Post-Gallbladder surgery nightmare: LPR/GERD symptoms turned out to be H. Pylori. Seeking advice.

Hi everyone, looking for advice , been struggling since 5-6 months.

Jan 2026: Gallbladder removal surgery. I was symptom-free for about 3 months.

April 2026: One night, I experienced sudden, intense neck pain and a severe headache. The next morning, I developed a chronic "cough" feeling and a constant globus sensation.

I’ve seen multiple ENTs and GIs. I was diagnosed with LPR/GERD and "cobblestone throat." I spent 2 months on high-dose PPIs (Vonoprazan/Raboprazole) with zero improvement. Last week, a new GI (recommended by my friend) performed an endoscopy and confirmed H.Pylori. I am currently 1 week into triple therapy. Following no-acid diet as well. Whenever I feel slightly better and try normal food or chocolate, my throat, ear, and neck pain flare up terribly for 24+ hours.

Symptoms:

Persistent globus sensation (lump in throat), chronic dry cough/throat clearing, and "cobblestone" throat appearance (diagnosed via endoscopy/ENT).

Throat pain, jaw pain, constant ear pain/pressure, neck tension/headaches.

Salivary gland issue, feels like chronic lymph node around tonsil area.

Reflux and cobblestones.

Questions:

How long into the antibiotic course did you finally start feeling "normal"?

Did your LPR/globus symptoms vanish immediately after treatment, or did they take weeks/months to heal?

Has anyone else experienced salivary gland issues alongside LPR/GERD?

How to confirm H. pylori is gone after finishing antibiotics?

Thank you.

Right upper abdomen pain 4 months post gallbladder removal

Hi Everyone, I am 5 months post-op now. For 3.5 months, it was fine. I was able to eat everything. Then suddenly one day I started having lot of throat pain, ear pain. Went to ENT/GI, confirmed LPR/GERD. Ear/throat pain is healing but I started getting pain on right upper abdomen around gallbladder area. It feels stretchy. I tried to use heat pack but it's not working. Latest ultrasound report is fine. I don't have nausea, vomit symptoms. I don't have diarrhea but i feel i pass lot of stool in the morning. Is it alarming? I suffer from pain and burping mostly.
I am not able to eat much because I am scared but feeling hungry all the time. I have started doing glute and core workout (beginner level for now). Taking prokinetic and PPI meds.

Is it normal to have this pain after 5 months of removal? Anyone else has experienced the same?

Thanks in advance.

Help please.

Hi Everyone, Had gallbladder removal Surgery 4 months back and was diagnosed with GERD. I recovered from it in 2.5 months almost 80-90%.

I have been suffering from below symptoms now:

  1. Throat Globus, sometimes choking feeling, lump in throat but no coughing. Swallowing is annoying bcz of sound
  2. Lymph swelling or pain
  3. Dental/gum inflammation
  4. Ear/eye/head pressure, high nerve sensitivity
  5. Lot of mucus
  6. Less burping as compared to my previous GERD experience

I went to ENT first. He said it's just normal infection in throat and eat as only symptom I had was lymph pain and swelling and ear/eye/head pressure, prescribed antibiotics. It didn't work. Then he did endoscopy after 1.5 week bcz my throat started to behave weird. couldn't figure out if this is LPR , said it's just infection swelling. He increased the dose of antibiotics for one more week. After that I started having swelling and redness in back of my throat and lot of discomfort due to lump. Then ENT said it's LPR. By this time I had finished almost 3 weeks of antibiotics.

Now I went to GI. He just listened my symptoms for 2 minutes and prescribed prokinetic and PPI medicine. It's been 3 days only. But my symptoms are becoming more annoying, specially throat issues. When I was first diagnosed with GERD 4 months back, I used to take vonoprazan bcz normal PPI was not working. And vonoprazan worked like a charm. And this time it didn't work at all.

Feels like I have a deadlock now. Sleeping has become harder. Overthinking is on top. Please someone let me know this will go away. And let me know how did you manage. I am worried it's not major life threatening disease. My health anxiety is on peak as I had 2 surgeries in 1.5 years.

Thanks in advance.

Edit : Visited another ENT dr. She did endoscopy. Everything was clear except Inflammation due to reflux. She asked me to wait and see. 🥲

Recurring right side jaw/ear pain

Long post : I am seeking advice on a recurring right-sided pain that keeps cycling back the moment I stop antibiotics.

• 3 weeks ago developed a very severe, deep "pus acne" on my right chin. It was painful enough that my right lymph node became swollen.
• A dermatologist drained the acne and prescribed a 5-day course of antibiotics. The skin healed in a couple of days.
• Immediately after finishing those 5 days of meds, I developed right ear pain and that lymph node became tender again.
• Because the ear and lymph pain were intermittent, I went for a routine dental cleaning. After coming back from the clinic, my right jaw started paining so severely that I had to call the dentist.
• The dentist sent me to an ENT, who prescribed a second course of antibiotics. In total, I have been on antibiotics for 10-12 days. My old teeth issues went away while on them.
•  I just finished antibiotics course. Within 24 hours of stopping, the exact same cycle repeated. I now have:
• Right-side headache and pain radiating to my right eye, head, and Neck.
• The muscle on the right side of my jaw feels "tough," tight, and stiff.
• The lymph node below my right ear is tender again (5/10 pain).

I had my right wisdom tooth removed last year.

  1. Is it possible that the "pus acne" on my right chin was actually because of deep dental/bone infection on the right side, rather than a skin issue?
  2. Can a deep infection or a residual abscess linger from a wisdom tooth extraction a year later, only to flare up like this?
  3. Since 12 days of antibiotics only suppressed the symptoms but didn't cure them, what is the best next step?

Thanks in advance!
