Do you ever have “lost days”?

I’ll try to explain as best I can, but sometimes when I’m doing badly, I’ll be so like, flooded with emotion and stuck/ruminating in it. I feel so drawn inward and overwhelmed by my anxieties and emotions and I feel really disconnected from the world. And it’s often for hours and it takes a while to “shake off” or pull myself out of it, so I just kind of call it a lost day. I don’t know if this is what people mean when they say they have “episodes” or something. Anyways. Our ability to feel things as strongly as we do is cool sometimes but extremely exhausting the rest of the time. 🙃

Notion Alternatives for the average Joe

Hi all,

I'm probably not like the average Notion user so I'll ask for understanding when I ask for Notion like alternatives. I'm anti AI so I want to stop using it for that reason. I use Notion now for life admin things and to basically create like a life wikipedia page about myself - I note car repairs, info about my doctors visits, etc. (If you are familiar with MuchelleB on youtube then you'll know.)
I've tried looking on this sub for alternates but the other problem is that I have a janky old chromebook and many of the other programs/apps I've seen are something that needs to be downloaded and I am not prepared to learn linux just to keep track of basic things like this. I'd even be willing to pay a small fee each month (~$5) but some of them also are a bit pricey for what I'm looking for.
Am I up a creek or does something like this exist out there?

Thank you all so much to those who comment.

Ruby Star style/designs but for clothing fabric?

Hi, I recently (almost) finished a blouse with some fabric from Ruby Star Society. I love so many of their prints and designs but then saw a video that mentioned how there’s different 100% cotton for quilting and for making garments. I’m kind of new to making clothes so I didn’t realize this. Do you have some brands or designers that you can recommend that look or have a similar vibe to Ruby Star but aren’t for quilting?? Thank you!!

Mechanic recommendation

Hi, we’re looking for a mechanic that works on VW cars for my husband. He took it to the dealership for recommended maintenance and they told him he needs to have all 4 brakes replaced and they quoted him at around $4000 so I told him I’d come on here and see if anyone had recs for anything cheaper. We live in the Fountain Valley/Santa Ana/Garden Grove area so somewhere around here would be preferred if possible. Thank you!!

Locals who finish quilts?

Hi!

Last year I made my first quilt, around a queen size. I was wondering if anyone knew of locals who offer a service of finishing the quilt? I have all three parts sandwiched together. My machine is just too small/I find the actual quilting part overwhelming for this size and I realized it’s ok that I don’t derive joy from this part. I’m happy to pay someone to finish it for me so I can start enjoying my blanket! I know it’s a thing to ship it off to people out of state offer this service, but I was wondering if there was somewhere closer that did it?

Thank you!

Hi all,
I have a video consultation with Lipemedical in Spain next week… I’ve been diagnosed at the Roxbury Institute in LA with stage three in my arms, torso/stomach, and legs. It sucks. 🙃 I’d get surgery done in America if I could afford it but I was quoted like over $125k for all I needed, and of course, not knowing if insurance would cover any of it. I’d be interested in getting a breast reduction (that one I think we could make the case for insurance to cover,) but I was also considering a panniculectomy, which I hope I could make the case for insurance as well. I’ve lost 40 lbs on wegovy and just feel sooooo many nodules in my stomach especially.

Does anyone have insight into whether I should investigate or pursue these two surgeries beFORE I get legs done? I’ve heard surgery can trigger lipedema and make it worse, so of course, I wouldn’t want to do that after I had surgery done on my legs. But maybe I’ve heard wrong? Anyone have advice?

Thank you!
