Restaurants for a first date

I'm not from the area but will be meeting a woman for a first date this weekend. Any suggestions for a dinner that's not too casual but not overwhelmigly fancy where we'll have space to chat? Trying to avoid super busy restaurants with super cramped seating. Thanks so much in advance

Any tips for a new uncle?

Just found out my brother and his wife are expecting - the first kid in our generation (neither my sister nor I have kids yet). I'm thrilled for them and want to be as present as possible for my new niece/nephew, and support my brother and sister-in-law however I can. I have zero experience with babies or kids, though. Are there any uncles in this sub that can give me some advice as to how to be an awesome uncle?

The rest of my body can't keep up with my strength gains

Hi all,

I'm a guy in my late twenties, lifting consistently for about 3 months. I started light to avoid injury, then settled into 3 sets of 12 reps, aiming for failure on the third set. I know I should probably push closer to 8-10 rep failure for better progressive overload, but I've been hesitant because:

My joints and connective tissue seem to lag way behind my muscles, I think? For example, I could easily add 20 lbs to my leg press, but my ankle might get painful in certain positions throughout the week. Or I could add 10 lbs to my lat pulldowns, but then this weird neck stiffness worsens. This isn't due to injury during the lift - I pay close attention to form (I use a lot of machines too), but I still get random aches and dull pains throughout the week.  I know it's from training, because my body only feels this way when I'm lifting consistently. Some days I feel like a decrepit old man, as if weightlifting is just wearing my body down instead of building it up.

I'm serious about building muscle and mass, eating and sleeping well, and I've made decent gains so far. But I feel stuck. every time I try to add weight for progressive overload, it's the rest of my body, not my muscles, that hold me back. Has anyone dealt with this? Any advice for pushing through or working around this safely? Maybe I'm just overloading too much? I try to go up at least 2.5lbs for upper body and 5lbs for lower body each week, which seems small, but maybe it's too quick for my body?

Many thanks, any input is appreciated

Where to sell fencing gear?

I tried fencing for about two months and decided it wasn't for me. I bought this Epee equipment bundle from Aspire for about $350 and only used it maybe ten times at most, and would be willing to resell it for $150. Is there a good marketplace for this? I know eBay is often mentioned, but my account would have zero rating / reviews because I've never sold on ebay before, so I have a feeling it would be hard to sell there. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. This gear is just taking up space in my small apartment 😭

Downy Unstoppable scent beads - what's our verdict?

I see a lot of conflicting info on Downy Scent Beads on this sub. The ones I have use PEG in the ingredients, which I understand to be water soluable, but others say it still leaves a wax / film that traps oil and sebum in your clothes.

Do we have any authoritative info on these things? I know fabric softener and dryer sheets are bad, but do Downy Unstoppables suffer from the same issue?

How to show actual lines in-game?

I swear there used to be a setting (or maybe an OpenPlanet plugin) that would show a physical thin line in game that you could follow along each map. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Fastest tempo DJs on the lineup?

I have been listening to a lot of industrial hardcore techno the past few months, which is sometimes played at 165+ bpm, and now anything less feels slow. I know Movement is unlikely to have anything that fast, but I'm wondering who the fastest DJs are on the lineup this year

I go to the gym on my lunch break - I do a full-body program that takes about 1.25 hours per workout. I do 3 sets for each lift, with a minute rest between, and I always seem to be finished with my exercises much faster than everyone else. I even see some people sitting at the same machine for 20 minutes sometimes.

Should I be doing 5 sets instead? This wouldn't be ideal, because 3 sets allows me to workout during my lunch break when the gym is far less busy. But I'm confused about why I seem to breeze through my workouts when most people are at the same machines for much longer

Thanks in advance

I just noticed 3 different bruises in various parts of my body after my most recent workout. Should I be concerned? I don't have any other symptoms, and I have experienced this before, especially after doing AMRAP sets or dropsets. But the google says I'm going to die and need to go to the ER asap, which is not affordable. Can anyone else confirm that this is normal? I definitely overdid my last workout so I'm going to take a few days rest before going back to the gym.
