I finally put together my Snail!

I have made about 5 shells and many body bits, but I have finally actually assembled one! He's a squirmy fella, so difficult to photograph. But I love how much character he has.

Oh, I get it, I'm a woman, so I can only want runners in white or pink.

Or very very light green.

I'm looking for fun and unique tea cozy pattern suggestions

I love funny tea cozies, but I realised that they always seem to be sewn, or knitted. I'd love to try my hand at a really detailed one, but I seem to only be finding more basic crochet patterns.

I've seen a couple of little house ones in crochet, and some pumpkins, I know there must be so many more really unique ones that I'm not finding. They seem to be getting drowned out in my searches though by really basic ones, or knitting ones.

Edit: These are the kinds of thing I mean: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cthulhu-tea-cosy

I don't seem to be able to add pictures here, but I will in a comment.

I'd love some specific pattern recommendations of any people have come across that stood out to them.

Finished my Spider Guy!

I just recently finished my jumping Spider. It was a really fun one to do, and the first time I've really tackled using lots of different colours in the African flower motifs. It was a really handy way to use up the last of my cotton in certain colors.

I messed up a bit, by accidentally finishing off the motifs, so the join as you go method was off the table. I won't do that again! Sewing all of them together was not fun. But I do think it gives him a look that I like, that I wouldn't have consciously chosen.

The spiders are some of the harder flower patterns I've done, but I do love how they come out! And I feel like they have so much personality somehow.

Does anyone here enter anything in the craft or Photography competitions in Agricultural shows?

I'm trying to finish up some crochet for tomorrow's show, and I was wondering if anyone else on here enters stuff?

Its usually just a bit of craic, but every year Im always intrigued by the whole process. The judging at my local show is always chaos I have to say! I can never tell what they're judging on for either the crochet or the photography.

I'm far from an expert on either, but I can generally tell when something is harder to do, or something is more creative. Some of the decisions are just odd. Even when I win, there'll be other entries that I think should have won instead.

Again, just a bit of fun, but I was wondering if anyone else does this every year too and what the shows they enter are like?

Which is the biggest Jysk in Ireland?

Does anyone know which Jysk store is the biggest? Online it said Liffey valley, which as I'm standing in it right now, I can tell you is not true. I'm pretty sure the waterford one is at least this big, and half as picked over.

I just want the chance to actually look at some of their furniture.

On the way to IKEA on the motorway, you pass a massive Jysk sign, which gives the impression they have a location thats similar to the big IKEA, Decathlon etc, but I can't figure out which one it is, or if it even exists.

Am I wrong and all Jysk stores are more or less the same size?

How do you get yourself to go to bed at a decent hour?

I'm at my wits end. I just will not go to sleep at a decent time. I might be tired all day, and planning to go to be early, and then I just get this burst of energy in the evening and want to do a whole lot of things instead of just going to bed.

Its like fighting with a toddler at bedtime every single night. Except I'm both the toddler and the adult in the situation. Its the classic 'Just do it, just go to bed' but I can't just do it, it doesn't work.

I can fall asleep no problem, its literally just getting me to behave and stop what I'm doing in a timely fashion. So the usual tips like 'reading a chapter of a book', will mean I'll stay up till 5am finishing the whole thing. Also, the usual 'being late' thing is a factor. Where you think it'll take 10 mins to get ready, but 20 mins later you're still brushing your teeth, and then you lose another 20mins down a hole somewhere.

There has to be some kind of way I can talk my brain into making this happen. Bribery or trickery would also work at this point. Does anyone have any tips or advice?

Help finding a recipe for Khao Pad similar to Aroi's?

I was wondering if anyone who's good at cooking could help me figure this out. I love the chicken Khao pad from Aroi, I'd be chuffed if I could make a similar version at home. However none of the recipes I've seen online seem to make sense.

They all have fish sauce in them. I'm not the biggest fish fan, so I feel like I'd have noticed if there was a fish flavour. I thought aroi must just do it in their own way, but I recently had beef Khao pad from another kilkenny restaurant and It was quite similar. Is there an 'irish' version of Khao pad I can't find? Can anyone share a recipe that they think is close to it?
