Just got this home about 30 minutes ago!

I had my eyes on a cocktail Phoenix, but then this cocktail Donkey Kong became available for cheaper and at a closer distance. I do have a question for anyone who owns a Nintendo cocktail cabinet. When I got this one home, I noticed that the top woth the glass is not locked down. I'm assuming there are locks for the top, but where is the best place to get one? I want to replace the faded artwork as well, but found some good repros.

Twitchcon 3 day pass + party bundle ends today

After today, it will cost $19 more to attend the party and get admission for the entire weekend to Twitchcon itself than it is costing with the $299 bundle. I got mine day one day and am excited for everything in store for us that weekend!

Does anyone know when the Twitchcon app is expected to update?

I'm mainly asking so I will have an idea of when to check for any streamers I know doing meet and greets.

What is the funniest moment you have witnessed at a con?

For me, it would definitely be earlier this month at Fanboy Expo in Knoxville, TN. Among other guests, a large number of the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie cast was there, including Christopher Lambert (Raiden), Robin Shou (Liu Kang), Linden Ashby (Johnny Cage), Chris Cassamassa (Scorpion), Keith Cooke (Reptile), Tom Woodruff Jr. (Goro, possibly special effects), and director Paul W.S. Anderson, were all there. My go to costume these days has been M. Bison of Street Fighter fame, but I wore it partly on purpose this time because I thought it would be funny to see a Street Fighter character in a photo with Mortal Kombat actors. Little did I know what an epic moment was in store! When it was my turn to do the photo op, one of them called out, "Street Fighter?!" And Chris Cassamassa told me, "Wrong game! Get out!" I pride myself on maintaining character when I cosplay, but I couldn't keep a straight face after that, much as I tried. We took the photo, and if you have ever done a professional photo op, which I am assuming most of you have, you know that typically you take the photo, and then you leave the booth for the next person to take their turn. As I was walking out, however, they called me back in to take another photo, which I was not expecting. As we got in position, I heard laughing, but didn't know why until I picked up the print. When I saw it, I laughed so hard they have to have heard me from the next room. The fact that Liu Kang and Raiden weren't joining in just shows that they truly are the good guys.

Hot take: Akka Arrh

I got to thinking off and on about the story of Akka Arrh's rom making its way to MAME, and it's been debated on whether or not the tech was a hero to do what they did, assuming the stories we are hearing are true. My take on it is that the tech was a hero by doing what they did, because it led to Atari releasing the game on the Atari 50 collection for all platforms, which gave us all a legal way to play the game, whether we owned one of the three cabinets that exist or not. If anyone had the right to make it available, Atari did, and for all we know, they may either have not had the code anymore, or might not have thought to include the game in Atari 50 if it had not been leaked. To put it in perspective, Bubble Bobble came out 4 years after Akka Arrh was put out for play testing, and a mere 10 years after Bubble Bobble's release, Taito announced that they had lost its code, so it is possible for Atari to no longer have the code to Akka Arrh anymore, especially since it never got released, and if that's the case, then the tech who leaked the rom would be the reason the game is legally available to play today. Even the other ultra rate games on the collection, like I, Robot and Cloak & Dagger, are much more easily found than Akka Arrh, which has a total of 3 units in existence, so I for one am grateful that the tech put the rom out there all those years ago. What are your thoughts on it?

Thinking about attending a different church

I started attending the church I am now a member of last year, and I feel like ths pastor feeds us very well spritually. Lately, however, some of the pastor's habits have not been sitting well with me, and when I shared them with a friend who I shared some of my pastor's sermons with, he said he got the same feeling, and didn't want to say anything because he was afraid it might cause friction between him and myself. I'm wondering how many people here see a potential problem like I do.

The first habit it something I first noticed maybe last year, but it's only now started to get to me. The pastor not only encourages people to react during his sermons, he expects it at times, and if no one calls out an amen after a certain sentence or point he was trying to make, he has asked the congregation, "Are we all right today?" Or he might say, "I was expecting a few more amens there." And more recently, he has said, "I'm just going to wait until I get an amen", and during his morning sermon this past Sunday, after finishing a sentence, the pastor said, "I'll amen that all I want", before calling amen multiple times. The pastor also once, a few months ago, brought up a person who left the church, without naming that person, and told us he asked that person why they were leaving, and then followed that up by saying he feels entitled to ask people who have decided to leave why they are leaving.

If any of the rest of you noticed that going on in your church, would you find it troubling? Does it seem like a petty reason for me to think I may need to find another church home? I do have one in mind if I decide to move on.

A friend once told me...

Christian spear = injury

Edge spear = hospital visit

Lashley spear = coma

Goldberg spear = R.I.P.

If we're going by that, then what does a gore from Rhyno equal?
