Post-Gallbladder surgery nightmare: LPR/GERD symptoms turned out to be H. Pylori. Seeking advice.
Hi everyone, looking for advice , been struggling since 5-6 months.
Jan 2026: Gallbladder removal surgery. I was symptom-free for about 3 months.
April 2026: One night, I experienced sudden, intense neck pain and a severe headache. The next morning, I developed a chronic "cough" feeling and a constant globus sensation.
I’ve seen multiple ENTs and GIs. I was diagnosed with LPR/GERD and "cobblestone throat." I spent 2 months on high-dose PPIs (Vonoprazan/Raboprazole) with zero improvement. Last week, a new GI (recommended by my friend) performed an endoscopy and confirmed H.Pylori. I am currently 1 week into triple therapy. Following no-acid diet as well. Whenever I feel slightly better and try normal food or chocolate, my throat, ear, and neck pain flare up terribly for 24+ hours.
Symptoms:
Persistent globus sensation (lump in throat), chronic dry cough/throat clearing, and "cobblestone" throat appearance (diagnosed via endoscopy/ENT).
Throat pain, jaw pain, constant ear pain/pressure, neck tension/headaches.
Salivary gland issue, feels like chronic lymph node around tonsil area.
Reflux and cobblestones.
Questions:
How long into the antibiotic course did you finally start feeling "normal"?
Did your LPR/globus symptoms vanish immediately after treatment, or did they take weeks/months to heal?
Has anyone else experienced salivary gland issues alongside LPR/GERD?
How to confirm H. pylori is gone after finishing antibiotics?
Thank you.
