[Mobile Web] Can Reddit Please Acknowledge and Address The Widespread Spurious Locks of accounts occurring since ~07/08/2026

This is merely scratching the surface on the number of reports, and there are many more, with it largely seeming to be getting silently ignored by Reddit proper, with support cases to Reddit unanswered.

There was even acknowledgement of "a bug" purporting to be addressed on:

To which comments that it's not fixed were ignored and it's abundantly clear it hasn't been, with different people experiencing a few slightly different (albeit remarkably consistent) symptoms. With this many threads having hundreds of "me too" comments, I have a very hard time believing these are individual account compromises at the scale I'm seeing.

Details of my specific issues and exact symptoms and troubleshooting steps are outlined on https://www.reddit.com/r/help/comments/1vkznza/ related to username u/Grim_Fandango92 which has in addition to being locked out, had a spurious account ban with no warning or notification as such. This issue clearly projects well beyond myself though.

Please can Reddit triage, acknowledge and address these clear bugs across the board and communicate out to affected users as such?

Large Mismatch Between Easy Switch Import Size and Original Source Data

What am I missing? This doesn't seem normal.

I don't particularly want to go the pst/mbox export and ingestion route, but unless I can confidently assert Easy Switch has moved everything, it seems risky. Even if compression is involved that's a stark difference.

Locked out of account - please help!

I got locked out of my Reddit account (Grim_Fandango92) on Friday.

I recently signed up to a paid Proton (VPN/Drive/Mail) subscription last week, and I know that's where the issues have come from as the lock happened a couple days after starting to 24/7 VPN, and happened straight after I created a post for the first time since. (ironically, the post was asking for advice with snags I've encountered on my Proton Mail migration so I'm not having a good past week tech-wise)

It started with an e-mail from Reddit saying my account was locked due to detected irregularities and I needed to reset my password per the image... Fine, fair enough, behavioural/pattern changes and all that, sensible enough.

The problem is, no matter how many times I reset my password, I'm still left with an "incorrect username or password" error when logging in. Password reset e-mails arrive, I can follow them, and no matter what combination of e-mail address/username and password I try, Reddit keeps spitting back "incorrect username or password".

What avenues do I have available? I've filled in the form at https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/requests/new but have heard nothing thus far, and I have no idea how long it will be until I do, if I do. Am I missing anything silly, or is this as broken as it seems?

So WOS have killed the ability to create a new character in a specific state on an (unlinked) guest account?

That's... Problematic.

I'm guessing there's no way around that?
