The Breeders Gig Poster. August 18, 2026. Portland Pioneer Courthouse Square.

Hello fellow Breeders fans.

My name is Michael Laurence, I'm the founder and creative director of Thematic Studio in Portland, Oregon. I recently designed and produced a self-commissioned concert poster for The Breeders show at Portland's Pioneer Courthouse Square.

Check it out: https://www.thematic.studio/shop/breeders-poster

The design draws inspiration from the mad genius of Kim Deal and Vaughan Oliver (RIP). Kim is just the coolest ever, and Vaughan’s influence on graphic design (and me) can’t be overstated. This design honors his iconic cover design for “Last Splash” and reflects wider influences such as: Joseph Cornell, Jean-Michel Basquiat, David Lynch, Henry Vandyke Carter (Gray’s Anatomy c. 1858), Nychos, Danny Quirk, Rex Ray, and others.

Taking the heart motif to surreal heights, this poster features a richly layered composition that references themes of: anatomy, humanity, history, intimacy, detachment, mundanity, and the absurd. The intended effect is an uncanny, visceral sense of “corporal surrealism.”

This unofficial Breeders gig poster is offered in a strictly-limited artist edition of 100. When they’re gone, they're gone for good. Each is printed on premium 100# smooth uncoated cover stock, with archival inks. Prints measure 13×19 inches, and are hand-signed and numbered on verso. Packaged and shipped quickly and securely. Thematic’s Breeders posters are available for a suggested donation of $50.00 USD each, plus shipping. Posters are unframed.

Gig Poster for the All The Feelings Tour show in Bend, Oregon on June 24, 2026

Hello Metric, Broken Social Scene, and Stars fans.

My name is Michael Laurence, I'm the founder and creative director of Thematic Studio in Portland, Oregon. I recently designed a commemorative gig poster for the All The Feelings Tour show in Bend, Oregon on June 24, 2026.

Check it out: https://www.thematic.studio/shop/metric-broken-social-scene-stars-poster

The design is highly evocative of each band and their work, and is inspired by wider art and design influences, such as: Robert Rauschenberg, Joseph Cornell, Mike & Doug Starn, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Barry McGee, Darren Waterston, Rex Ray, Vaughan Oliver, Peter Saville, David Carson, Imaginary Forces, and others.

Taking visual cues from the groups’ inherent “super-connected” nature, the design features an intricate, layered, hand-crafted, abstract composition referencing themes of: interconnection, gravity, intention, sacred geometry, and a certain beauty-in-the-chaos that defies categorization – much like the artists themselves. The intended effect is a sense of "calculated randomness."

This gig poster is offered in a strictly-limited artist edition of 100 (when they're gone, they're gone). Printed on premium 100# smooth uncoated cover stock with archival inks, prints measure 13×19 inches (classic Fillmore poster size) and are hand-signed and numbered on verso. Packaged and shipped quickly and securely. Posters are $50.00 USD each, plus shipping (sold unframed).

Over the years, I've also designed concert posters for the legendary promoter Bill Graham Presents in San Francisco, for artists including: Radiohead, Stereolab, Portishead, Yo La Tengo, Elliott Smith, and Badly Drawn Boy – to name a few – as well as another Stars poster back in 2006 for their show at the SF Fillmore. See some examples here:

Thematic poster editions will be officially released the day following each show, with pre-orders available a week prior to the show.
