Merci ! :)

Adding Bluetooth to the car stereo of a Suzuki Alto (or Nissan Pixo)

Hello,

Here's a tutorial to add Bluetooth connectivity to the car stereo of a Suzuki Alto (or Nissan Pixo). The part number of the car stereo is NSCR-04, and here's how it looks like:

Front view

Top view

Rear view

Unmounting instructions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUFHCen-yDQ

This car stereo only supports CD and radio. However, it is also compatible with a handsfree kit (the white connector above). This is used to place and answer calls using your smartphone and hearing the audio in the car speakers. We can use this white connector to simulate the connection of a handsfree kit, while in the background we actually plug a Bluetooth interface to play the audio of our smartphone. To do so, there are several steps:

1°) Purchase a Bluetooth interface, 8-pin audio connector + 12Vdc black/red wires

e.g. here on AliExpress: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2255800589711327.html

It doesn't necessary has to say "Suzuki Alto", as long as it's for Suzuki and its connector has 8 pins.

2°) Retrieve power supply from the car stereo to power the Bluetooth adaptor

To do so, take a look at the pinout of the 20-pin power connector of the car stereo:

Pinout of 20-pin connector, Suzuki car stereo

So you need to connect the red and black wires of the Bluetooth adaptor to the power connector of the car stereo this way:

Bluetooth adaptor wires Car stereo power connector
Red wire Terminal 19 (+12Vdc permanent), white and black wire here
Black wire Terminal 1 (0V, ground), black wire here

Please note it says "+12V Permanent", but the terminal is energized only when you turn the ignition key. Test it with your voltmeter and turn the ignition key a bit to make sure this terminal supplies power the way you want.

3°) Add short to the audio cable for the car stereo to switch to Bluetooth

On the 8-pin audio cable of the Bluetooth adaptor, there are two wires that you need to short (i.e. connect together). Otherwise, the car stereo won't switch to Bluetooth audio and won't display "TEL" on screen (it will remain at the current state, e.g. either radio or CD). The two terminals that you need to short are trigger 1 and trigger 2 (see pinout below):

8-pin audio connector behind the car stereo (connect \"Trigger 1\" to \"Trigger 2\")

If you want, you can put an on/off switch between these two terminals to manually switch between "Radio/CD", or "TEL" (Bluetooth) on screen (and to be able to turn off the car stereo). It is easy to drill a small hole in the plastic dashboard below the car stereo compartment, pull a wire, and place a small switch in that hole to turn Bluetooth on/off, on demand. Here, I haven't added any switch, as I never use CD or radio, so I leave the car stereo to always Bluetooth for the time being, this is fine.

4°) Connect the three connectors

i.e. Power connector, audio connector, antenna connector, put the car stereo back into place

5°) Turn the ignition key just enough to turn on your car stereo

6°) Enable Bluetooth on your phone

7°) Scan for Bluetooth devices nearby on your phone

Pair your phone to the Bluetooth device with a Chinese name nearby.

8°) Play a tune on your phone

You should hear the audio on your car speakers. Congratulations.

VoWiFi not working properly when broadband connection of mobile network unavailable

Hello,

I live in an area where I hardly receive the signal of the mobile network, as the cell tower is very far away. To get one bar of signal, I need to walk out of my house. I have broadband Internet at home.

I set up VoWiFi on my Samsung A51 cell phone, "WiFi calls" is enabled in the phone settings, and I noticed that:

  • I need to have at least one bar of LTE signal to be able to place or receive calls, otherwise the screen says no network is reachable (this defeats the purpose of VoWiFi...)
  • If I lose my broadband connectivity, e.g. yesterday and today because of a thunderstorm (power outage in the area), I'm also unable to place calls. Disabling VoWiFi temporary solves the problem, and makes it possible to place calls. I would have expected that going to the patio to reach one bar of mobile signal would have allowed me to place calls: this wasn't the case.

Am I doing something wrong? Are these known issues with the way VoWiFi works?

Thank you.

Choix restreint de titres chez Saxo ?

Bonjour,

>BPC > Try for full article text (no need to report issue for external site): | archive.today | archive.vn

Merci.

Hello,

I installed AdGuard on my Android smartphone, along with the Dealabs app. I enabled https filtering for Dealabs in the AdGuard settings, however, I still have lots of advertising in the Dealabs app:

https://ibb.co/pBYTRRh9
https://ibb.co/wh9VHk4x

Any idea how to block it? (Except accessing the Dealabs content from a web browser)

Thank you.
