why is srk praised for his take on this? “If you think something is bad, ban it” is an incredibly dangerous way of thinking about government power

If anyone can become a pandit, should everyone meet the same standards?

If the argument is that non Brahmins should be allowed to become pandits, then shouldn't they also be expected to meet the same traditional standards?

Study the Vedas, undergo the same religious training, follow the same rituals, and live the lifestyle expected of a priest.

If someone does all of that, I have no objection to them becoming a pandit.

But if those standards are no longer required, then the debate isn't about caste anymore. It's about redefining what a pandit is.

So which is it?

How do you stop feeling like a burden in a relationship?

I'm 21M, she's 20F. We've known each other for about 2 years, and it's been long distance the whole time.

I've realized that I struggle with the idea of dating because I always feel like I'm burdening her whenever I open up about my problems. The thing is, she's never once made me feel that way or told me I'm "too much." These thoughts are completely in my own head.

Instead of feeling comfortable being vulnerable, I keep thinking she'd be better off with someone who has fewer issues.

Has anyone else felt like this? Was it insecurity, anxious attachment, low self-esteem, or something else?

If you've been in a long-distance relationship, did the distance make these feelings worse? How did you get over them?

Why are people surprised that mainstream news isn't covering the Delhi protest?

People expecting mainstream news channels to heavily cover a protest against the ruling establishment seem to be ignoring the incentives at play. If media houses are politically aligned with, influenced by, or simply don't want to risk upsetting those in power, then limited coverage shouldn't be surprising.

FYI - fuck modi lmao, i couldn't care less about bjp or congress. but expecting actual democracy in India is hilarious

Is it normal to actually enjoy being single?

I'm a guy in my early 20s with quite a few female friends, so I end up hearing a lot about their relationships and talking stages. Honestly, I'm often surprised by the kind of guys who seem to have no trouble getting into relationships, and it makes me realize I have no desire to be that kind of person.

Sometimes I feel like I'd rather stay true to myself than become someone I'm not just to get into a relationship.

Has anyone else felt this way? Is this just a phase, or do some people genuinely prefer being single?
