The parcel failed to be delivered

First, let me preface - we have 3 generations living in our home so someone is home and able to receive a package 99.9% of the time. Yesterday in particular I was working in my office (20 feet from the front door, I have a clear view of our driveway etc from that location because I was waiting an important delivery.

I have a doorbell cam and a driveway cam that notify me whenever anyone is headed up to the door so that I have time to get there and sign for packages. We even had one package delivered via UPS, which I was alerted for and got to the door in time to receive. 1 vehicle pulled into our driveway and one car left to pickup lunch. Nice quiet day.

I was excited because an item I ordered was shown out for delivery and I see “need it for a project I’m working on. It’s a bit heavy at 85 lbs, and it’s a hot day so I wanted to get there quickly so no one is standing in the heat.

About noon I checked the status on the merchants website and saw “The Parcel Failed to be delivered” from about 30 minutes prior. WTF? I pulled up the tracking number and checked the fedex site for detailed tracking and I see “Delivery exception, Customer not available or business closed” just before noon local time. “Oh no! How did I miss that?” So I checked the driveway and doorbell cams - absolutely nothing.

No one attempted delivery, there weren’t even any fedex trucks that drove past our house - we live in a quiet neighborhood with minimum street traffic so we only had 20-30 cars go past and it was mainly neighbors heading out or coming back.

I don’t mind delays for valid reasons or if I was in the bathroom or any valid reasons, up to and including “it was too damn hot and this is a heavy box”. Come up to the door and I’ll come get it, I don’t want anyone to hurt themselves, I have a dolly and you can even leave it by the garage door and ring the bell, I’ll take it from there if I need to.

Lying is a whole different ballgame though. Not even making an effort to make it believable is just insulting. Even worse, there doesn’t appear to be any actual official way to report something like this.

This is mainly venting because clearly they just don’t care and if I try to push the issue I’m concerned about retaliation by the delivery drivers. If they don’t have the integrity to do what they are paid to do, what keeps them from “accidentally” dropping or causing damage on future occasions? We are in a relatively quiet area and I’m sure it would not be hard to figure out who complained about you. I’m sure the reason they provided is a catch-all that keeps their stats up. Hopefully today’s delivery person (it says it’s out for delivery so fingers crossed I’ll actually get it today).

Bambu Studio Laggy and Crashes ALL the time

Ever since the last one or two Bambu Studio updates in the last month Bambu Studio keeps hogging up all the memory, is slow or unresponsive to clicks or key presses and when 8 try to actually slice something a large portion of the time it freezes and eventually crashes with the basic “your shit crashed, do you want to send this info to Apple” message. I use a windows machine as well and it’s been happening on both machines although I think it’s more prevalent on my M1 iMac running the current macOS. If I open any more apps they just seem to slow down to a crawl.

It’s acting like a memory leak as the more I do in Bambu Studio the worse it performs. I’ve also noticed ABS prints fail to start, it looks like part of the poop is just getting bent sideways as the print prepares itself and does the little nozzle taps in the center of the plate. (I only mention that as I’ve had zero issues with ABS in the past and I don’t use ABS enough to know if there is something in the gcode that might have ducked with the retraction or whatever. It’s probably unrelated but it’s 100% consistent so far in that it fails. I have used multiple plates, dried the filament and all the basics you would normally do for a failure, but it never gets to the point where it actually attempts to print. Any idea’s are welcome.

The only changes to these machines was hitting download and installing Bambu Studio from the prompts that come up when I first start Bambu Studio. If there is a good way to regress a couple of versions I will (once I find the prior versions) but I keep thinking “surely they are going to fix this, no way they can let this..”.

Anyhow - is anyone else experiencing problems and what have you done to resolve it?

On my Mk4S, I noticed that there isn’t a selection for input shaping for it in my slicer, and the one for MK4 .4 Input Shaping throws a warning up if I try to use that option.

Is input shaping just an inherent part of the MK4S, or do I have something misconfigured? I reran the wizard thinking I’d missed something but no luck.
