Missing two performance scenes

I've gone back to doing cleanup in Spirals and I'm missing these two scenes. I have every ending, so I'm not sure why anything would missing. The Union run I was working on, I just passed the two scenes that are on either side of the first one, so I'm not sure if I'm too late to get that.

The second one seems to be Trade Pact IV and I have an idea of how to get that one if that's it. Wish I could have multiple runs of the original timelines going.

Endless March sucks

I hate it. Several stages are just copy pastes, they waste your units by forcing you to defend NPCs that are too far away with too many enemies between them and spawn points and they rush towards the enemy instead of doing anything to help, frigid debuff wastes your turns if you use instant skills or even pick up act again body parts, you can't use restores to keep playing, and there's way too many research categories that have extremely limited usage. What good are buffs for having 5 of a faction when you're going to be constantly rotating whatever you can slap together? It wouldn't be that bad if it was just dealing with one or two of these problems, but it just doesn't let you play through the mode.

3rd run, still shy of the second ending

First run, I played blind, checking under every rock, bombing every wall, floor, and ceiling, wall jumping to get to places I shouldn't be at yet, spider balling across ceilings for great lengths of time only to be knocked down by some stupid flying thing that can somehow move behind the terrain I'm rolling on. Fighting bosses involved slowly adapting, with metroids being unpleasant to fight because I can't fire at a 30 degree angle or have a step to aim from. I was only missing a few things and looked up a map where I stared at every pixel, compared to the in-game map, trying to find what was missing. Was baffled by that shinespark puzzle in the upper right where I needed to see a video to learn that you could re-store your shinespark if you mash down as you hit an uphill slope. I felt stupid, thinking only that crusty rocky part on the top of the queen's head was the only vulnerable part, because of course you have to aim at something annoying.

Second run, I learned there was a launcher with more updates and could play in widescreen and New Game+ that let me explore without linear quake unlocks, so my fusion mode run was that way with those thick plant things and those apparently friendly bug creatures that sink into the dirt without protest if you stand on their heads. It was miserable. Everything could kill me, enemies knocked away more than an entire tank in one hit, and struggling against bosses like the Torizo only to die to the COVID thing that pops out because it has more iframes than normal enemies. I unexpectedly ran into progression issues by trying to go to areas that needed power bombs or super missiles and forgetting I could go around the weird bubble pillar things. I watched some videos and learned I could kill the Tester with a single power bomb.

I went back to normal NG+ for my last run and I felt fairly invincible, damage boosting my way through some bosses, skipping past save points and killing multiple metroids while I tried to quickly navigate and collect my stuff. I still got turned around a couple times, but it felt like a pretty efficient run. Maybe I could have shaved off 30 minutes if I knew exactly where I needed to go at any given time, but I'm not sure I could do a sub-two hour run for the best ending at 100%.

I'm going to take a break from the game, but I'm curious if anyone has some general advice to speeding up my runs in general. I get that I could just copy a speedrun video, but that doesn't sound horribly fun, and I can't even consistently jump morph spiderball onto a wall, let alone do crazy shinesparking every 5 seconds. I'd like to just play it casually without wasting time.

PSA Use immortal recollection to increase Anna's rank and get the event gift (22 hours left)

Today is the last day to do this, so if you want the rewards, I think it's worth doing. I reduced my shard team to three units so she would get 6 a day during the event. I'm glad I don't spend my omnishards. Now I have 25 extra casting molds for next time.

Fvx^ing unkillable bear

It's annoying enough that they've flooded this mode with Alexei unlimited resolve copies, but now one of them won't even die. I don't know what I'm supposed to do, they're supposed to drop dead two turns after they hit 0. What is that yellow skull graphic? I'm quitting out of the game and will come back to this nonsense if someone knows a solution.

Made a pulls/Path of Frost XII video

I couldn't do it with just Agata, for some reason my party got wiped by a single aoe, so I went after Anna. She almost trivializes the whole thing. 6 turns. If I got her to 5*, she could probably end the battle sooner just by being able to start with 5 stacks of Burst Charge. Nothing is horribly optimized, but they don't seem to need to be for this. This is a nice team to have, and Anna being Layla's double alert partner feels so much better than with Momo.

Anyone else shocked by their top 5 most used units?

I get why SPRawiyah is here, and Layla and Luvata were regulars and I still use them sometimes, but I really don't get why Col and Simona are here. They were from the first month of the game and they fell out of use the more my roster became occupied by more versatile units. What were yours and how much do they suck now?

We can follow characters now?

The follow toggle is unique to each unit and all it seems to do is put the followed characters at the top of your character screens and battle screens. Is that really all it does? It made me imagine that there was going to be an Elysium Twitter.

@Rawiyah: Why is my younger self here?

@SPRawiyah: cuz your old i bet your 30

@Rawiyah: I'm 27, idiot.

@SPRawiyah: lolol get a new hand

@Safiyyah: Sorry about that.

@Rawiyah: It's okay, you thought you were doing the right thing.

@SPafiyyah: Wait, what?

Finally beat Path of Resolution XII a second time.

I uploaded a video, hope it's helpful to someone. I'm so glad they added sweeps to these so I only have to do it one more time.

EDIT: So, apparently I'm supposed to put a description for the video. 9 turns with Shams, Lukamar, Kiya, Homa, Clara, and Taair. Very hard, many attempts. Yes, that thumbnail was on purpose.

Deployment rate as shown in the current Fate's Favor

I was just going to select Estra and Yserinde and then probably not pull on the banner, but when selecting your two options, it says, "Deployment rate based on data from high-difficulty stages." Seeing the rates here seems a bit off. I'm sure the data they're using dates way back to launch day, or else Col, Gloria, Safiyyah, Maitha, etc. would have no business being above 5%.

But why is SPafiyyah #3 at 68.8%? I know I saw some clears from like a year ago, and I'm sure she's still used on a lot of teams, but is she still worthwhile? I skipped her since her banner trial didn't really grab me.

It also makes sense that newer units would have a lower deployment rate than older ones, but why is Team Meteor higher than SPamantha, Camelot, and Credenza? I don't remember ever seeing TM used for clears and I feel like they came out around the same time. It's already weird, if not outright obscene, that Guzman, Magnus, Miguel, Nergal, Iggy, and Xander Xavier are all higher.

RCG2's Seasons Beatings seasonal items: how to clock change the clock for Epic version

I was having trouble with how to do this without issues, so I'll post how to do this in the Epic Games store version case others need help getting this to work.

Just outside Kyoko's house is the Seasons Beatings store, where they have unique items for sale at certain times of the year. Under normal play right now, you can get the Aviator Glasses for July 4th. Getting the others without coming back every few months seems tricky with the Epic version. In Windows10, if you change the clock before launching the game, Epic will refuse to open it or even show you its interface until you put the clock back to normal. I tried changing the clock after launching the game, but if I do it too early, then the game will say that the controller is disconnected at the character select screen, even if I can still press the buttons to back out, and if I use the keyboard to try to start the game, then I get a black screen where nothing happens.

The trick is to leave the clock alone, start the game, get to the character select screen, and if you didn't get the disconnected controller warning, then you can change the clock.

  1. Set the date depending on which item you want:

Cupid's Bow, February/March
Bunny Ears, April/May
Aviator Glasses, June/July
Sunbrella, August/September
Witch's Hat, October/November
Snow Mittens, December/January
  1. Load your save, choose your character, and buy it from the store near Kyoko's.

  2. Enter Kyoko's house and select Save And Quit from settings. Don't close the game after you reach the title screen.

  3. Repeat until you have everything you want.

  4. Change your clock back to normal.

I beat Path of Resolution XII last week ... and forgot how I did it

Took several tries and I experimented with many team compositions, but I finally did it. And now I can't do it again. Lukamar, Homa, and Shams from Elaman, Taair for heals and dispels, Kiya for reverse healing, and Clara to tank for the non-Shams people. Positions as shown. Pretty sure Kiya died first, and eventually Clara died a couple turns before the end. But it worked. And it seemed inevitable instead of excruciating trial and error, I just needed to kill Hasna before her support would just heal all my progress to full.

I can't figure it out again after several tries and backtracks. My guys are dying in one hit, I make sure their soul wounds aren't present and they die instantly from like 80% health anyway, sometimes Clara doesn't feel like tanking, sometimes I can't use abilities because of debuffs. I wish I saved the battle when I first beat it. They're even a little stronger now, so I don't get why I can't seem to keep up with the battle anymore. Anyone who can consistently repeat this, do you have any advice?

Busted my P990. How the hell did they make this?

The D-pad felt spongy when I tried to press left and the input wasn't registering consistently, so I cracked it open to take a look. Everything seemed okay. Naively, I put a flathead behind the cross piece to see if I could pop it out and take a look, and without much force, it flipped out of the housing onto the table. The rounded D-Pad on the outside and the cross that touches the rubber switches on the inside are a single plastic piece. And I broke it.

It was already busted before I opened it, but I don't understand how this was made. I looked for seams and other possible mechanical explanations, but couldn't find anything. The front housing is solid molded plastic and the D-pad area is a flat, recessed circle where the top of the D-pad plastic thing sits with a narrow hole allowing the small shaft to connect to the cross bottom. It doesn't come apart in any way that I could see, so it isn't a conventional ship in a bottle kind of situation. So, how did they put this thing together? It's like they molded the housing around the D-pad or somehow poured the D-pad piece into a mold inside the finished housing and then removed the mold.

I can probably fix it with some krazyglue if I'm careful, but I still need to know how they did this. Any ideas?

Why did my model 1 fail to start ... and then it just worked?

I kept my Genesis in a cardboard box and stored away on a shelf for years. I mostly just emulate, but I thought it'd be neat to have it hooked up and ready to go after I moved to a new place. I hooked it up, used a Y cable in the stereo jack to get two channel goodness, plugged it in, put in Streets of Rage 2, powered it on and ... red light, but nothin. I blew air into the cartridge slot. Nothin. I tried different games, reseating the cables. It just didn't work. I saw the beginning of an ifixit troubleshooter and I opened the housing, but I didn't do anything besides look at the metal shielding quizzically and blow some air at the circuit board. I was afraid there was a blown capacitor or just outright failed hardware. I know these things are faulty and possibly fragile. It was stuck in a hot moving truck for over a week. It's not even my original, it was an in-warranty replacement after my 1989 Xmas Genesis just started failing after running a game for about 30 seconds.

I don't know what possessed me to try again, but I did and ... it just worked. It works no worse than it did when Bush 1 took office. What the hell? What was wrong with it and how is it better now? Was there somehow a piece of dust or a dead bug somehow conducting two soldering points that got pushed away? Technology is cursed.

Finally completed a quest ... and it feels bad

Unlike previous runs where I thought Monday to Friday meant I had 5 days or when they decided to throw every single unacceptable order that was 30 miles for $10 (or worse), there was no tension this time. I was on pace and never got close to too many rejections. 80 deliveries in three days was doable and the bullshit was just the usual. Places claiming 10 minutes but meaning 30, people's instructions telling me to go into locked doors and use codes that don't work and never answering messages or their phone, you know the deal.

But after that last job and I saw the money show up, it felt bad. I couldn't get this idea out of my head that all this extra effort, taking some iffy commissions and staying a bit later than usual, it was just a decent 12 hour day's worth. And that made me feel how small it is, and how painful that I needed the money so much. I thought, one of these days, I'm going to drop dead while trying to earn an extra paltry sum that won't even last a week. I'm glad that I could get the extra money, but I'm tired and sore so I'm taking today off, effectively erasing much of the extra earnings by having no income today.

Are you all okay? Hanging in there? Did you finish a quest without debasing yourself too much?
