their own tow trucks

When did the manly ferries get security?

When did the F1 manly service get security officers patrolling the boat. Not opal inspectors, not police officers but a 3rd party security firm. They mainly told people to keep feets of seats, no smoking and no jumping in the front of the ship

When was this introduced?

Does nobody listen to announcement or read departure boards anymore??

Just got off a ferry, they switched the sides roughly 10 mins before departure. Taronga Zoo went from Side B to Side A and Watson Bay was from Side A to Side B. There were numerous announcements made about this but yet half the ship were now stuck in Watson bay because they didn’t listen or read the departure boards before getting on

There was ample warning, the departure boards were changed to reflect this pretty quickly, 6 or so announcements were made, the staff kept saying when you got on that this was a rose bay Watson bay service

Why split replacement buses on the north shore?

Why are the replacement buses for north shore line trackwork often split into Hornsby to Chatswood and Chatswood to Milsons point

Why not just combine them?
