I seem to have lost the ability to distinguish between food noise and just thinking about food. I can't tell if the food noise is back or I'm just hungry because I could only eat half my lunch. I'm not acting on the food noise, so maybe it's just thoughts... It's all a bit complicated.
Just out of interest, anyone else getting these in the hot weather? I'm actually assuming I've become allergic to my deodorant (sigh), but just thought I'd check to see if it was a side effect! TIA.
Apologies if this is common knowledge, but I was asking my pharmacist today whether they were thinking of dispensing MJ and they said no, but I could always have my online purchase delivered to them!
No more waiting in for DPD/Royal Mail et al, they'll take delivery and then text me when it's ready to collect. Made my day! So I thought I'd pass this tidbit on, just in case you have a chemist/pharmacy near you that might be prepared to do the same.
I'm hoping to start a PhD and turn my eventual thesis into a book. What rights will my university have over my work and is this something I can negotiate? TIA.
Edit: I've already published several books in my field and my PhD has commercial value. My supervisor-to-be (the PhD is hopefully about to be confirmed) brought up the potential for publication but it wasn't appropriate for me to ask about copyright in that moment.
Or is this it until the patent runs out in 2032?
First time being under a 30 bmi in years! To celebrate, here's the rather amazing breakfast I just had: Meera Sodha’s vegetarian recipe for Beijing-style courgette pancakes with hot honey cucumbers https://www.theguardian.com/food/2026/jul/04/beijing-style-courgette-pancakes-hot-honey-cucumbers-recipe-meera-sodha
I tidged the cooking oil to 1tsp and a spray and changed the flour to gram flour. It comes out to around 400 calories per serving and tastes really good. Happy Sunday!
I used to get this years ago, I'd eat a meal then fall asleep almost immediately afterwards. It's happening again but my meals aren't particularly heavy food-coma inducing ones like after a Sunday roast. Eg, I've just had four corn cakes with vegan cheese and tofu and I feel I could sleep for weeks. This isn't fatigue, this is fall asleep tiredness. Anyone else have this? TIA.
EDIT: Been on MJ since January, so this is a change from the norm.
Slightly weird one, but as my apron has decreased, I've noticed that it's not symmetrical. The left side hangs lower than the right. Just an observation, but anyone else?
I'm breaking my journey to meet a friend at Gatwick train station before going onwards to London together. Is the entrance to the station obvious, or is there more than one entrance? Would it be better to tell them to meet me inside? My friend is being dropped off in a taxi. TIA.
I have a lovely old clock that needs a bit of a service... TIA.
I've been on 2.5mg since January, steadily losing, no food noise, little hunger, but the appetite suppression seems to be getting stronger. I'm having to remind myself to eat, which feels peculiar. Anyone else experienced this?
Hi, I'm hoping someone might be able to help me. I've just bought a beautiful Swiza clock/barometer but I'm struggling with how to interpret the backside instructions!
On the front of the barometer is a knob that turns the single hand round, but I'm not sure where on the dial it should go. Are the numbers degrees?
On the back it's a bit of a mystery - there seems to be an aardvark on fire on the far right. I'm okay with the pictograms on the left, though (I think) and I can set the time, although would I be right in guessing there's no am or pm for the alarm, so it has to be set within 12hrs of going off?
The key does wind up the clock and so far it's keeping good time but the ticking sometimes stops even when the wind is fresh and I have to jiggle the key to get it started again.
And I'm not sure what the groove I'd need a slotted screwdriver to turn does, as I've turned it but nothing seems to happen.
If anyone can shed some light, I would be immensely grateful, thank you.
I've washed it, I have bicarb in the bottom, I have a fresh, untainted puppy pad stuffed in there to soak up any bin juice and yet it still smells like armpit of a rancid aardvark even with a fresh bag in there. Any tips other than buying a new bin?
Been thinking about this lately. I still think about food a lot, but I now have no desire to indulge. I don't think that MJ had taken away my food noise, I think it's unlinked my emotional responses to food instead.
When I was stressed, I ate. When I was bored, I ate. When I was uncomfortable, I ate. And so on. Now that I'm on MJ, when I'm still stressed, bored, uncomfortable etc, I'm just feeling my feels and not thinking crisps is the answer to that, or another helping of dinner will solve whatever emotion I'm going through. I still think about the food (a lot), but now I know that eating it won't make a blind bit of difference to my situation, I don't.
Thoughts?
For anyone who follows UK politics...
I read all of them when I was a teenager but have only reread P&P (multiple, ahem, times) since then. I'm about to go on a restful holiday with plenty of reading time, which novel should I bring with me and why? Thanks in advance!
Edit: I knew I could rely on this wonderful subreddit, thank you everyone. I still haven't made up my mind, but I now have a shorter list...
Edit two: You've persuaded me on Persuasion with Northanger Abbey as a second tucked up my sleeve. Thank you all!
