Hello all 👋🏽,
I think I had a glow up. My confidence and self-esteem has increased over the years. Took many years to come out of my shell. I did not take many pictures when I was younger so my graduation photo is the best I got atm. Far more photogenic now lol.
Growing my beard, hair out, and getting glasses are my biggest changes. Learning to embrace my gap teeth was huge because I was bullied over it.
Still working on getting in shape but happy with the progress. 😁
Hello all ( forgot to attach photos lol)
Today was wash day, and I have been finger coiling my hair more than usual. I feel like my hair has been flatter than usual. I’m not used to seeing my scalp (coiling too much?).
This has been the case today and my last wash day.
As the title says, should I separate these bigger coils or use less finger coils? If so, what’s a good method to avoid the frizz?
Appreciate any advice or telling me it’s all in my head.
My Routine is: TGIN Moisture Rich sulfate free shampoo then TGIN Triple Moisture Replenishing conditioner. (2x week)
Deep conditioner: Mixed chicks deep conditioner. I do this once a week. I put a shower cap on and leave it in for about 30 minutes then rinse out.
Leave in is TGIN Miracle Repair Protective Leave-in after each wash. Once applied, I finger rake it through my hair and shake.
Curl cream: Miss Jessie’s Multicultural curls cream. I apply after the leave-in conditioner.
Gel: TGIN Rose water curl sculpting gel. I take it through my hair after the curl cream sets a bit. Then I finger coil most of the curls. I just got a denman brush but will need practice with it.
I will scrunch my curls with jojoba oil once fully dry.
My biggest area of improvement I need to work on not touch my curls or shaking my head while my hair is drying.
I sleep with a bonnet on and will mist some water over my hair and shake out the curls. Will use some gel to touch up.

Hello all, how you having a great Juneteenth. So the first photo is my day 4 curls. 2nd is day curls for reference. I used to restyle everyday and I’ve stopped. I’m Happy how they turned out after 4 days.
I’ll probably wash my hair over the weekend. Any suggestions for the next wash day?
Really enjoying my curls post wash day. This is day 2. I am not sure why i insisted on restyling my hair every day. Wearing a bonnet and shaking the curls out with a light mist. It is much easier 🤣🤣
This is day 2 hair and I used to restyle my hair daily but I have stopped that about a week ago that’s to yall. I am enjoying my hair even more now.

So much experimentation with all kinds of products over the years, and still feel like there is more to learn. Still cant section my hair properly.

First picture is when i started growing it out back in 2018 ( had buzz cuts before then).
2nd photo is from when i forced to shave during the early stages of the pandemic.
3rd/4th photos are when it was its longest around 2023. It was very thick on the sides and it was too much to deal at the time. I got promotion and cut off the sides after those.
5th/6th are the most recent from the last few weeks.
