117 S10s (1st gen) I've seen in the wild over the last 10 years (CA)

My first vehicle was an '88 S10, and have loved them since. I moved from the northeast US to sunny California 10 years ago and started taking pictures of the 1st gen S10s I'd frequently see. Made a collage today, thought this community would appreciate!

Build plate crashing / sticking on the left

Whenever I try to do a print that's more than ~25mm tall, the left side of the built plate stops moving midway through the print and the right side continues, resulting in the situation in the picture. The platform travels normally before a print, both manually and during pre-print calibration. There is no strange sound, until the left side stops moving then it gets pretty creaky.

Has anyone encounter this issue before? Any suggestions on a resolution? I've ensured the z screw and linear rods are plenty greased.

My dragon fruit flowered for the first time!

After spending a few years nurturing a Queen of the Night I mistook for a dragon fruit, I finally got some actual dragon fruit cuttings ~1.5 years ago.

It bloomed for the first time last night, these flowers will be the size of dinner plates!

First pic is from this morning, second one is from yesterday afternoon. Crazy how it opens up so quickly!

Advice on improving curb appeal

I'm planning on painting soon, but am not sure of color. I don't think it's feasible/cost effective to change the stone at the base, and I hear painting stone is a bad idea. Looking for color advice and (secondly) landscaping direction. The tan stone seemingly limits my color options. I'd like to avoid an all-beige house (I think), but not sure of any other good color options. Army/olive green has been vetoed as well.

The two tall trees in front of the garage would go, they're kinda sad and unbalanced. We planted two fruit trees that we'll keep (an orange and a pitanga), in front of the taller trees.

What color can I paint for this to look good without changing window frames or brick?

It's time to repaint the house, and I'm excited to get rid of this ugly bright blue. I'd like to avoid replacing the windows, and I hear painting the brick is a bad idea also. Not sure what would go well with the tan brick, and I'd like to avoid an all-beige house if possible. Any suggestions?

Helping clearing a huge blob on hotend

I started a print last night (clear Overture PETG) and watched the first layer as I usually do. It was fine. I went to bed, and woke up to this. I have had smaller versions of this failure mechanism before, usually I just heat the nozzle and it comes off, but this time it's stuck pretty well.

Any suggestions on how to remove this blob? Thanks.

Sell vs ship cross country?

My childhood piano is at my parents' house on the east coast. I live on the west coast. I'm debating about shipping the piano cross country (~$3-5k from what I gather), vs selling it (~3k?). I have room for it, but it probably wouldn't get a ton of use as most of my playing these days is with headphones on a digital when my kiddo is asleep.

It's a ~1995 Charles Walter 1500 Studio in Cherry. Great condition, but hasn't been tuned in probably 20 years, and sounds like it.

What would you do? Sell or ship?

Is this pipe OK? (new construction)

I'm wrapping up construction of an ADU, and I recently noticed that this vertical copper pipe is embedded in the stucco, so paint couldn't get behind it, leaving raw stucco exposed. I'm concerned about water over time. My builder tells me it's fine (of course), but my construction-savvy friend tells me it's fucked and they need to redo the plumbing. Is this configuration OK, or should it be re-done? If it needs to be re-done, how would you do it?

New build. How did the stucco guys do? A+ to F-.

New construction, white stucco. Is this how it's supposed to look at night? Daytime is marginally better. I get that shallow angle lighting highlights imperfections, just looking to understand the magnitude of these ones. Thanks!

Build plate came down sideways after a successful print

Printed a small PETG part on Monday, right after it finished (flawlessly) it made a horrific loud noise and I looked over to see this. Any thoughts on how to approach a fix? I haven't tried to level or adjust it out of concern I'd make it worse. I emailed plus4support but haven't heard back yet. (Surprising, in the past they've gotten back to me next day every time).

I printed at least 10 parts in the previous week with no issues, and a few hundred over the past 1.5 years I've had the printer - it's been bulletproof until now. I greased the Z screws a month or so ago, and do so every few months along with the XY rods.
