My s9 received this today. Checked online to see what it is but i don't understand the lingo regarding CVS etc

Anyone installed it and had an issue?

I'm worried about over tightening the metal screw into the plastic trap body so it busts the plastic thread.

I dubbed some silicone sealant on the screw thread last time, but thats not kept it secured.

Should I just use more silicone on the screw thread?

Or a different adhesive?

Or perhaps PTFE?

I've got the rubber O rings for both sides of the tub, but should I apply silicone sealant to them before tightening it all?

I used some plumbers putty last time, under the strainer and on the O rings.

Is that better?

The screw that attaches the strainer to the waste trap has started coming loose. Well, twice in 5 months.

I'm worried of tightening the metal screw too much that it busts the plastic thread in the plastic trap, cos replacing the whole trap and overflow would be a massive ballache cos of the layout of the fitted tub.

Last time i dabbed some silicone sealant on the screw, but thats not worked. Few questions:

-Would PTFE tape be better around the screw?

-should I just dab more sealant on the screw, or use a better adhesive to stop it coming loose?

-should I wedge wooden blocks under the tub around the plug, so there's less movement to loosen the screw?

-should I do all three of these?

(Btw, I have rubber o rings to fit on the attachments and plumbers putty, they're just not shown here.)
