Being bombarded with Account Recovery Requests

I am being bombarded with Account Recovery requests. Bombarded may be overstating it a little bit, but I'm getting 3-10 requests a day and oftentimes 5 or 6 in a row. Of course I hit "No" every time it asks if it is me trying to recover.

I have Advanced Protection turned on. My phone set up as a passkey. I have an excellent password that is completely unique to Google. I also changed my password just to be safe. I've logged in and I recognize all of my connected devices.

I am pretty sure that I haven't been hacked, but I am being targeted. The messages that come along with the account recovery prompts state that my password hasn't been compromised, but the persistence of the hacker still worries me. It's been going on for about 2 weeks. I suppose the hacker is attempting to guess my passwords using old compromised ones bought off the web. I am mostly afraid of inadvertently hitting "Yes" to a prompt just one time and then I'm cooked. I don't THINK that completely opens me up, but I'm not 100% certain. I plan to get a physical security key, but I don't think that bypasses the Account Recovery prompts either.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.

Gonna give some back story in case my experiences help anyone else out.

2022 Jeep GC 4Xe Summit. 41,000 miles. My vehicle previously passed the most recent recall "test" in January (I think it was January-ish). I forget the numbers and letters of the latest recall. In short, the vehicle was up to date on all of its shots.

Anyway, yesterday the vehicle wouldn't start. After many many unsuccessful attempts - I know it was many from her flowery descriptive words she used with me on Facetime - my wife hit the Hybrid button on the panel at some point and was able to get it going. She was then able to drive it home using gas engine.  Interestingly, during the drive home it didn’t use any of the remaining battery charge.

She plugged it in at home to let me deal with it. It also had big ole red Service Charging System warning on the instrument panel (plus other lights).  When I got home after work, I wasn’t able to get it to start again - even trying her Hybrid button trick. I also noticed that it didn’t charge at all and the charging indicator lights on the dash weren’t flashing like normal.

After doing a little online reading, I crossed my fingers and went ahead and changed out the 12V battery. After that, I was able to start it once. I drove it around a bit hoping it would clear codes and eventually go back to normal.  But once I got back home, it wouldn’t start again.  Lot's of ugly dash lights. No charging. Etc. I gave up for the night.

This morning I woke up early and reinstalled the old battery so I could return the new one I bought. After doing so, for shits and giggles I tried to start it and was able to get it to start up in gas mode (again no electric mode).  I immediately drove it to the dealer without turning it off and left it there.  As an aside, my guess is that the longer the battery cooled off, the better the chance I had at getting it to start.  But that’s just speculation on my part.

Also worth noting for anyone who goes down the 12V rabbit hole like I did: I tested the old battery after pulling it and it read 12.7V and 95% charged. The 12V was never the problem. And for those that know, I did pull the fuse when changing the battery. F76 or whatever it was.

This afternoon my dealer (vehicle, not the other kind) called and said it would need a new battery pack and that it’s within the 8 year/100,000 mile window. They immediately authorized me for a rental vehicle through Enterprise.  They didn’t provide me with a timeline on the repair, although they authorized the rental for 30 days suggesting it may be a while. Anyway, I’m actually very relieved. I like the vehicle a lot and if this is the permanent fix, then all is well.

Thus far, I’m quite happy with my dealer’s quick response and attention.  I didn’t have an appointment and they were able to look at it by lunchtime.  He did say that Stellantis would need to approve it, but he didn’t see that being a problem with the data they had.

Anyway, my question is what should I expect and look out for (good and bad)?  Thanks in advance.
