RIP first gens??
I know they weren't getting serviced but was still usable at least.
Regret resetting it.
Any ways to connect again? Third party app support??
$60 for the pair. Was skeptical.
Zero flex. Was around $15 for the rear spools.
So doubt I'll be dealing with it this oil change
Oil filter was on so tight the pliers tore holes in it breaking it loose.
Got it as tight as I could with hand, wrapped it in a towel, used the pliers to give it a few more twists. No torque wrench.
The small inner filter was a pain to get out.
Bike shifts smoother, noticably.
First little test ride seems fine.
Will test for leaks at filter if it needs tighter.
Forward works
Reverse doesn't seem to be attempting.
Really don't wanna take it in somewhere for warranty work
So my screen had stopped showing the weather and time, just the name of the Chromecast in lower right.
But now it's back to displaying weather and such, and normal casting works, not just screen cast.

Subject: Formal Request for Access to Clutch Calibration Software, Diagnostic Tools, and Service Procedures – Kawasaki Ninja 7 Hybrid
To Whom It May Concern:
I am the owner of a Kawasaki Ninja 7 Hybrid motorcycle. I am writing to formally request access to the diagnostic software, calibration tools, and service documentation required to perform clutch calibration and related system initialization procedures on this vehicle.
Based on available technical information and service requirements, the Ninja 7 Hybrid utilizes a software-controlled clutch and hybrid drivetrain system that requires electronic calibration following routine maintenance procedures, including but not limited to oil changes and clutch-related service. This calibration process appears to require the use of a Kawasaki proprietary diagnostic interface and software platform not made available to consumers.
Without access to this calibration tool and its associated procedures:
The clutch system cannot be properly recalibrated following maintenance The motorcycle may not operate as intended or within manufacturer specifications Routine maintenance is effectively incomplete without dealer intervention This creates a condition in which otherwise lawful and standard maintenance is functionally restricted by software controls, rather than mechanical limitations.
It is also relevant that multiple jurisdictions, including several U.S. states such as New York, Minnesota, Colorado, Oregon, California, and Washington, as well as countries including the European Union and the United Kingdom, have enacted or advanced right-to-repair frameworks requiring manufacturers to provide owners and independent repair providers with access to necessary diagnostic tools, software, and service information on fair and reasonable terms. These laws reflect a growing global standard that restricts the use of proprietary software barriers to prevent completion of legitimate product maintenance and repair.
Accordingly, I am formally requesting that Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. provide the following, on fair and reasonable terms consistent with access provided to authorized repair providers:
The specific diagnostic and calibration software required to perform clutch calibration and hybrid system initialization Any required hardware interface(s), including scan tools, communication modules, or adapters necessary to execute these procedures Full service documentation detailing: clutch calibration procedures required post-maintenance initialization steps any system conditions that trigger mandatory recalibration Any access credentials, licenses, or authentication mechanisms required to utilize the above systems This request is made on the basis that the clutch calibration process constitutes a required step to complete routine maintenance and restore the vehicle to proper operating condition, and that the tools used by authorized Kawasaki service providers are therefore essential repair tools.
Restricting access to these tools appears to create a manufacturer-controlled repair dependency, where completion of routine service is contingent upon access to proprietary software systems. This raises concerns under applicable right-to-repair and consumer protection principles, particularly where software is used to limit the functionality of a system following otherwise lawful maintenance.
Please provide a written response within fifteen (15) business days addressing:
Whether the requested tools, software, and documentation will be made available The terms and conditions under which such access may be obtained If denied, a detailed explanation of the basis for denial, including: whether these tools are made available to authorized Kawasaki service providers why equivalent access is not made available to the product owner Please also clarify whether the clutch calibration process is required following routine maintenance events (such as oil changes), and whether operation of the vehicle without such calibration may impact performance, safety, or system functionality.
I am maintaining detailed records of this request and any response received. This correspondence may be used in support of further action to ensure access to necessary repair tools and the ability to complete lawful maintenance without undue restriction.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
