Please talk me off the illogical worry ledge

You know how some days you just get in your own head and then start mini spiralling? That's me today. Talk me off the ledge fam.

I'm 7.5 months in. I've lost 20% of my starting weight and only just went up to 5mg two weeks ago. But I feel like my weight loss is stalling. There are logical reasons for this of course. I weigh less now, the possible calorie deficit without under eating is smaller (I'm short), this week I'm pre-menstrural so mounjaro feels like its not even working (found this to be the case previous months too).

But part of me is looking at the trial data and going "Well you've basically lost percentage wise what they did in the trial" and "You've decreased 8 bmi points, which is what people in your starting category lost" - and I'm low key freaking out that I'm at the end of the road and maybe this is as far as it will take me. Maybe increasing my dosage further wont really do anything.

I still have another 15%/16kg to lose to be in healthy bmi range.

Please reassure me that this is illogical and share your success stories of continuing to lose after making it to the trial averages and continuing to lose past 8-9 months 🙏

Never thought I'd be hanging out for...

...my period to come.

I know from tracking that I usually get a little bump on the scale before my period arrives. Nothing to concern myself with, usually just 500g or so for a day or two.

But for some reason I've had a big long bump this month (1.2kg up and it's been 5 days so far!). My cycle has always been slightly irregular with a 3-5 day variance, but now I'm seriously like "come on already I want that scale to drop back!!"

I know it's just hormones, I know I didn't gain 1.2kg of fat this week, but man, being a woman is so frustrating sometimes 😂

Did you choose maintenance or did maintenance choose you?

I'm curious how many people chose their maintenance range and how many were limited by where the medication could get them...

I have a "realistic" goal (nearly there!), a "stretch" goal and beyond that, there is a goal my doctor suggested (that sounds ridiculously implausible to me lol)

So, did you get to a weight where you didn't want to lose any more weight and had to actively change something to stop it?

Did you get to a weight you were happy with and the weight loss just stopped on its own around the same time?

Did the weight loss just stop at some point and you just accepted that's where you would stay?

For the calorie counters, how aggressive is your deficit?

Most people recommend TDEE minus 500 for a sustainable loss. 500 calories a day is 3500 calories a week which should roughly equate to around 1lb pound of fat. But we see some people losing much more than 1lb per week.

I'm wondering if it's due to much higher deficits or something else...

So if you're a calorie counter, what is your deficit size and what's your average rate of loss? Do they correlate with the "500 calorie deficit = 1lb a week" guide?

Question for the ladies...

It's been about 20 years since I've been the size I am now and the last week I've found my bra underwires really uncomfortable against my ribs, like they're poking me all the time. It's particularly when I'm sitting down, not so much standing.

I don't remember having this problem when I was smaller, but is this a weight loss thing?

My bra does fit btw, I just got a new one a month ago in my new size and it's the same style I had before just a band size down and seems to fit well other than this. I am large chested if that makes any difference (16E)

New kwikpen (without GD) mega thread?

With the roll out of the new kwikpens that don't have the "fifth dose" confirmed in Australia, I was wondering if we could have a mega thread that confirms which states and stores still have stock of the old pens?

I know we've seen the new 15mg pens in Sydney and southern NSW, all expiry 10/27, but have we seen any in other states and other strengths yet?

The 15mg I got from chemist warehouse in Perth 10 days ago (expiry 08/27) still had the GD. I'm thinking about going to my GP for a new script to see if I can sneak another old style pen before they hit my store if it's not too late already...

Let me know if you've filled yours recently and got the new or old!

UPDATE 12 May:

So far we're seeing 15mg in central and southern NSW and Brisbane. One report of a 10mg in Melbourne but 3 weeks ago so would like a confirmation pic before saying for sure.

At least 5 Chemist Warehouse stores in Perth only have new 15mg pens in Perth.

If you call up the Chemist Warehouse before you go in they're happy to tell you the expiry of the stock they have and they don't ask why you're asking lol

How can you tell new pens from old pens?

The new pens have a big black spacer under the grey plunger. You can see it without using the pen at all.
