When Loki is fighting Imu and wants vengeance for his dad it's peak, when Xebec threatens Imu, it's peak, when Luffy puts words into action and punches Imu suddenly Oda can't write anymore.

I guess this is how OnePiece readership expected Imu to tank Luffy's attack

But the thing is that at no point in the story Imu was ever depicted with that type of superhuman durability, neither as a passive 24/7 CoO user.

Luffy is damn quick and he hits very hard. That's it.

There is no need to overthink it.

Dressrosa Luffy in G2 can render Hajrudin unconscious for +10 chapters (1 entire volume) but when he got hit by "godtier" Imu he is ready to operate under 6 chapters (including 3 flashback chapters), talk about portrayal lmfao.

This fanbase has a weird obsession for constantly wanting to downplay it's main character despite all his combat prowesses and his certified status as one of the strongest. You're simply setting yourself up for failure by downplaying him

Luffy is that guy, he is that strong, he is the x-factor in this story, it is time more than ever to accept it.

This is certainly the first iteration of Luffy to unconsciously use Armament Haki under the conditions of an extreme battle leading to him overwhelm Crocodile.

-> Desert Spada consists in Crocodile essentially turning his hand into a high-speed, pressurized blade of sand he drives into the ground.

It basically works like a sand-based high-speed projectile, literally cutting through anything in its path. A sand attack that sliced through Alubarna's Royal Palace stone like it was butter.

And Luffy, in a final assault, pulverized those sand blades with bare fists, turning them into regular sand upon contact.

I see all the hallmarks of a CoA usage here.

Don't get fooled by the people who'll gaslight you into thinking this low-level combattant is anywhere near pirate king level. I ain't watching folks painting Krusty the clown as he is Heath Ledger's Joker. In no world this is happening.

unskilled emasculated giant with no spine no willpower no drive, get him out of these pk tier talks man what are we doing

The Marine soldier that Rocks envisionned in Garp and wanted to become a pirate when discussing with H*r*ld indeed do exist, and it is his very disciple from the next generation.

A man who believes in a balanced worldview, a man moving on it's own without endorsing any external responsabilities, a man who believes in a justice in the need for order that operates to protect people's freedom and safety, this man is Garp's disciple.

That's the story Kuzan is part of, with all the powerscaling implications that come with.

Shanks ordered Bonk Punch to use Monster to trap Ragnir with a bag of nuts, once that was done, they froze Loki and then tied him to the tree in the Underworld before unfrozing him afterwards.

I solved the puzzle, you know the truth now.

That genius monkey was the key and as he operated under command of his captain, he took all the credit for it.

Through the story of these two rulers, Oda makes clear there is no possibility to coexist with the WG. The tone is clear and sets the stage for the final saga.

It is impossible to go the diplomatic way with them.
It is impossible to choose violence against them.

In both stance there is no issue but to lose, the stories of King Harald and King Leuven from different angles shows that perfectly.

« And, regarding the former Rocks Pirates, he was still a pirate apprentice, but after that, solely through individual strength, he gathered the respect of ferocious pirates and came to be called one of the Four Emperors. »

- Brannew

I particularly like those type of statements coming from the Marines who have pirate careers well documented, testifies of their tuffness

Have we accepted that Imu is likely to get defeated and sent back to Pangea Castle or we still hoping for a Sabaody 2.0 case scenario ?

Xebec killing the admiral 56 years ago may be the leading point to the Military Draft that got Sengoku, Garp and Tsuru to join the Marine

Notice that Dragon was born the following year and Roger began his pirate career at almost the same time
