My first loaf and she came out so great!

Hi all! This is my very first attempt at baking sourdough bread. I used the Perfect Loaf’s “Simple Sourdough” recipe.

It came out so much better than I was expecting. This was a 3 day process. Levain for day 1, Day 2 was the autolyse, bulk fermentation, stretch and folds, and shaping day. And of course Day 3 is bake day.

Ingredients were just white flour, water, fine sea salt, and levain made from ripe starter.

Highly recommend this recipe, it was so clear and the video showed everything step-by-step. Also it makes two loaves as most recipes do 🫶🏻 happy baking 🥖

I took my puppy for granted

I have a Maltipoo, they’re very high energy and social creatures (at least mine is). I use to always tell my partner and family and friends, “man I can’t wait for her to chill out a bit.”

Well.. (TLDR cause the story can get long). This last Sunday we had to go to Urgent Care. She ingested THC and the only reason I found out was because we tested for it at the urgent care. She was disorientated, ataxia, wobbly, nauseous, etc etc- I was so scared. We’ve done all the right things and she is improving day by day. We are on day 2. I have a work trip (luckily it’s only a 1.5 hour drive away). My roomate tells me she’s refusing to eat, seems to be doing better but still lethargic. I get it it’s only been 48 hours, it’ll take time to get the toxin out of her system.

I came home today to take her to the vet because she had diarrhea and vomited, immediately when she saw me she had more energy and ate a bit. But she still wasn’t the same. I know it’s the drugs, but it really made me realized how crazy she was chill right now.. but I wasn’t happy about it. Again, you’re gonna say “well of course not she is not feeling well”.. but still. I missed her rambunctious energy, I miss her clinginess, I miss her zoomies.. I miss all of it- and one day she’s going to slow down.. but I want to appreciate every second I have with her.

To those who are raising a puppy right now and feeling like “god when will this be over”.. it will be and you might find yourself missing some of it because you were too busy focusing on the future instead of appreciating the present

No mold right?

The darken spot on the right was making me double take.

I left my started in the fridge because I was out of town. I prepped it by doing 10g starter 100g white flour and 80g water. Let it get to room temp then sealed it in the fridge for a few days. I left it on the counter for 2 hours and I’m about to feed my usual ratio.

Conch piercing has been infected since I changed to this jewelry

It’s been a long time I don’t know even know exactly how long like 2-3 years. It’s been on and off infected (mostly infected) I haven’t tried changing the jewelry because I get scared it’ll hurt. Any advice?

Day 2 Starter, is this normal?

Hello! I’m following the “Perfect Loaf” by Maurizio Leo instructions for starting and feeding a starter.

So Day 1 entails of 100g rye flour + 125g water.

I also keep it in a warmer box (set at 80 degrees Fahrenheit)

Day 2 is 75g carry over + 50g rye + 50g white flour + 115g water

And I fed it for day two approx 9 hours ago and she has risen a LOT. Is this ok? I’ve started starters before (and for numerous reasons haven’t gotten to the actual baking yet 😐) and it usually take much longer

How are you organizing your pots and pans in smaller house or with limited cabinets?

I will say.. I am not the best at organizing and I know the photo ISNT the worst but it’s difficult to grab an item further down from the stack sometimes.

No elements will load onto the design

Hello everyone! I am essentially unable to use Canva unless the only thing I need to do is add text or shapes for some reason are the only thing that works.

Any other elements or my own files I can drag and drop or click on but they don’t show up on the design. It’ll say I recently used it though.

I tried clearing all cache, using Incognito, logging in logging out, waiting hours to try again, I’m stumped.

EDIT: using a different web browser from Chrome works

Still biting at nearly 1 years old

11.5 months old maltipoo.

Can anybody relate? I assume I’m doing something wrong but I don’t know exactly what the issue is. She bites when she’s excited mostly which makes sense.. but sometimes she’ll lick then suddenly bites 😭

Puppy runs to the same spot to grab a sock 😭

This is somewhat specific so my dog is a maltipoo and she is 11 months today! I’ve been carrying her back indoors after being outside because theres been a few times when I let her run in, she runs straight into my roommates area and somehow finds something to grab and run (mostly a sock)

Like that’s the first thing she does. Obviously I can block off the area, but I feel like this has been an issue everywhere she always try to find something to take and mess with 😭

Does anyone have any advice?

the reactivity is driving me nuts

10 months old. Maltipoo.

She’s sweet but when I’m busy and I can’t do the LAT exercises it’s so overstimulating and mentally draining 😭

I just don’t understand how she can be normal with we watch TV and something sudden triggers her even though it’s been on the screen for hours I don’t get it.

anyone’s 9-10 month old puppy still bites?

I have a Maltese toy poodle mix, she gets excited and bites. I don’t know if I’ve seen improvement but she is also in that teenage phase.

In high arousal her bites do have some force to them, wanted to ask for any tips or advice.

Is this a growing up thing or do I need to train more?

Hi! TLDR my puppy is 9 months old maltipoo and she hasn’t had an accident in a month maybe. I don’t consider her full potty trained yet since I want it to be longer duration and clear cue or some sort of a signal to potty.

There hasn’t been much of that yet.

I know we’re heading in a positive direction but just now without warning we played and then my puppy went to the edge of the couch and peed, then ran away when I said her uppies cue to take her outside (I took her out and she peed twice).

Any opinions on this? Do I need specific training to teach her to cue or would she just get it as time goes on? She hasn’t had a poop accident since October and whines a lot or sniffs around if she needs to go.

Love my teenager but she is annoying sometimes

- messing with random stuff
- digging rug corners
- if somebody leaves an opening to a room, immediately runs in and grabs a sock or something and runs away
- been licking the vacuum for some reason 🥹
- barking and reacting to everything.. even if an items been there and she was fine then 2 hours later decided she forgot it was there and it spooked her
- will eat anything
- can’t sit still
- whines and howls for attention
- STILL BITES

She is a 9 month old Maltipoo 🙂 we have training and environmental management in place ish but this is tiring

Barking & Reactivity tips?

Hello! I have a 9 month old female Maltipoo (approx 8-10 lbs).

I know I’m in the thick of it with adolescence and I’ve been working on techniques with a trainer to deal with her reactivity.

I just want tips from others on what has helped their pups. I want to hear from those who has a maltipoo that was/is reactive or barks a lot (I know the Maltese side carries that alertness).

For reactivity, we’re using LAT, engage/disengage.
We also utilize scatter, find it, touch, and this way as commands if I need to distract her from the trigger.

Thank you for any help I can get from this post!
