These are my last few charity hauls, and my bookshelves. I started reading and collecting in march this year - I think I’ve done alright!

So I went to a charity book fair today, and managed to score a couple of books. $40aud for the lot! I’m a huge fan of Wilbur Smiths Courtney series - and as you can see I have started to collect his works again (starting with his Egypt series, which I haven’t read) I’ve added them to my bookshelves and reorganised them a tad.

I unfortunately could not find any of your recommendations from my last post the other day but hopefully these couple will do well enough. I have heard very good things regarding both Consider Phlebas and pushing ice.

I’m currently slowly making my way through Red Mars (page 49) not really far enough to make a decision on it yet but did not expect the story to go the way that it already has.

Any thoughts on the books in slide one?

Hey everyone! Got back into reading in… march? Started with maybe five novels left over from my teenage years (I’m now 40). Recently got a couple of good book hauls and had to redo my shelf.

This is my shelf now - slowly encroaching on our dvd collection.

I’ve not read most of these, just DCC, Empire of the Vampire (currently on Dawn)and a bunch of things - HWFWM amongst them - on audible. I’m also reading the House in the Cerulean sea. Unfortunately I don’t have a lot of time on my hands with a 3yo berserking crotch goblin (that I love to death) running around but I do my best.

Some I read eons ago- like the Deverry cycle and Gotrek/Felix and Wilbur smith.

My Wishlist is around 80 books long right now, but what would you all recommend? How am I doing?

Went to “Sydney’s biggest book fair” at St Ives on a whim and holy moly! $3 a book (a tad more for the complete mark Lawrence set) the lot was $60aud

Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Edit: yes I know I stuffed the title.

Looking to build out my list - pic 1 is my purchasing list and pic2 is what I currently own.

Note: I disliked the first law, bloodsworn saga and the stormlight archive. I have mistborn and codex Alera on kobo and I enjoyed those.
