I’ve been wanting a cheap used 27” Thunderbolt Display and this one included the $50 TB2/TB3 adapter for $100. Problem is I had to get it from Richmond, CA to SF.

Solution was to zip tie a 20” wide oven rack to the Blackburn rear rack to make a wider, more stable platform. Shock insulation was provided by a backpack and bathroom microfiber rug. Tie downs were two old inner tubes. Took SF Bay Ferry $5.20 each direction. Slow biked the 5mi home to avoid potholes.

I’ve been microdosing GLP-1 for Type 2 diabetes for 11 months. I’m too healthy for a GLP-1 from Kaiser Permanente at 163lbs BMI 25.5 and you need to fail two oral diabetes medications first or BMI > 27 with co-morbidities or BMI > 30 for obesity.

Glipizide is 2nd generation sulfonylurea (first used in the 1950’s). It pushes the pancreas to produce insulin regardless of glucose level. Arguably, it can contribute to insulin resistance and pancreatic beta cell burnout. I basically rejected Glipizide due to a potentially hazardous mechanism of action. 1500mg Metformin didn’t work for me. I bike 2000mi/yr. A1c was hovering around 7.6-7.4%. Not good.

So I sourced Eli Flower Trulicity (dulaglutide) 3x 3mg from Craigslist Free. Divided into 10 insulin syringes and dosed ~0.75mg every 15 days from August 17, 2025 to Feb 2026. At the end it was ~275 days expired and still effective.

January 2026 no GLP-1 whatsoever. My Jan 2026 FBG Avg rose back up to 160 (see graphs 2, 3).

Then I switched to RUO Semaglutide and dosed ~0.5mg every ~15 days from Feb 2026 to now July 2026.

Weight: 163lb > 170lb > 163lb
Hemoglobin A1c: 7.4 to 6.4%

For my Type 2 Diabetes, microdosing 0.5-0.75mg GLP-1 at long ~15 day intervals has been a huge success!

PS My low dosage and long intervals are intentional for reasons. One is to conserve, save money. Two, more importantly is to give my GLP-1 receptors a chance to resensitize and repopulate at the cell surface. Receptor agonism (activation) often causes receptors to desensitize and downregulate - then you end up uptitrating your dose.

TL:DR For T2D get on a GLP1 sooner rather than later.

I did that brain fart thing and threw rice and water into my Instant Pot without the pot liner! The water and rice went into the electrical mechanism at the bottom. There was no added salt in the water.

I inverted the IP, scooped out rice, and let water drain. Using a Torx T15, I removed the bottom plate. I think I did one tap water rinse through. A distilled water rinse would have been best. Used a vacuum cleaner edge tool to vacuum rice out over the next 2-3 days. Let it dry, shake, gently tap the sides (otherwise the sides will dent), vacuum, repeat. I also tightened a few Phillips screw based electrical connections.

I left it unplugged to dry out over about 10 days. You don’t want to energize any circuit until it’s fully dry. Now, it’s making beans again.

Brannan Street Wharf and Thee Parkside (closing July 5th)

I got an eye-opening sardine, canned seafood collection from someone moving from SF to Berlin.

I was hesitant, but my favorites are Gulf of Maine Conservas Farm Raised Smoked American Eel (USA) and the Grilled Catch Riga Smoked Sprats (Latvia). Least favorite is the Rizzoli Anchovy Paste (Italy) due to high bone content and perhaps my lack of cooking experience with anchovies.
